I'm listening too. I'm on chapter 26, when Mark Burnett meets Donald Trump. I hope she continues to do interviews right up until election day. Maga won't read this book.
He got cancelled. The final day of The Apprentice was February 13, 2017. He got cancelled as a presidential candidate, November 3, 2020. He gets cancelled, again, November 5, 2024.
His only success was a total failure. Every1, who worked on the Apprentice, said, that he was impossible to work with, never read the script, always did and said idiotic things, and they needed hours of tape to clip together a usable episode. Mark Burnett made Trump a fake success, coz Burnett was the star producer of Survivor, who got to do, whatever he wanted, and he found Trump to be a showman, that he could shape to his will.
It says a percentage are greedy or ignorant. Then here is the racist thing. All the racist groups support him. Then there's the cult mentality. We are chock full of gullible.
@@brianburgess3231 Trump was a *private-school bully* from the age of five, but didn’t become a *boarding-school bully* until he was twelve or thirteen. Fred Sr. was on the board of the private school Donald attended before being shipped to the New York Military Academy.
Trump's always done that. He sells his name. He did it way before running for office. Trump water, steaks, university, etc. They all pretty much failed or were sued. But with running for president and now being a, past president, he gets so much money from his base from his grifts.
Trump got his buddy on the NJ gaming board to deny the gaming permit the Taj Mahal Bob Guccione's Casino. So Guccione filed for bankruptcy and Trump bought it for .10 cents on the dollar brand new. Trump then promptly bankrupted the Taj Mahal. If you're such a "great businessman" how do you bankrupt an ATM that you didn't pay for in the first place?
His Taj Mahal was financed with mostly high risk junk bonds. The income from his casino couldn't keep up with the debt and also being fined millions of dollars by government for money laundering with Russia violations. Eventually it got sold to his billionaire friend Carl Icahn, labor strikes erupted due to Icahn being financially disagreeable with union health benefits. The property closed, everyone lost their job, the county of Atlantic then became known for the highest mortgage foreclosure rate county in the USA. Then eventually it got sold to Hard Rock who pledged $500 million in upgrades. Trump was known for not spending money on casino upgrades. He ran them into the ground then got out of town.
Not exactly across the street. His other Boardwalk casino "Trump Plaza" was about 3/4 mile away and was imploded over 3 years ago due to exterior decay. His other casino, Trump Marina, miles away in the marina district went under and became the Golden Nugget (not owned by Steve Wynn)
He bankrupted casinos. That alone makes him the worst businessman ever. How the hell you bankrupt a casino is beyond anyone with a logical functioning mind.
According to an ancient Chinese proverb, “Wealth does not pass three generations” -- the first generation builds the wealth; the second generation is inspired to preserve it by witnessing the hard work of their parents; and the third generation, having never witnessed the work that went into the creation of this wealth, squanders it.
@@nancychandler367That’s very sad. If one had a “paltry” amount, like $2M (which is waaaay less than the amounts being talked about) and stuck it in a super conservative low risk mutual fund that had a really crappy return (say 2%), that’s still 40K a year. That's why us people in the know, were shocked when he won! I thought everyone knew about his crooked past, bad business deals & his despicable behavior.

He lives off other people's money (grifting, fake charity, fake university, etc.) & he gets money from Russia, etc. Eric Trump said money poors in from Russia. He said this when Trump started running for office back in 2015. Trump is mortgaged to the hilt and is always cash-strapped. His golf courses don't make a profit, and if they do, it's very little. Trump raised all the annual membership dues to Mar-a-Lago, etc. months before each election, knowing foreign heads of State & rich donors will pay more to gain access to him if he wins. Just think. He hasn't paid a dime in legal fees. All are paid by his supporters buying his coins, gold shoes, NFT playing cards, donations, etc. Trump is the first president to grift off the presidency. Presidents specifically, are not supposed to do that. Another protocol Trump ignored. Another rule, the Hatch Act, Trump refused to follow. Trump didn't follow ethics, protocol, rules, regulations, precedent, etc. while he was in Office. First president ever, to be so lawless.

NO, INHERITED CONARTIST, THE MONEY MADE HIM. EVERYONE WANTS A FRIEND TO GET NOTICED. ALL IS MONEY IS OVERSEAS, IN DIFFERENT NAMES. MOST HE HAS TO GIVE MELANENIA CUS SHE DOES HAVE HIM BY THE ⚾'S
He uses his family members to launder money for the family. The money that he puts in Melania’s name would also be safe from any civil judgements and liens that Trump has or may incur.
Re wealthy families: My mother always said shirt sleeves-to-shirt sleeves in three generations, meaning, those who inherit will be back to selling tomatoes in no time. Seems true.
I just finished the book and though interviews are great, the book is really important. It digs VERY deep into Fred's shenanigans. The details that Susanne and Russ have documented are incredible. I highly recommend it.
Mark Burnett owes the people of the United States a huge apology, at the very least. Without him, Trump would have been an obscure former billionaire with no national name recognition and no chance of being voted for by people who fell in love with an "As Seen on TV" bully, bigot and supposedly successful businessman.
How to be despicable in business! I swear he taught our young & they now use his dirty tactics in the corporate world. Always lie. Allows inflate/deflate the numbers to your advantage. Never tell them your agenda. Don't negotiate. It's I win, you lose. Always. Let me tell ya. You can't solve a problem in the corporate world, using Trump's business tactics. But Trump never worked in the corporate world. He has his family business of what, 8-10 employees? The rest of the staff that manage his properties, all contracted out to other companies.
Of course he would have done better if he simply invested in the S&P. We should not only consider his wealth but also all the money others have lost due to his bankruptcies. He is the biggest loser! And so are all the people who have supported him and continue to do so despite all the evidence that he is such a loser, grifter, convict and the rest.
I am a New York transplant living and working in semi rural Pennsylvania. There have been 3 instances since 2016 where I have overheard PA. Maga Trump supporters who think that he built and developed the skyline of NYC. These people express awe in Trump in the bizarre strange belief that he is this amazing NYC developer.
The irony is that after his Apprentice series he was indeed a popular reality TV star and he could have run for President and won. All he had to do was be a nice guy, get elected as a Republican and played the game. He could have just appointed top class people, not crooks, listened to his best advisors, not taken classified documents to Mar a Largo, made considered and appropriate decisions, not lauded tyrants and dictators, and not lied 30,000 times. There would have been a good chance that he would have won a second term in 2020. He would not have had to try to stay in office or incite an insurrection. But even if he had lost, he could have accepted defeat gracefully and then run in 2024 with likely increased approval against the tired and aged Biden. As it is he is going down as the worst President in living memory and likely of all time. I can't imagine any future President will be as appalling as Trump has been.

I remember watching a Netflix documentary about trumps wealth during the 2016 election, and, it had stated (as far as I can remember) that it is both very difficult to narrow down Trump's financial situation and that it was unlikely that prior to being elected president that he was worth more than $250 million USD, now given the scandals that took place during his term & the ocean of legal problems he is currently in and I can see why he would be doing things like selling stupid coins, sneakers and NFT's. and then people will defend him saying "well you can't criticize his business tactics, he is a billionaire afterall!" as if you can't make that kind of money ripping off the gullible...
tRump criticizes Kamala Harris talking about her childhood, but he NEVER EVER talks about HIS golden childhood. I think we all know the reason for that. He can never be considered an everyman to his supporters if this was emphasized.
It makes me so angry when rich people like Trump have the means to truly help the world, and do some real good in helping the severely poor but instead are so greedy and determined to accumulate so much money for themselves and their families while stepping on everyone he can to gain more while claiming to improve things. Imagine the world we could live in if the massive cavern between the rich and poor was closed and real change was made. When people have their needs met, poverty, crime, and addiction decrease. Having nice things is one thing, but buying 3 mansions and 5 cars while people are starving and homeless is shameless.
I've said this over and over in the last 10 years or so to anyone that would listen- my father was a stockbroker in california for 45 years, he was very conservative and republican. He knew about Trump in the 80's because all his bosses were on wall st, and they used to complain about trump all the time because he had screwed over a lot of people while doing business in NY. My dad despised trump as far back as 1984, and was telling people that trump was only worth $100million when he claimed to be worth a $ 1billion publicly! It was well known in the financial community that he inflated and lied about his net worth that far back- it was an open secret! and he was already famous for cheating at golf too. My dad was a golfer and he had heard the stories about trump's cheating. Of course my dad voted for trump in 2016, because he was republican, but he was the only one of his friends who admitted that he hated the guy. 6 months into his presidency he said trump was a mistake and that he had already messed up a sure thing. He died in 2018, but he said he wasnt going to vote for him again if he had the chance. Its been truly baffling to see his rise to prominence, knowing this information-
Trump rose to prominence because people like your father knew better and voted for him anyway. It will happen again, since this country has become so tribal...

Excellent book! I got the audiobook version. Great story. I learned so much about Donald and his father. Narration of audiobook is first rate.
I'm listening too. I'm on chapter 26, when Mark Burnett meets Donald Trump. I hope she continues to do interviews right up until election day. Maga won't read this book.
I thought Front Row at the Trump Show was revealing! And Stephanie Gresham's I'll Take Your Questions Now. I wish his fans would open their eyes.
Now, the biggest American lie is the Donald is a good businessman, This man had 1 successful venture in his whole life and that's his show
My friend was a script writer for the Apprentice. Trumps success was an illusion.
He was going down the tubes financially in the 90's.
I bet he thinks flipping the bird in his picture was so smart...
Yes because he's a child!
What’s worse is what does this say about us as a country that 70 some odd million people voted for the guy this last time?
You are insane. Democrats hate America with open borders and high inflation created by democrats. FOAD! Trump 2024!

Boarding school bully since 5yrs old .. yeah, that's middle class alright 😅
@@brianburgess3231 Trump was a *private-school bully* from the age of five, but didn’t become a *boarding-school bully* until he was twelve or thirteen. Fred Sr. was on the board of the private school Donald attended before being shipped to the New York Military Academy.
What's worse is that his supporters believe that he's just like them simply because he gives voice to their hate
Exactly!!!!
Desperation shows in him selling his watches & what nots.
Trump's always done that. He sells his name. He did it way before running for office. Trump water, steaks, university, etc. They all pretty much failed or were sued. But with running for president and now being a, past president, he gets so much money from his base from his grifts.
Flea market or garage sale crap.
There he is on the phone with his middle finger he's saying FU while on the phone hoping you won't notice! I hate it! Lydia 🎉

Leveraging his own competing casino across the street didn't help
Not exactly across the street. His other Boardwalk casino "Trump Plaza" was about 3/4 mile away and was imploded over 3 years ago due to exterior decay. His other casino, Trump Marina, miles away in the marina district went under and became the Golden Nugget (not owned by Steve Wynn)
I can’t wait for ‘The Apprentice’ movie to come out next month. He’s not going to be happy and that makes me REALLY happy
Me too!🇧🇪🤣
Trump is just delusional about everything
Donald has lived in his own private reality for most of his life.
Fred Trump , a beneficiary of social democratic policy
Shhhhh…. You might upset republicans and democrats by saying a social democratic economy is the the way to build the equal wealth of a country.
@@chris7sutton19 Fred was a straight up racist. So is Don.
He bankrupted casinos. That alone makes him the worst businessman ever. How the hell you bankrupt a casino is beyond anyone with a logical functioning mind.
So turns out the only good business deal trump made was pretending to be a successful businessman on tv 😂
100 % 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hospitality? Least hospitable person ever.
According to an ancient Chinese proverb, “Wealth does not pass three generations” -- the first generation builds the wealth; the second generation is inspired to preserve it by witnessing the hard work of their parents; and the third generation, having never witnessed the work that went into the creation of this wealth, squanders it.
That's my family. They owned a full city block in Manhattan. My dad squandered his wealth.

@@nancychandler367That’s very sad. If one had a “paltry” amount, like $2M (which is waaaay less than the amounts being talked about) and stuck it in a super conservative low risk mutual fund that had a really crappy return (say 2%), that’s still 40K a year. Not enough maybe for a family of four, but it ain’t chicken feed either.
Raised w a silver spoon in his mouth. Got 440 million inheritance, and even more from his Dad before he passed. Thinks you need an ID to buy groceries cuz he's never grocery shopped in his life. It's like a Neverending bad movie.
Who's going to buy that watch? If it's a genuinely good watch it's worth about $20,000 or so. Putting trumps name on it doesn't make it worth $100,000.

How has Trump's incompetence not been common knowledge since he rode down a fucking golden escalator?
That's why us people in the know, were shocked when he won! I thought everyone knew about his crooked past, bad business deals & his despicable behavior.
Does Trump actually have money? Or, is it all a myth?
Myth
In 2020 Deutsche Bank released a statement that Donald is BROKE & has been for a very long time! They would know, they've "handled" his money since the early 80's!
Trump's fragile ego will always be bigger than any wealth he holds
He's rich on paper but cash poor.

Seems true.

Mark Burnett owes the people of the United States a huge apology, at the very least. Without him, Trump would have been an obscure former billionaire with no national name recognition and no chance of being voted for by people who fell in love with an "As Seen on TV" bully, bigot and supposedly successful businessman.
did you ever notice that in many photos, Dump is giving the bird to the world?
SUSAN CRAIG ROCKS!! One of the BEST inestigative journalists EVER.
Imagine being his apprentice. What would he teach you?
By the number of times that he's been down and managed to hoodwink or defraud people to get back up, the answer is probably necromancy.

Indeed, the worst 'anyone has ever seen'!

Uncombable hair syndrome is a rare structural anomaly of the hair with a variable degree of effect. It is characterized by hair that is silvery, dry, frizzy, wiry, and impossible to comb. It was first reported in the early 20th century. It typically becomes apparent between the ages of 3 months and 12 years.

Keep it up David!!!
tRump criticizes Kamala Harris talking about her childhood, but he NEVER EVER talks about HIS golden childhood. I think we all know the reason for that. He can never be considered an everyman to his supporters if this was emphasized.

Love the book! Reading it now, well researched.
A "gift" of million bucks in 2024 is still a pretty big leg up.
Back in 1960s, 1970s it would have been an ENORMOUS head start.
Great conversation, I need to read the book!
