    I’ve had my delta pro for almost 3 years and it gets used daily.
    Supplements my daily power usage.
    Never without basic power requirements.
    They were pricey when I purchased but storms do not stress me out as far as power goes.😊

    • @AveRage_Joe
      @AveRage_Joe  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      AWESOME!!! Do you do a full cycle daily? What all do you power? YES 100% not worried about storms😆 Same, I dont want to lose power in the winter!😬

      @@AveRage_Joe
      I generally only cycle it down to 30% once a week or so.
      All my indoor outlets (120v) are powered from my solar setup.
      Tracking my power usage I save about $100 a month from previous years during summer in central Florida.
      The purpose wasn’t saving money but to have power at all times.
      But may as well use it if it’s available.😊

    You videos are REALLY well done. I have an EcoFlow Pro + Smart Pro Battery. I can double this & get the 340V attachment. With the EcoPro 3 I think you can add a couple more batteries. How would you increase your capacity beyond that? Can the Smart panel 2 take multiple split phase 240V inputs???

    Just found the channel, Awesome stuff! I have the Delta Pro 3 ( it arrived 3 days ago) and am going to use a manual transfer switch. The Ecoflow website says it recommends the reliance 306A1 for a single delta pro-3 , Is that the same panel that you used? I need to power a fridge, a pellet stove and a 1/2 HP well pump (240V) as emergency backup all at the same time. Any Help would be appreciated. I hope to plug the panel into the L14-30 port and run both simultaneously (120v + 240V) We can get some pretty bad winter storms in the UP of Michigan.

    I really enjoyed your video and your testing, your real world test with the storm. I just got my D3P with one extra battery and they don't say what that will run they only show it with 2 batteries. I need to get the Smart home panel put in and try to move to solar, We live in SWFL and my wife is disabled and she needs the power when it goes out and I have gone through 3 different gas generators and each year have to get another one! Well no more with this outfit.

    Great video. Only step that should be done different is that you should leave DP3 AC power button OFF until you have the cable plugged in at BOTH locations (front of DP3 and generator inlet box). You shouldn't plug it in to generator inlet box while cable is live.

    Great job with the video! Really helpful to show multiple ways you can use it to power your home. While I'm not a fan of the fact that you can only use 120 or 240 at the same time, I wonder if it has to do with preventing direct imbalance? Still, it seems like it should be able to handle it.

    This video gave me an idea. I already have a transfer switch installed but don't have the electric stove(i only need one burner plan on upgrading to induction one day) hooked up to it because of the different size gauge wires. But that interlock switch thing is something I could do. I wish it could be both inside and outside though. The only thing I don't like about the interlock is the all or nothing approach.

    • @AveRage_Joe
      @AveRage_Joe  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yeah using the lockout is basically the same as the transfer switch but it is all or nothing. If you dont need all the things, just turn those breakers off. I bet there is a way to have both indoor and out door. I will find it because I also have a generator. Speaking of generator, I wanted to show charging off the generator but maybe in another video.

    Thank you for this!! I ordered the Delta Pro 3. I also am getting solar panels in November. I learned that the solar I’m getting won’t provide power during grid down… which is why I wanted the EcoFlow. Can you please give me some help figuring out if I can either put specific solar panels on the roof for the delta pro 3 (in addition to the ones coming for the house) or be able to utilize those panels (Enphase) to charge? Thank you!

    • @AveRage_Joe
      @AveRage_Joe  7 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Awesome for all of it! Yes if you are getting a grid tie system, it wont work if the grid goes down. You could possibly get those same panels and not use the enphase micro inverter(depending on the panels since enphase likes/works with enphase products). Otherwise you could get some regular solar panel to set on the roof to charge it. I have made a few videos the past few weeks on solar panels made by Sirius. They work great and are right in Texas along with other solar panels. I actually just ordered myself a pallet of the 415w Sirius bifacial solar panels! I also have links and discount codes in those videos!

    Hey AJOE,
    I really enjoy your informative videos. Like one of your other commenters, my Delta pro ones lose power to the four AC outlets anytime I have a power transfer from battery to mains power while running a small portable AC unit. I have been dealing with EcoFlow support for over a month with no solution. Any chance you could try to simulate this issue with your DP1, DP3 and DPU units? I think this would be super helpful for those of us that have this issue with the the DP1. I would like to stay within the EcoFlow battery system, but I’m not sure if I should upgrade if they can’t do the switchover without loss of power. Thanks

If not, does the EcoFlow app for control of your power panel operate in an internet outage scenario? Have found some issues from some of my apps and sometimes my internet service with Frontier.

An example would be a 5kw battery box without solar is going to cost the equivalent of $1000 per kw, plus a 6kw array on roof is about $12000 on average. Plus everything is 240v so if you get it wrong you’re either going to burn yourself or burn the house down. Just wish the uk would catch up. Keep up the good work 👍🏻

    • @AveRage_Joe
      @AveRage_Joe  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      For wattages and stuff. Just add up the watts from the things you want to run. Let say the fridge uses 125watts an hour. That = 125 watt hours. Your other items would be calculated in the same way. Then lets say your total watts of everything is 500watts. That = 500watt hours. To see how long those would run. You would take the watt hours of the power station which is 4000watt hours ÷ 500watt hours(your items) and that = 8 hours. I hope that helps shed some light. This would be a great option to run all of those. Plus if you needed moar run time you can add an expansion battery or 2.💥🤘

    I was going to go with an Ecoflow setup for my home, roof mounted solar panels 2 smart panels batteries the works but it ended up being more expensive in regards to upfront cost. I decided to go with a 22k whole house standby Generac unit. It just made more sense as we have access to NG and it puts out more power then an equally cost Ecoflow setup. It was around $17,000 for the 22k Generac standby unit which includes instillation and permits. The Eco Flow setup would have been a bit more then 30K with an overall lower power output for nearly twice the cost. With that being said I'm not bashing Eco Flow they make great products it just didn't make sense for my needs or budget.

      Nothing wrong with that! Only thing I could think of is if you had a battery backup with solar then you could be powering your house or most of it off grid. Then have a small genny for those extended power outages.

    Awesome review and tests! To me the biggest negative on these battery generators like the EcoFlows is they warn not to keep the unit (fully charged) for any length of time, they want you to discharge down to 30% at least every 30 -60 days, not an issue if you use it all the time but it wastes energy having to discharge for no reason and people should know it has warnings against holding a full charge for long periods of time which kind of undermines its being for (emergencies). Having it in the app to recharge for an impending storm (thunderstorms or ice storm) is a definite plus but not all outages are going to be possibly known in advance like a car taking out a power pole but still better than nothing. (Having said all that) I may buy one and I see you have a Joe discount code ) with link ! 👍

      Yeah I could see your point but thats with all lithium batteries. Also to be honest, I keep a lot of mine full charged for longer then 60 days lol. Hi Joe,
    I just received a DP3 for home backup. Right now, I am using extension cords to keep my fridges and freezer going during during power outages as i dont have a transfer switch or generator inlet. I want to upgrade in the future, and the SHP2 is my most likely upgrade. My question is, can I charge the DP3 (or a DPU for that matter) with a small generator using the supplied 120v cord while it is plugged into the SHP2 and powering my house? Or would i be better to just have a normal transfer switch?

    • @AveRage_Joe
      @AveRage_Joe  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @changhehuang558 Yeah I understand what you are wanting. If it has to be a portable, then you are probly out of luck. You would probly want to look into an off grid inverter and a LiFePO4 battery. The inverter you can set to recharge only from solar. It can be connected to grid at the same time. Will only switch to grid at %SOC you set. Also ups/eps if grid goes out even at 5%.

    They cheeped out again on the charge controller. Max 150 volts is to low. Most new large wattage panels range from 47 to 50 volts now. This limits the user to go a max of two in series than another two in parallel to that. I have a Delta Pro and two extra batteries and the 150 MPPT never goes over 1,340 watts. I have four 545 watt panels. I will never buy the Pro 3 because as far as I'm concerned it's not an upgrade.

    throw away your SHP(V1) and your original DP because they are incompatible with the DP3. You can use them as a boat anchor. Also, ecoflow decided to still limit the high voltage to the same 150V and also added the 60v for the second input. Why they didn't do something like 450-500V like the all in ones have, I have no idea. They proved they can with the "Ultra". Bottom line... skip the DP3 and just go for the "ultra" --- much better solution. BTW, be careful with ecoflow "support". If you need support, I suggest you buy your units from anyone but Ecoflow (costco, wellbots, etc) so they can help you get support and your warranty will be honored. I've personally had the ecoflow delta pro fill my house with smoke and it took more than 2 months to get a replacement. If you're ok with that level of support, fine. I'm not a fan.

    wanna know something funny. ac soft starts are a scaym. well they make sense for very large devices, but most small/medium sized ac's that are just barely not able to run because of their inductive load, you can use a hack to get them start by connecting them with a solid state relay. because the solid state relay uses an optocoupler (tiny led light that powers a tiny solar panel which activates a solid state switch/transistor), by design they only turn on/very near the "zero cross point" of the AC wave form. because the inductive loads are proportional to the dot product of the ac voltage, which is ~0v, you get an extra 1/60th of a second for inductors and stuff to precharge before they place a load on the inverter. AC soft start for like 3 bucks lol. tbh im not an ee, and have ~0 formal education on ee stuff... just reposting stuff i found on the internet

      Hi, thank you for this post. I have a Delta Pro connected exclusively to a 8000 BTU window AC. When the DP switches from AC to Battery or back from Battery to AC, 50% of the time my window unit stutters and causes the DP to shut off AC output. Can you share with me the Solid State relay your referring to? Thanks!

    • @SuperBrainAK
      @SuperBrainAK 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not a half bad concept. Thanks for the tip! Relays kinda suck and wear out anyway so SSR's are a good cheap option (even cheaper if you have to replace the relay anyway). But I wouldn't go so far as to say soft starts a scam. They do a lot more to slowly start up the induction motor than just starting at the zero crossing point.
