TLDR version, I bought the dp3 because of you. Hit by hurricane, power out 5 days, great having it kept everything running, thanks for your vids👍 Long version, Hey professor. I want to thank you for making great reviews. I've been watching you for over a few months and I liked your delta pro 3 video and purchased one for my stealth camper van 2006 Econoline e350's power system instead of building one with victron products and batteries. I chose ecoflow because I can also use it for hurricane survival and a van power station 2 in 1. I'm in SC and we were hit with 70mph winds and several downed trees and our power just came back on after 5 days. The 240v outlet on the dp3 sold me and I tied it into my houses breaker box. I was able to run every light, fan, modem for internet and fridge without 15 extension cords. I even ran a 1300w air conditioner in my master bedroom. The heat here was around 90s and night time with the humidity was in the 80s. I ran everything except my houses hvac, oven, water heater and dryer. The dp3 was awesome. I charged it with a harbor freight 5000 inverter genny on propane at 120v 1700w. But I only ran it to recharge my dp3. (Saved a lot of gas) Since I found out I can charge the dp3 with 240v faster I just ordered a 7000 watt champion inverter generator with a 240 outlet and an ecoflow 240 inlet cord for the dp3. Now I can recharge it in 70 minutes at 3400w! Just wanted to say thanks. Your video sold me on my purchase and it helped out family out tremendously over the last 5 days. Last hurricane for Matthew we were without power for 9 days and I ran my construction Genny the entire time. What a waste of gas. Now the hurricane is over I'm going to put it back in my e350 and go for a road trip. The Anderson port runs my 12 v Lights, roof fan 3x 12v cig ports, 12v cooler fridge and streamlight flashlight. I utilized the 30A RV plug for vans entire 120v system. The 120v runs a midea 5000 btu AC and all my outlets with a mini TV and microwave. I can't say enough about the dp3 and your reviews and recommendations. Thanks again Professor Hobo. Keep up the good content! And i will be saving up for an extra battery 😁👍
God bless your family. Thank you for sharing your experience and your thoughts on this topic. It was very informative and helpful for me to learn more about this product and what it can do. Thank you again for your real life experience.
So glad the DP3 worked for you. I live in SC. We were without power for 2 day and my in laws were without power for 7 days. We have a DP3 and a D2M. They were a life saver during our outage!
I agree the ultra would be awesome with the wall panel. I went with the dp3 for cost reasons. And it can go im my vehicle with the car charger and solar. So its main use is that. I only use the dp3 for the house when the grid goes down for days in our area for hurricanes. Im glad I had it this week. Helene just hit and we were out of power for 5 days. Using the dp3 manually fed into the panel through the 240v we could power everything in the house except hvac stove water heater. I used a inverter generator to recharge it. We just got power back on today and my gennys run time was 25 hours and it used 8 tanks of propane for the 5 days. This was great because Matthew hit we were out for 9 days. The generator ran for 9 days and gas was hard to source. We turned it off while sleeping no fans ac lights, miserable. this week we had a small ac unit in a room. All lights, fans, TVs, fridge, modem for internet worked, it was amazing. At times i forgot we were off the grid. Cannot say enough about the dp3. I will be saving up for an extra battery and i just upgraded my genny to 240v and bought the ecoflow 240v charge cord. So i can charge in 70 mins at 3400w! Great vids professor Hobo 😎👍
Excellent comparison information! The River Pro2 travels in my Jeep as backup power for cameras/ipad/iphone as well as for a kettle to heat water. I've used the Max and Delta2 for 2 power outages (7 hours at -18F and 6 hours just 10 days ago). . I'd love to add the DP3 plus panel plus dual fuel gen ... saving and watching prices. This video helped me understand what would work best for my whole house ... at this point in time. Thank you Hobotech!!!
I don’t know anything about this stuff. I’m a widow and do not know how to operate or maintain my current gas powered generator. Just wanted something easy to use that would be big enough to run a fairly large freezer in the event of an outage. Was hoping to charge with solar panels in an emergency but sounds like maybe they don’t charge so fast. Any recommendations? Or is this just too complicated for someone like me?
The new Delta 3 + is relatively light weight and can be charged with solar. The Delta 2 Max is heavier (53 lbs) and has twice the battery capacity (2024 watts). Both are also great options. The DP3 and Delta Pro are also good, but heavier.
hi. thx for this nice analysis . maybe u can answer to my question. I live in Europe and bought the Delta pro 3 European model 220v. I wanted to know if the ecoflow hub 50 amp, that can connect 2 batteries,is compatible with my European model, or it only works with 110v USA models? thx a lot
Is drying clothes your biggest concern when the power goes out? Most people think about providing light to see, a means to cook food and keep your fridge and freezer from spoiling their contents. If and only if you have all those things covered with tons of power to spare would I even consider just washing laundry and you can always just hang stuff up to dry, so no one would probably ever use any power station to run their dryer in a power outage
Using the sp2 to connect a dp3 along with 2-dp linked with the latest dual voltage hub doesn’t work. It generated an incompatible battery error. This is with the latest firmware .
Hobo Tech, you are my number one channel for sure I have a question. Can you test how large units like this handle a 20amp 120v output when plugged into a 15amp 120v wall outlet? My use case is plugging an RV into a regular wall outlet, and using the battery as a buffer for when the AC kicks on. I've seen 4 outcomes: 1) Merge wall and battery, so 75% power comes from the wall. DPU and DP3 are supposed to do this with X-Fusion (I haven't tested) 2) Turn off charging so 100% comes from the battery. Goal Zero Yeti 4000 does this which is functional but drains the battery quickly. 3) Limit the output to 15 amps even through it could do 20 amps if unplugged from the wall. My Jackery 2000 does not this. 4) Allow a full 20 amps to flow from the wall (!!!), overloading the input. An original Delta Pro did this, which is extremely unsafe. I'm curious how Bluetti, Pecron, and others handle this case.
