I love “learning to lose” statement by Prince William. Nowadays, kids get a trophy just for participating and don’t know the true meaning of winning or losing.
Naaah, as someone who grew up with participation trophys, none of us thought they were for anything. They are just a keepsake. Like a concert ticket or festival bracelet. A "I did this fun thing with my buddies" kind of thing. They don't have any impact either way (making things worse or better). Just a fun little thing.
You can see how Mike Tindall is so proud of being part of the Royal Family and that he has undying respect for his mother-in-law. The Princess Royal is quite a personality, such a combination of Queen Elizabeth and Prince Phillip and her sports knowledge is incredible. Catherine, Princess of Wales, is so effortlessly elegant. Notice how everyone stops to listen when she begins to speak. More so than the others, actually, and I think that is because there is the expectation that you know it will be a nugget of truth, honesty and wisdom. She does not just speak to hear herself speak, nor does Ann, Princess Royal, and they do not try to dominate the room. She (Catherine) is graceful in her mannerism and in her speech. What an awesome Queen William has picked for himself. She will be remembered. Princess Ann is also so very valued, her opinion matters and it comes through. These women play a very important role, and do so beautifully. As an American with Sussex and Scottish ancestry, I am proud of the Royals in this room!

This is the Royal video I didn’t know I needed! So funny and down to earth. And as an American, Prince William’s comment about more people needing to learn to lose was spot on. 😳❤
@MsRadred6116 An absolute pleasant surprise to hear that, wasn't it? That is how William and Catherine's children are being raised. William quite possibly learned that from the Middletons, who are lovers of sport. I hope parents will watch and be excited again about getting children off screens and playing team sports! Outside! That's healthy for mind, body, and soul.
@@griffinmathers929 I would say Prince William learned about how to lose by playing rubgy at school well before he met any of the Middletons. I do think they have helped to show him how a family loves and stays together through the good and the bad times.
Princess Anne is far and above my favorite royal. No assumptions, no entitlement, no conceit, just dutiful and dignified like her mother, and highly intelligent like her father.
Princess Anne "It's applying yourself, even when you don't want to." Well there is the nugget of gold right there!! She embodies that daily, doesn't she? I have such a respect for that. We need more of this. So many are deficient of this. How do we bring it back?
Anne, Princess Royal, is simply down to earth, poised, intelligent, articulate, and humorous, with the ability to talk knowledgeably on any subject and best of all she listens. The Kings' greatest family asset. Her Mother and Father live on through her.
Wow, such a great Podcast. Anne, William & Catherine appear so natural, relaxed and genuinely funny (and self depreciating) and their relationship with Mike is clearly very close and supportive.

I throughly enjoyed it and the personalities, knowledge, insights and family dynamic of mutual like and respect really shines through. Plus the interviewers were great!
55 year old American woman here and only watched because I LOVE Princess Anne and really wanted to see the family dynamic, but this has stirred my interest in rugby. Now I am headed down a rabbit hole. 🙂
A Family, not an Institution. William, Catherine, Anne and Mike have the relationship of a family who respect each others’ opinion and trust each other unconditionally. Harold will be watching this and asking: I gave that up for whatttt?
Privileged people being entirely normal. What fun. Long-term fan of Anne, who showed up here with her usual commonsense, strong opinions, and dry (and playful) humor. Well done, all!
I have been a fan of Anne since I was a teenager and she was in the twentysomething age group. It just occurred to me that she is the one individual I would love to meet. With my luck, the encounter would go one of 2 ways: my brain would lose all knowledge of language, and I’d have to nod/shake my head yes/no and only smiling. If I tried to curtsy, I would fall over. OR I would go all “fan girl” and my words would flow out, politely, but unrestrictedly. it is so hard to be my father’s daughter(that fact has been pointed out to me by my sister and my adult children)
Love this free-flowing conversation. Not scripted, no sound bites. Everyone is relaxed and nobody is trying to upstage another person in the room. And very educational topic!
See Princess Anne, for whatever reason, was always painted to be a sour faced grump but she’s got a cracking sense of humour, she works incredibly hard and deserves a lot more respect than she gets. Great episode, really interesting!
As a Brit (of a certain age) I think we’ve all known about her sense of humour, ever since the attempted kidnapping and her being on ‘Question of Sport’. She’s always been known as hard working and I think she’s very well respected. I was impressed with William and Catherine too, how they interacted and their sense of humour
@@MaryB-tx2xq it’s more the younger generation that don’t give her the level of respect she deserves. They see her as stuffy and old fashioned but she’s very whitty, hardworking and intelligent. And I say that as technically a member of the younger generation but with an older brain haha!
she sometimes has a sour face on her, but people are multifaceted. She can be funny witty and also someone who doesn't suffer fools gladly = sometimes grumpy. Everybody has many sides to them. One moment of sourness doesn't define her, nor does one moment of humor.

@ltracy100 She has a fake posh accent, she is incoherent , awkward and boring. One would think after 20 years of moving in royal circles she would be more confident. Meghan steals the limelight because she is an erudite, articulate, and confident speaker. Simples. She is a joy to listen to and watch, only insecure, jealous, racist people have a problem with her.
Mike Tindall is good for William. He's like an older, protective, funny brother. And they're lucky to have Anne, always sensible and warm. Sport and horses and a sense of humour, keeps them all grounded and normal.

I do wish people would realize that praising and complimenting members of the Royal Family while having a dig at Harry and Meghan is actually an insult to the BRF. It’s saying they’re only good in comparison. I know you, and so many of the commenters here who did that, don’t mean it that way, but it is the effect. H&M are no longer Royals and have effectively divorced themselves from the family - therefore are no longer members of the family by their own design. Supporting the British Royal Family is about the Royals & their actual, active extended family, not how they are in contrast to their two worst members. Especially when they have nothing to do with each other. Families who have ex-family members like H&M don’t continuously compare themselves to them. Frankly, they don’t even continue to think about them. We shouldn’t either. The comparisons are for H&M to suffer, not the Royals.
I somewhat agree with you memyselfandi9282 I don’t think it is right to compare regardless of the circumstances. It’s putting down the supposed non favoured and judging, no one has the right.

I love how they aren’t trying to talk over each other. They are all waiting their turn. So refreshing! This is why I love listening to the British broadcasts!
Called manners and respect. This is something that all parents and other people in your life should instil in one another, to allow points of view to be aired, and listened to. It’s called communication, using the benefits of language (and vocabulary) to get your points across - be that in a light hearted conversation like this, or something more serious. Conversation is an art, and this is a fantastic example of it, and it makes it not only enjoyable for the participants, but a pleasure for the audience too.
I’m American and know absolutely nothing about rugby, but I would listen to all these people discuss different types of potting soil. It’s so refreshing hearing adults discussing anything like adults-speaking in proper English and everyone taking their turn and not speaking over each other or trying to be overly witty and catty. So nice.
I feel sorry for you if an adult discussion like this is not the norm in your experience. I grew up assuming that eating meals as a family and associated discussion was the norm, only to find out as I got into my teens that eating meals as a family wasn’t the norm among families of friends and schoolmates. After most dinners, conversation lasted ling after everyone finished eating. When I went to college, discussions among family was what I missed most. When I became a parent, my spouse & I continued this practice of family meals with the new family we established. I have found that family meals are even more not the norm today than when I was young. Interacting in a family is the first manner in which humans begin learning and integrating socializing skills. To the extent there is less interaction in a family environment, socialization becomes more challenging. The fact that so much interaction among people occurs by typing into a device and not speaking directly to other humans, the fact that socialization skills are lacking by many.
As an American as well, I agree .. so refreshing to listen to an adult discuss. The Royals don't throw or interject "who they are" at any time. The American "do you know who I am" and sense of entitlement is such a turn off, along with shouting and one-upping.
Who doesn’t want to have a pint with the Princess Royal? Wonderful platform to see the family dynamic in action, talking a shared love of sport - a rare treat. Great episode!
This interview is great ! It’s lovely to see this family dynamic between Princess Anne, William, Catherine and princess Anne’s son in-law ! No false pretences or snobbery it’s great to see
I love that Catherine and Mike both come from commoner backgrounds, but you can't really tell. They have so much respect for their in-laws and each other that it would be easy to believe they were born into this life. I can't think of a time they ever really embarrassed the crown or said anything negative about the institution. It's just lovely to see two people blend in so nicely with an environment that could be quite challenging to adapt to.
They both seem to have great relationships with their families and are quite family-oriented, however, I think there's more to it than that. Heroes and villains often have similar backstories, but their response to it is what makes or breaks them. I think Mike and Catherine are just genuinely good people with no motive or agenda other than for their families and their subjects.@@vickiemcilwain8183

Princess Anne proves once again how the ‘spare’ role can have huge and positive impact, and be an essential support to the monarch. A totally relevant role. It is all down to the character of the ‘spare’ as to how well they fulfil the wonderful opportunity that role gives. Well done Princess Anne 👏
You are so right. If each of us just do what we can, even if we are the "spare", our role will go down well. The Princess Royal will go down in history as a real right human! Something we can all aspire to! What a woman!
Not sure if anyone would agree with me.. but I suddenly feel a sense of comfort and joy watching this.. The Princess Royal reminds me so much of the late queen. I feel she will live long in her children and grandchildren etc. Such a beautiful dynamic between all three interviewees… superb podcast!! 🙌🏾
Agree100%.. & some of the little asides, show that they've been a close knit family throughout.. (e.g. Princess Anne talking about playing & chasing William when he was younger etc)
And also talking about Potato Sac races at Balmoral dragging the kids along lol must be wonderful when they are all away together just getting to relax and enjoy each other. Sadly this was a somber trip to Balmoral for them all…..
The Princess Royal is brilliant! The depth of her knowledge and articulate comments are second to none, and she is so humble as to not boast about her knowledge.
SHE should have been queen. Cath is waving her foot constantly because she's not getting a word in. Long hair isn't enough to compete with knowledge and flair.
Moving her foot perhaps due to nerves. She also swings her head a lot but I do think she’s doing better at public speaking. She definitely cannot compare to Princess Anne wit, confidence and intellect. Yet Catherine is representing her country as best as she can and it seems sincere.
The Princess Royal, Princess Anne, is brilliant, I am so proud that she is who she is. A wonderful woman, who doesnt get the credit I believe she deserves.
Princess Anne is a remarkable woman and you can see the influence from Prince Phillip and Queen Elizabeth in her so profoundly. And to see William and Catherine interact in such a relaxed way was fantastic. These kind of scenarios where they can be themselves and laugh would be good for all the Royals to connect with all of us. Thank You for doing this at a time where we , all around the world, are thinking about the loss of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles.
This is why we do need the Royals. I’m a millennial and person of color and I believe in keeping the good parts of our traditions alive. I love their humility, their vocabulary, their manners, the class and style. We should keep these examples around. We know what the alternatives are 🫤

What a wonderful thing!!!!!! I didn't know I needed to see Mike, Anne, Kate and Will together so much. I LOVED IT!! ❤
Me too
Agreed!
Dear God Princess Anne knows her rugby. So unpretentious and engaging. True royals are a class act to watch.
Princess MAN.
@@tobehonest7541just because you’re jealous she has demonstrated more courage than you’ll ever know while still being very much a lady is no reason for your idiotic comment.
@@cleverkittn "courage" 🤣
you mean she's never worked in her life or had to pay for rent or heat
@@tobehonest7541inform yourself perhaps before sniping. Look to her kidnap attempt if you question her courage, or her Olympic success etc etc. She works Very hard - just because you don’t know what she’s does doesn’t make it nonexistent - it’s called being proficient & humble. (you’re looking a bit like a child with it’s hand over it’s eyes saying nothing is happening 😉)
I'd say little Louis will be the Rugby 🏉 player. Charlotte 🐎 horse's.
I love this podcast. Everyone was so relaxed and comfortable with each other. No one was trying to outdo anyone. More programmes like this would be great as it really shows a happy informal and happy side to the Royals. Prince William and Princess Kate were very natural and obviously in love and secure in their relationship. Love love love to see more insights to the Royal family with programmes like this.
See how princess Catherine and Prince William sit they don't need to be all over each other in an interview on TV to show the world how much they love each other and I love that princess Anne is in this interview
@@memyselfandi9282There is nothing like an ex-family! Stop creating ugly words and vocabulary to divide families. Even when family members distance themselves from each other, they still remain family whether they like it or not! So there …
@@memyselfandi9282 erm, not quite.
He can be ‘just call me harry,’ all he wants, but he is royal by BIRTH.
Only an act of parliament, signed by either his father or his brother, can remove that.
Now THAT is how a podcast should be, Absolutely brilliant, NO me me me, no whining , no victimhood , loved the banter, and gosh Anne knows her rugby.
Why would it be any whinny behavior? They aren’t being mistreated in anyway and sitting on billions of $$$$
Speaking about H & MM.
Princess Anne is such a remarkable woman--so poised, such a clear thinker and speaker. I am not really into rugby, but I loved just listening to all six of them for 50 minutes!
Very like the late Queen
I love how they aren’t trying to talk over each other. They are all waiting their turn. So refreshing! This is why I love listening to the British broadcasts!
Called manners and respect. This is something that all parents and other people in your life should instil in one another, to allow points of view to be aired, and listened to. It’s called communication, using the benefits of language (and vocabulary) to get your points across - be that in a light hearted conversation like this, or something more serious.
Conversation is an art, and this is a fantastic example of it, and it makes it not only enjoyable for the participants, but a pleasure for the audience too.
And being respectful of each other’s opinions
And Princess Anne brings up Formula One. Why??? Oh, because she’s DONE IT!!!😂😂😂😂! She is truly one of a kind! Fabulous!
She's what now?! When? I must know this! If you didn't think she could get any more awesome...
I’m American and know absolutely nothing about rugby, but I would listen to all these people discuss different types of potting soil. It’s so refreshing hearing adults discussing anything like adults-speaking in proper English and everyone taking their turn and not speaking over each other or trying to be overly witty and catty. So nice.
All I "know" was an episode of Friends. Ross pretending he knew how to play, then constantly getting the tar beaten out of him :)
"..types of potting soil..." Loved it 🤣 👏
As an American as well, I agree .. so refreshing to listen to an adult discuss. The Royals don't throw or interject "who they are" at any time. The American "do you know who I am" and sense of entitlement is such a turn off, along with shouting and one-upping.
It's kinda like our football
Who doesn’t want to have a pint with the Princess Royal? Wonderful platform to see the family dynamic in action, talking a shared love of sport - a rare treat. Great episode!
You do know she doesn't drink alcohol, right?
It was not meant literally 😊
I don't think she drinks but maybe she'd be down for some wax &/or edibles.😊
This interview is great ! It’s lovely to see this family dynamic between Princess Anne, William, Catherine and princess Anne’s son in-law ! No false pretences or snobbery it’s great to see
yes it is nice to see out in public and behind closed doors they act the same no difference. nothing fake about them.
Princess Anne, the Princess Royal is surely the most underrated of the royal family, as a royal & person in general.
Some people are just ,born with class Mike and Catherine must have lovely families unlike someone else who married into the family
Kate is not from a commoner background. I dont know any commoners who grew up in a tudor manor house.
Commoner in this context means somebody with working class ancestors and no titles.@@scottmeehan2422
Every time I see Mike and Zara I think these 2 are just married. And Mike is very, very respectful with QChIII and helpful.
I am not a Rugby person, but this was so fascinating, listening to such wonderful intelligent people. Well done Mike .
I fully agree! What a lovely program! And I don’t know anything about Rugby, which will change now. Delightful, intelligent people, all of them! 🎉😂
I felt the same, so looking forward to learn more about rugby now. Also interesting to hear about their knowledge and personal experiences in rugby and other sports, as the conversation progresses. Great personalities and also a brilliant way to introduce the Rugby season.
Brilliant! Just brilliant! 👏 👏. This is how you produce a podcast. Catherine is so beautiful and humble, Anne is warm and knowledgeable, and William just oozes leadership 😊
I’m a South African, but it is wonderful to see this “normal” interaction between the whole group. Yes I agree about the Royals roles in the conversation. Thank you.
Royal family’s press team need to take a look at this and realise this is the most relatable they’ve been in years, fantastic pod guys!!!!!!! This is how you do it!!
I agree❤❤❤
🎯🎯🎯
BINGO!
Spot on. Also imo she was inspirational in way she supported and helped her mum out after death of her father.
You are so right. If each of us just do what we can, even if we are the "spare", our role will go down well. The Princess Royal will go down in history as a real right human! Something we can all aspire to! What a woman!
Princess Anne is an absolute gem! Incredibly down to earth with a wonderfully dry sense of humour. 🙏
The rapport between prince william, princess catherine, princess anne, and mike is lovely ❤ Shows how close they are ❤❤❤
100% agree
Me too. Looks to me that Mike and Prince William get on well

Princess Anne is remarkable. So smart and so grounded.
Agree 👍 🎉
Agree
Yep 💯
And also talking about Potato Sac races at Balmoral dragging the kids along lol must be wonderful when they are all away together just getting to relax and enjoy each other. Sadly this was a somber trip to Balmoral for them all…..
The Princess Royal is brilliant! The depth of her knowledge and articulate comments are second to none, and she is so humble as to not boast about her knowledge.
She is such an underrated star. Check out her interview with Mr Parkinson ❤ back in the 80s, it really shows her wit and style, so wonderful ❤
SHE should have been queen. Cath is waving her foot constantly because she's not getting a word in. Long hair isn't enough to compete with knowledge and flair.
I watched more interviews with her and your comment could consistently fit them all. Marvelous woman.
Moving her foot perhaps due to nerves. She also swings her head a lot but I do think she’s doing better at public speaking. She definitely cannot compare to Princess Anne wit, confidence and intellect. Yet Catherine is representing her country as best as she can and it seems sincere.
@@elizabethwilk9615 True, someone has to do it.
What a brilliant pod cast, Catherine ? Beer Pong? Catherine is a legend !
👌🙂🏴
50 minutes. Adult Britons talking in a group. Not one 'f.....g'. Unbelievable!!! Wonderful show!!
This is why we do need the Royals. I’m a millennial and person of color and I believe in keeping the good parts of our traditions alive. I love their humility, their vocabulary, their manners, the class and style. We should keep these examples around. We know what the alternatives are 🫤
My grandfather worked with steel and told us - steel doesn't like bad words. His conversation was absolutely clear and classic. My is f***g . All around taking like that, we need to think about. Thank you, for your comment 🙏
Oh how I loved this podcast!! I love how unscripted it is. Princess Kate having trained with England Rugby, Princess Anne, driving F1 car, Mike Tindal having high-jump record, Prince Willuam trying to beat Italian dad at school's athletics!! I loved, loved, loved this. What an awesome royal family!!! 😍😍😍😍❤
you missed Princess Anne be the fastest at running round corners😬
And have 100 meter races with Zara, absolutely brilliant
Me too!
Excellent podcast! Watched it 5 times! The more I watch the funnier it gets. What an amazing group together. My favorite 2 parts are Princess Catherine’s reaction to Mike high jump skills - you can tell she will make him high jump for their next get together. Challenge accepted! And second; Princess Anne’s “I was brilliant!” As a mom to two athletes 😂
I would vote this as the podcast of the year! Maybe decade!
That was epic self deprecating. British humour at its best.
Princess Anne looks at the Princess of Wales with such proud eyes, I loved this episode.
It was lovely to see how Anne pulled Catherine into the conversation and listened. She seems very fond of her.
@@yves2694 I was a little surprised how Catherine cut Ann off. Catherine needs to relax, she looks very tense to me. Nevertheless, this is a great podcast, enjoyed it throughout. Mike inviting her mother-in-law is telling us a lot about the family.
@@veraboltonCatherine is naturally shy, she gets nervous, she can't relax, that's her personality and character. She's still awesome.
@@jojijosette5946 What's your point? I think I said the same: she needs to relax 🙄
I wouldn't call her shy at all, she's actually an extremely confident woman. However, she seems to be very conscious about her appearance which gives her a lot of unnecessary anxiety. She should learn from Ann, who won the heart of the nation not with her appearance
This is fantastic - not one of the Royals are trying to be front & centre, they have an obvious love & are very easy with each other. Mike T clearly fits in well & has a great relationship with his Mother-in-Law & his wife’s cousins. No egos, just mutual respect for each other. William & Catherine are knowledgeable of the sports they represent & have a great sense of fun. Literally quietly going about their duties & promoting the Royal Family. Well done everyone. 🌹🌹❤️❤️
Irrevelent : Mike should have the role model for harry to learn how to live private life
Meghan is. Not worth-to have harry in the wrong way in their life .
Back to the subject. Rugby men. Kudos !!! Mike good job !
What a beautiful podcast. A breath of fresh air. Polite, respectful and utterly entertaining. Such a rarity these days on the internet. No trolls, disagreements or disrespect. Well done.
Its rare on main stream tv as well..
Ugh, whatever 🙄
YES!!
I love Princess Catherine 👑💎❤️
