@@gogobre8803 I asked for Gala Abend and Drehscheibe. No results. But it’s a few years ago. But maybe one could start a new round.
Maybe if it has an official background TV stations are more open.

Sign me up! I'd love something like this. I've always enjoyed all of her German language songs, and was surprised she didn't have more success there. I'd buy an official rerelease of these songs on CD as a box set with a book of pictures, vinyl covers, recording dates, a DVD with clips that survived, maybe a recent interviev with Agnetha or a standalone CD or/and other Formates (Vinyl/Tape) IN A HEARTBEAT!

As for favourites of her German recordings, two songs come to my mind immediately: "Mein schönster Tag" and "Ich suchte Liebe bei dir". I think she sounds just wonderful on these two ballads. Quite amazing considering her young age and that it was a foreign language. Love her

Wow! I may be English but I adore her singing her songs in a different language. Obviously I don’t know what she’s singing about but that doesn’t matter to me. I just love the different songs and her voice is so beautiful and appealing. When here on TH-cam I remember her singing and the Swedish words were being shown. Well, I pronounced the words just like I saw them, and my mum(RIP) thought that I could speak Swedish! I told her a little bit of a “white lie” cos I murmured and said yes, I do know a bit of Swedish!!! Has anyone else done this or am I just a con- artist (if that’s the right word to use) and pretending I know Swedish when I basically don’t even know one word of it? ( But anyway, I thought it was fun)!!!🎉😂😮😢😊😅😇🙃🙃🙃🙏💕🌈 🌟🌟🌟🦮🦢🍀❤️ x

Of course I would love to have her German songs on CD or LP! Or imagine a 7'' singles box - a guy can dream.:) The original singles a hard to find and expensive, especially in good condition. To be honest her German songs for the most part were not as joyful and enchanting as her competitor France Gall's Schlager recordings, but Agnetha's angelic voice "sells" them anyway. That said "Ich suchte Liebe bei dir", "Geh mit Gott" und "Tausend Wunder" are actually beautiful! On the other hand "Ein kleiner Mann in einer Flasche" is hilarious, I wonder if she understood what she did there.:)

I already have the full-CD ('94 Label: Royal, and you can still buy it; and mine needs replacement because I listened so much to it some tracks have interrupments (LOL)) with the end '60s German songs from back then via the ABBA-FANCLUB, and was titled "Geh mit Gott" (and is ALSO one of the German TRACKS on the CD, and the MELODY of Geh mit Gott is EXACTLY THE SAME AS a very well-known song from 71 by JOAN BAEZ (RIP) and ENNIO MORRICONE (RIP) with as title "Here's to you" (and are findable on TH-cam) and are the composers. Who's the writer of the melody -Agnetha or Ennio or John Baez, or someone else;I don't know 100% sure). The full-CD has a PIC of Agnetha's face in a medaillon as cover, AND I also am lucky to have all German vinyl sngles, dating from the end of the sixties. These are VERY RARE TO FIND. The Geh mit Gott song and the songs 'Wie der Wind' and Komm doch zu mir and Ich denk an dich are imo not "schlager" but ballads, but the others are schlager, like a.o..Concerto d'Amore (=Italian trackname !) or Ein kleine Mann in eine Flassche or Wer screibt heut noch Liebesbriefe.. NEW FOR ME (!) HOWEVER IS what you tell about the NON-RELEASED (!) Hokuspokus-song and the several non released songs in German, you mention. A Box set with the 16 first German songs + the hokus-pokussong, AND these several unreleased German songs would be a HISTORICAL RELEASE, because it would be 6 or 7 more German songs we don't know yet !!! I can only say : thank you Agnetha for these plans of bringing the already released and the not ever earlier released (!) German songs of '69 in a box-set. Hopefully with the lyrics (and maybe english translation of the lyrics) in an added booklet, and a DVD as you propose, Bobby's Brother.7 songs we didn't know yet, awesome ! It's nearly as good as 7 ABBA songs of the 70s, that would be found somewhere in a draw and would be released after more then 50 years. WOW !!

    • @Stevend2be

I add something else about the "Geh mit Gott-song". The song "Here's to you" with the same melody by Joan Baez and Ennio Morricone (1971) has also an a bit longer title : "Here's to you, Nicola and Bart". Who are Nicola and Bart ??? It are historical persons of the 1920's. It were 2 Italians who emigrated to the US. They were kinda anarchistic, and were later even sentenced in ERROR to death. ANYHOW : You can find documentaries about Nicola and Bart, or better with their full names "Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Venzetti" on TH-cam (these names are also on the SLEEVE of the "Geh mit Gott"-vinyl single if Agnetha. If Agnetha isn't the composer of the Geh mit Gott-song one wonders why she took that melody, and on the vinyl-single-sleeve there's referral to these famous anarchists and the story about them. There are even trailers and a documentary about the lives of Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Venzetti and one of the docus is here : watch?v=nQfHHixlGrI ! And nobody else then the grreek Georges Moustaki played a French--Spanish version watch?v=nzyEPbxvBlA with the Berlin Orchestra , and MIREILLE MATTHIEU (!) made a FULL FRENCH version, of Here's to you, Nicola and Bart findable on youtube watch?v=SWM6gvFBWiE . (She also made a French version of "The winner takes it all", with as French title "Bravo tu as gagné" , which translates into english in 'Bravo, you have won' also findable on TH-cam watch?v=GzszhYf29WE !) . The group "IL VOLO" who became 2nd or 3rd for Italy on Eurovision Song Contest of some years ago ARE in their recent concert also singing "Here's to you" (also findable on TH-cam : watch?v=FP7_9Wmx9iI ). Who likes electronic keyboard and acoustic guitar, do listen to this youtuber : watch?v=kO2pTfUGF8I , and following version has already 4,6 million views : watch?v=vp420cZZ0c4 . ANYHOW : I would LIKE IT EXTREMELY MUCH IF AGNETHA WOULD RECORD ANOTHER TIME "Geh mit Gott", but the english version "Here's to you", or even BETTER an english translation of "Geh mit God", so "Go with God".

Anyway, it was a disaster back then: a German producer had brought her to Berlin from Sweden and wanted her to sing schlager-songs in German. And I recorded one or two songs with her. Nothing came of it. I later heard that she hated singing in German. Quite a weird thing. I couldn't really understand why a Swedish woman singing in German should be successful. But wouldn't it be wonderful to have the German songs she recorded on a cd in immaculate quality?! And I heard her on a youtube Abba clip speak some German, so I've wondered if she speaks German too? Let's get this idea in motion!

You mention german tv performances, but what I find strange is that there are hardly any tv performances of 60s Agnetha at all .. She must have been performing some of her "svensktoppen" hits at one point, in sweden, ingront of a camera. Considering how many top charting songs she released in the period before ABBA (1967-72). Very good channel you got by the way😜

That's a good point and very true. It's bizarre that there is next to nothing of Agnetha on Swedish TV from that period. Whenever Agnetha (and Frida) were on TV in these early years, they would record and perform "exclusive" songs, for example on the 1969 TV special where Agnetha met Björn. There are at least a handful of TV performances listed on abbaontv.com, with Agnetha performing some of her songs, but nothing seems to have survived or left the archives since. It would be mind-blowing to see that footage. Thanks for the nice feedback for my channel!

Even if the original mastertapes are lost, with today's technology they can work wonders. Just listen to the "new" Beatles song, where John Lennon's voice was lifted from an old cassette and was washed digitally. The same can be done with old vinyl records.

Honestly, musically it's just a fan collector interest because it's her worst material except the classic great song (originally sung by Joan Baez) "Geh mit Gott" and few ballads as "Wie der Wind" or "Mein schönster Tag". A nice graphic box of vinyls containing a reprint of all her singles both swedish & german could satisfy a die hard fan but otherwise, it's sill easy to find them to listen once; I really doubt that the unrealeased songs could be very much interesting. We are very far from the level quality of songs made by Frida. But maybe the germans would have another point of view as it's a possibility to listen her voice in their own language, as I appreciate to listen sometimes the french unique version of Waterloo.

I don't know if you have listened to them, but if not, you should definitely listen to some of Agnetha's German ballads. Two examples: "Mein schönster Tag", and "Ich suchte Liebe bei dir". I don't think you want to miss them. For me, it was always the great thing about ABBA and their members, that they manage to cross language-barriers - the language doesn't matter, in the end. You don't even have to understand a word, their voices lead you through emotions.
