I believe what makes Agnetha the greatest female singer of the past 60 years is simply the emotion she puts into every note on every song she sings. You dont just hear her sing. You feel her sing. In your Heart and Soul. She brings out emotions in you and everyone listening to her sing. Abbas recording engineer Michael Tretow discribed it best. " Agnetha has the unique ability to Cry with her voice when she sings". I couldn't agree more. And then couple that with her Face as she sings. All those emotions are there for all to see. From her incredibly gorgeous smile to her sad frowns and furrowed brow in tear jerker songs. She gives it to us from her heart to ours. Not only has it been almost 40 years, but their music is a masterpiece well and you can recognize them instantly. I am now 60 years old and still have their first LP and old cassettes that I play on my old turntable here at home. I am extremely grateful that I experienced this moment. In private she would be like any woman, have good and bad days, need lots of support and encouragement, like we all do really. I always thought her failure to find romantic happiness is down to the men who have the wealth and connections to meet her socially, they cannot see beyond their own egos. They don't want Agnetha Faltskog. They want the blond out of ABBA, and when they discover she isn't this sweet, melancholy girl they don't like it. In As I Am, she says she is a tiger under the blond hair, and her claws come out, there's an interview too, where the interviewer asks about decision making in ABBA, and then who backed down first if the decision wasn't unanimous. In As I Am, she says she is a tiger under the blond hair, and her claws come out, there's an interview too, where the interviewer asks about decision making in ABBA, and then who backed down first if the decision wasn't unanimous. Agnetha said "Not me." and I feel that says it all. I'm a dedicated Agnetha follower, but I'd never go to look for her in Sweden like some have done.
It breaks my heart thinking how she has been treated over the years, and how careful she has to be.
