Beautiful work and a very unique machine! Just got myself into a hell of a project on a Royal 10. It’s good to see your videos, they give me motivation

That definitely appears to be a rare beast. Thank you for explaining what was written on the brass plate appearing on the front of the machine (I'm sure I wasn't the only one who was curious).

What an extraordinary machine you have restored to beauty! Outstanding historical importance, given the ability to type in two distinct alphabets.
Do you happen to know more about the provenance and history of its ownership before it came to Canada?
It is a pity though that the camera keeps hovering instead of being in a fixed holder. We miss the fine details. There is so much more to see but it is blurry.

Thank you very much, Daniel. With such feedback I feel inclined to do a better job of reviewing this typewriter. So please stay tuned for that. It was a spur of the moment review. Hands-on early 2010's TH-cam technique. I should be past this now. ;)
But replying to your form question, alas I do not know the history other than the placard on the front of the typewriter and the information the Internet is able to provide for me.

Holy cow! What a cool typewriter! Thank you for showing us this. I have a 1949 Adler 46 with the thrust action mechanism, so I think the 1940 date is reasonable and even likely, although I don't believe the Typewriter Database is not complete for Adler (it shows no Adler 46 before 1953). Two full alphabets (upper and lower case) in one typewriter--without changing anything out, like a shuttle on a Hammond--blows my mind. Does anyone know of a regular front-stroke pivoting typebar typewriter with more than 3 characters on a slug?

Thank you very much for your insight! Really appreciate it. Every bit of information always helps along diagnosing a mystery or peeling back the story of cool history such as this. I currently don't know of any typewriters such as you described, but know for a fact they are out there. The Remington Noiseless Standard had two slugs on one type-bar...not sure if that counts.

@@dr.typewriter-venneburgtyp121 I was thinking of the Noiseless too. I think it counts!

Hi Mr. Plante..Hope you are fine and are off for a brisk start for the new year..
Do you have a Nakajima 8100 Model? I purchased one the other day, and wanna know more about the mechanics of it...If you could make a video on it, would be obliged.

Thank you very much for your inquiry. Alas I do not own such a model, since they came off the production-line only recently and were not really an export model to Canada. Should I come across one, I will let you know!

Question? What books do you recommend, to service typewriters? I have a few typewriters and I'd like to service them myself. Thankyou

The Typewriter Repair Bibles series is a must for anyone who'd like instructional literature on the care and servicing of typewriters.

It's a marvellous machine restored by an expert. The videography is very poor. Please use a tripod, set up at various distances, so we can fully appreciate your fine work.
