Very cool for, Jeff Homburg, to show off his collection. As an Oklahoman, I have played Lyons many times, and cursed it many times, lol, but ultimately want to thank him for all his work.
Wow, you were in that treasure trove of disc golf history. Hopefully, you recorded more for a later date, where you would point out the significant improvements in discs and baskets and what those changes meant to Disc Golf. Really cool that you are in Who’s Who. Great to see the moment you got in the President’s Cup, a Major tournament. Show them you are best of the best! So glad you’re playing on the US Tour again!
When you are here for the Open at Austin, you've got my personal invitation as CoPresident of the Bartholomew Park Disc Golf Club to pop over and play a round at the newly refreshed, but still the oldest disc golf course in Texas. It's only about five minutes away from the Pennick Course on 51st St. Be sure to bring your best buds for that round though. I'd love to be your guide through the course and tell you some of the history. Bring your video crew for this one. You won't regret it. Bart is cool and funky.
This has the potential to be the best discgolf vlog out there. So much information, history and entertainment in a single package. Nice work boss, looking forward to the next one!
I started playing in 1998 when I was 19 at Hansen Park in New Brighton Minnesota. They still have the same cone baskets they had in the 1970's. Would love to see you play that course. Great video Scott!
The "Disc vault", the entire history and collection of every disc every... It's just in "some dudes house"... Sometimes I have high regards for PDGA, sometimes I realize it's not all that "professional". We need Scott or someone to make a video to show the entire collection. Maybe not the story of every disc, but at least as a catalogue.
You might be surprised, I'm a professional archaeologist and I know much more about museum curation standards than other disc golfers. In addition, I've donated a complete collection of all discs I've tested for permanent curation by the PDGA in you want to study this collection some time.
You have such a uniquely awkward stance at the beginning of every video. And it's also very recognizable. It's practically part of your brand. I think you might be able to trademark it. Love it!
Jeff NEEDS a warehouse to line his collection for display. This would be an amazing museum. Maybe all the well paid players and manufacturers can come together and make that happen or something.
I have always said there's not enough humour in disc golf. Great that you are upping the percentage, Scott. Best of luck for the season, from Nu Zilnd! :)
It’s nearly criminal that this huge and hugely important cache of discs and baskets is squirreled away in this fine gentleman’s house. I appreciate his discipline and sacrifice to hold onto these things, but they absolutely should be on display somewhere.
In general-No. A good and generous thought. I commend the idea, but those baskets and discs are history; they belong in a Disc Golf museum. (Maybe the unimportant baskets and discs can be donated.)
Yes, it is, but I think it's the only one on a stand that makes it both portable (well sort of, it's by far the heaviest basket in my backyard) and elevated.
@@airboundcreative wishing the best for Scott. The skins game where he chose to donate his winnings moved him up in my mind two spots to number one. My nephew has autism and throwing discs is something I am getting him into and he is absolutely loving it. Keep up the good work and we are ready to see Scott standing on a lot of podiums this year.
Since when does Scott wear neckties? Now? He's asking for one in Japanese, lol. On a more serious note, That's awesome about seeing the guy to approved the discs and baskets.
2026 is 50 year anniversary of PDGA, Create 3 world class courses (North America, Europe, Asia) every pro has to make bag with discs from every era, every course has a different historical basket. TERRIBLE idea for the collector, but what a spectacle for the sport
Scott Stokely is the history professor we didn't know we needed. Seriously, how many other pros are talking the history of the sport in their media?
Nate Sexton's podcast had some absolute legends of the sport on who go in depth in the history and their experiences in the past I highly recommend!
Brian mace’s does the “Goodtimes hour” podcast where he interviews old heads.
Very cool for, Jeff Homburg, to show off his collection. As an Oklahoman, I have played Lyons many times, and cursed it many times, lol, but ultimately want to thank him for all his work.
Loved the intro!
It was so much fun playing a round together the other day.
Sorry about the multiple takes too 😉
LOL

What an interesting guy Jeff is. The RPM Helix is the GOAT IMHO.

I love watching your videos because I think we all strive for more history of the sport we all love, it’s so exciting! Love it!
Excited for this series !

I would freak out if I could look through those boxes . To get to sit down with this gentleman and hear his disc golf stories would be amazing.
This sounds sick! Can't wait for what you have in the pipeline!
Absolutely love hearing about the history of Disc Golf!!! Love the video. I would like to see a little bit longer ones in the future if possible.
Scott, thanks for doing this. I'm really excited to watch the whole series.

The Flying Disc Museum has photos of the full catalog
And labels of every disc including some renamed discs like all old Lightning Discs and similarly discs once PDGA approved but not anymore.
Honestly the Disc Vault could be a museum. I’ve known of others that have historic collections but Jeff is the SOURCE!

Wow that’s a cool collection to check out! Amazing
Great way to start your video series. Thanks for sharing.
Very cool! Thank you Scott.
Great stuff, a lot of fun to watch, already looking forward to the next episode! ❤

Hell yeah Stokely!
I love this and can't wait for more🤙
I use an MVP black hole is my practice basket. It's great
There are baskets in Cassville Missouri at the aquatic center like nothing I’ve ever seen.
Great video. I would have loved to see some of the discs that failed for approval.
Holy crap would love to go sit down and run through all those boxes….this was a GREAT video idea
This is awesome!
Welcome to Tucson!!!
Hahahaha...I started out throwing Lightning discs. First ever tourney was worlds biggest 1992 and the disc I picked out was a Baracuda.
Jeff is awesome!!
That was cool.
Love this Scott!
Anyone else see the thumbnail and see Gannon?
Stoked to see a Stokely series!
Disc golf TH-cam needed this so bad. You’re like Huell Howeser for frolf
Lets go i am all in!!
Proud of ya bud!
Hi kendrew!
Amazing! I have 6 keys on my key chain and I only know that I know is my car key.
Always a 👍 from me!!! ✊
fantastic intro
Tell me we need a disc golf museum without telling me we need a disc golf museum.

Those baskets, could they be donated? Seems like a great opportunity. Maybe McBeth foundation?
In general-No.

Haha you rule Scott!
I am speechless.
Is that a hornings hideout basket on right when you guys first get out to the baskets? The yellow on with the solid cage
I believe it is! The HH3 one of if not the only homemade basked that’s PDGA approved
Yes, it is, but I think it's the only one on a stand that makes it both portable (well sort of, it's by far the heaviest basket in my backyard) and elevated.
Scott!! Are you doing any meet and greets while in AZ?! Im in the PHX area but willing to travel to meet my coach!!
Sorry I missed you!
That intro 😂😂😂
Z Fold looks small in the Stokely mitt.
Very cool history and behind the scenes look at the PDGA! Don’t fall for the Who’s who thing you! Scammmm
Brad Hayashi gave me one of my first discs before I had a bag yet. Don't slap him, he's the best guy ever!
The intro lmao!
I showed this to my wife to prove that I don't have a problem 😜
what about the "helix" baskets they had in new Zealand?
I see those blurred discs, unreleased discs im guessing?
Hmm, time will tell
8:19 what is the basket to the left ?
A local course has them.
I'm in.
I’d like to know how they are approved or rejected. What are the requirements or standards?
Stay tuned.. we may have shot that exact video while we were with Jeff.

Will you be at Idelwild this year?
Yes!
@@ScottStokelyDG can't wait.
I didn't see a Ronald McDonald basket in there, but I guess those weren't approved!
