I still don’t frickin understand all the hubbub about Spinel. She was literally unable to think for herself beyond being clingy until pink diamond died. As a ruler Pink absolutely made the right choice to leave her there until she decided to come back. It’s not like Pink knew she was going to end up starting a rebellion at that point. Smh

I understand where your coming from with pink making the right decision as a ruler , but leaving them and leading them to think your coming back is a worst feeling then them just telling you they dont want to be friends anymore. It just isn't right , and Rebecca sugar even confirmed that Rose Quartz/Pink wasnt very good. She was very irresponsible , and she did a lot more bad then good to a lot of gems. Though , Im not overly hyped about spinel , but as someone who has been in the situation of being ditched and left behind ((literally and metaphorically)) it doesnt feel great , and from experience I grew to develop Borderline personality disorder - which im pretty sure is what Spinel is suppose to have throughout the movie.
lxmom aid I’ve also been neglected, so I relate to how it feels as well- but at least with Spinel there was a reason behind it- and Pink May have very well intended to come back after she had proven herself with her first planet. Pink imo did a lot more good than bad, and I feel like people gloss over it. It just feels like people are only reacting emotionally and then not actually thinking about it further as time goes on and moving past it.

And I didnt completely rule out the fact that she didnt do good - she of course did in a few ways , but at the same time , she harmed many gems , and her son who had to finish her problems when he had nothing to do with them. I understand why you can question why people hype spinel so much , I dont really either - Im not really that into her. Though usually it's because people like looking for characters they relate to , and even if they cant , they feel bad for her ya know? 1. On a planet where everybody has their designated place and purpose don't you think someone would have bothered to tell her what she needs to do? 2. Gems are usually made in batches, not as unique individuals (that would be a waste of resources). Even if she is not fulfilling her purpose, another of her kind would be.

I have a theory that Padparadscha can't see or hear. The fact that she is completely unable to react to speech or gestures suggests that she has to rely solely on her past vision. I think she is still able to feel, however, since she grabs onto Lars when he picks her up. I believe she relys on her past vision becausr she is aware that she is unable to see or hear in real time

Padparadscha might have been affected in another way if she saw the shattering. Perhaps just as Sapphire did not see Ruby saving her life from Pearl, Padparadscha did not see the shattering of Pink Diamond. Due to not seeing it, it screwed with her powers, much like Steven’s healing powers not working for a while after Greg lied to him and said that his power didn’t work. Now her powers don’t work as they are supposed to anymore.

@@Isaac-ec6rw dude I know this is years late but even in the context of years ago why tf do people think pink is supposed to be red??? Pink is more primary than red, and the show was very clear on how gems relate to light for the diamonds to represent colors of the light.
I think her ability is so misunderstood that everyone bullies her into thinking she has delayed future vision when I believe that isn't her ability at all... I lay my facts out about her like this if you follow what she says she adds things to what you saw for example when Garnet was addressing the off colors she adds the context of the awkward part she didn't have too but she did. Then tells every one Lars is pushing the wrong button. with these as examples maybe her job was to add context or narration to the current time. likely she was a lie detector or someone who is used to fully understand what is going on in the now and not the future he utility is seen by Lars slightly when he was told by her about the "wrong button". I know these are two examples of what I'm talking about and there are so many more but to me these are the shining ones to align my theory because now look back she says steven is a HUMAN this confirms that he isn't a gem but just has one. After Lars goes pink she says AMAZING as if to say what brought him back wasn't a bad thing. When she talks about the warning alarm she add danger and adds gender pronouns to connie. its seems like I'm reaching out for this but I think I could be onto something.
Maybe Padparadschra was used to used to know what was going on with other gems, or even Diamonds, at that time. Because since they are still rare aristocrat gems it would be a waste to shatter her but she could still be used on the low key to know what was going on in different places on Home World or to help report in real time.

I meant that saphires like Padparadschra could report to a commander or even report themselves and use the video-ish communication to inform the right people. Ok side note. anyone remember Steven's birthday episode and how it was explaining how Steven hasn't changed since he was like 9 years old and then back in season one so many birthday's his age starts to fluctuate because of his mental state. Well recently hasn't Steven been acting pretty mature and at least acting really grown up compared to past seasons. like hes taking charge he has over come a lot of big milestones for himself. And then looking back the the crystal gems and how they looked before rose was gone. I think we might be looking at Steven possibly "reforming" soon or at least something like it. i feel like it's been building up for a while at least.
I think his birthday was supposed to be something like, "You're only as old as you feel." Or, "Growing older isn't an option, but growing up is." More or less, Steven's depression and anxiety don't make him grow up, its the age he feels. I doubt they would allow a "defective" gem on a Diamond's court. I really doubt it. Even if she was nice, the diamond court would never allow it. Yellow would never allow for defective gems to continue their lives, ESPECIALLY during the rebellion. Maybe Pink would keep her as a sort of pet in the same way humans were seen, but she would have her own Sapphire as well. Zircon says "Sapphires" not "Sapphire".

rose quartz didn't shatter pink diamond. Remember when blue diamond named the weapon that shattered her? She said it was a sword. But thinking back to the bismuth episode she remembered making that sword to only Peirce the body and never the gem. The sword Rose uses is incapable of shattering a gem only poofing them. therefore it couldn't have been rose quartz that shattered pink diamond with a sword considering that hers can't shatter.

I have PTSD and I can't look too far into the past without thinking of what gave me PTSD and fear it. So maybe Padparadscha saw the shattering of her Diamond and got PTSD thus stunting her abilities to look into the past without thinking of the shattering, which would trigger her?
I've always theorised that pink diamond was the most naive and compromising leader out of the diamonds, who wanted to please everyone. Acting like the kid sibling who doesn't know better, always asks too many questions and doing what they see right without knowing. Probably making her the most open minded of the diamonds, accepting the off-colours as long as they are willing to stay loyal to her. Seeing promising things within the off-colours and how they could help. Maybe she was using Padparadscha to inform her what was happening with the crystal gems and what they were planning. To get ahead of them on almost everything. Maybe she was building the human zoo as a compromise for Rose. An understanding of why earth was so amazing but still needing to 'change' it as it was what her old diamonds expected her to do. The zoo is just her way of saying "Look, we need this planet for my colon but we have built this place where some of most important parts of earth." To maybe bring a more peaceful route to end the fighting. Maybe she wanted to add more creatures before she was shattered. The other diamonds probably don't like it, Yellow wasn't interested in it in that will be all while Blue just saw it as something Pink was proud of. They just see her as someone who needs to learn how things are done. With all of the love pink diamond is getting, painting her this way and a possible peace-keeper does make her shattering more tragic no matter did the deed, from both sides. Someone who tried to stop the war without anymore violence. Someone who is very similar to Steven. But that's just a theory, a GEM theory. Thanks for reading.
ToMaiBetter thing is in the whole arc where Stevens dad was taken too the zoo we learned that it was more of a trophy cabinet for the large amount of human tribes she wiped out whether they fought back or not and kept some of the surviving humans and sent them back to the zoo. She was a collector or species on earth and if she was never shattered the next planet that she would conquer that had native inhabitants would suffer the same fate that the humans on earth suffered in the exact same fashion.

I believe that padparacha could be used by pink in a trial. if by chance padparacha could see farther in the past without being at the scene for example touch the gem and see what they had done by combining looking into the past and focusing on where that gem was during the time of the crime she could possibly rule out a case by looking into the past at what really happened... this made more since in my head. MY THEORY : It makes since that only a diamond can shatter a diamond. And nobody saw that pink diamond was going to be shattered because it yellow diamond that shattered her. Yellow diamond probably wanted to talk to her in private and that's why there was no pearl or sapphire . Yellow diamond shattered pink diamond because she was kind and liked life like rose. Yellow diamond blamed rose because she was all ready a rebel. Rose would never shatter anyone anyways. Lainey Crossley it's never been confirmed that only Diamonds can shatter Diamonds is SU. And realistically speaking, that doesn't make sense anyway. Look at Bismuth's "Breaking Point" weapon. Doesn't matter who could've used it, that tool would obliterate a diamond.
I'm wondering if Crazy Lace (Agate), whom Bismuth mentioned, also witnessed Pink Diamond being shattered. Crazy lace agates seem to come in a great many colors, but they're often pink and red.
I feel like Padparadscha's power isn't "seeing what just happened" but rather that *Padparadscha can only see the past*. So the reason why Padparadscha can only foretell things that 'Just happened' with such an offbeat awkward delay; is because the moment she makes a prediction is when *the event ceases to be the present, and becomes the past*. Shes been using her powers wrong, or people have asked the wrong things of her all this time. This is because Padparadscha is always trying to use her powers to predict future events, like a regular sapphire. But i'm certain if you asked her about things that happened in the past; she would be able to tell you as long as she was around or aware of what was happening at the time. Any conversation she had, anything she saw, anything she overheard... Anything. Because she can see into the past; if a diamond tampered with her memory, it would probably not override Padparadscha's 'Past vision' but only her personal memories of having been there. This would make Padparadscha a VERY key character to the show, and would make a lot of sense to the narrative. Because as of this moment- Lars is taking Padparadscha to earth. Which would mean *Lars purpose and arc as a space pirate is really just to deliver padparadscha to earth to meet her polar opposite- our sapphire.* Because Sapphire is the only one who understands fully how a sapphires powers work- she is going to know straight away that Padparadscha can see the past. And the plot will probably escalate from there. And *bonus*: Don't you think it's odd in the first place that a RARE aristocratic gem was underground in the first place? Even if shes offcolour, shes still powerful, and still a sapphire. There is probably a reason.
That's kinda what i think. She has past vision and they treat it wrong and as the wrong questions of her. Also With the current revelation about PD she probably allowed off-colors to live because she herself Is an off-color and basically sees them as herself.
+Blue★ I agree with you! But what I meant by them allowing her to live despite being off-color, is why the OTHER diamonds allowed her to live or escape after Pink diamond was shattered. Shappires are held in a higher social position than most gems, even Padparadscha is dressed fancier than the other off color gems shes with. Why that's relevant; is because Sapphires are normally heavily guarded. Because they are rare(which likely means they are not easy to make) they normally are escorted by multiple guards to keep them safe. So the question becomes; how did Padparadscha get away from them? Especially since the diamonds are still trying to kill them and other off-colors now. (Plus, she looks in extremely great condition, and is socially unafraid and unworried. As if she was well cared for in her past.) It wouldnt have been very simple for her to escape the other diamonds after Pink Diamond shattered. And even then, why was she cast out of gem society in the first place? I doubt it was because she was simply Off-color(even the diamonds kept Pink who was off-color). I feel like it may have been that somebody or even white diamond knew she had this ability and attempted to dispose of her, and someone knew this and helped her escape.

I totally understand this theory about PD loving all gems, off color or not. Because holly blue said something along the lines of "even you off color betas" when addressing skinny jasper and others. Wouldn't a padparadcha saphire and a regular saphire fused together make some sort of perfect saphire? The fusion could understand everything about what just happened, look into the future and maybe even look even further in the past.
Yes. But there's one thing you forgot.... Padparacha can tell things that aren't obvious. When garnet meets the off colours, she can tell everyone is uncomfortable to have compliments. So perhaps Padparacha was made to tell the outcomes after meetings, what blue, yellow, white feelings after meetings about trying to save the earth. On the other hand... She doesn't know about the connection of pink to rose so it's hard to say what happened. I think she'd tell what happened. As for her optimism, I think she's like pearl. She felt safe with her diamond and learnt to be happy in their situations
Maybe future use for Padparadscha could be in the form of her seeing things that already happened, but happened somewhere else? Like if Steven talks to Lars' parents, she would be able to tell him what they said or something of the sort. Or maybe even listen in on Diamond conversations to help the Crystal Gems!
Even if the theory is wrong, I still feel adamant that Padparascha's power has a lot of unseen potential and she's using her powers wrong. She keeps trying to use her power to see into the future, when her true power is being able to see into the past. Padparascha's past vision is able to deliver insight of how actions can be perceived from other points of view. An example is how Garnet felt she was being uplifting when complimenting the Off Color's on Lars' ship until Padparascha pointed out Garnet was actually making them feel uncomfortable, something Garnet would have never picked up on her own.

I still don’t frickin understand all the hubbub about Spinel. She was literally unable to think for herself beyond being clingy until pink diamond died. I understand where your coming from with pink making the right decision as a ruler , but leaving them and leading them to think your coming back is a worst feeling then them just telling you they dont want to be friends anymore. It just isn't right , and Rebecca sugar even confirmed that Rose Quartz/Pink wasnt very good. She was very irresponsible , and she did a lot more bad then good to a lot of gems. lxmom aid I’ve also been neglected, so I relate to how it feels as well- but at least with Spinel there was a reason behind it- and Pink May have very well intended to come back after she had proven herself with her first planet. Pink imo did a lot more good than bad, and I feel like people gloss over it. It just feels like people are only reacting emotionally and then not actually thinking about it further as time goes on and moving past it.

I understand why you can question why people hype spinel so much , I dont really either - Im not really that into her. Though usually it's because people like looking for characters they relate to , and even if they cant , they feel bad for her ya know? I have a theory that Padparadscha can't see or hear. The fact that she is completely unable to react to speech or gestures suggests that she has to rely solely on her past vision. I think she is still able to feel, however, since she grabs onto Lars when he picks her up. I believe she relys on her past vision becausr she is aware that she is unable to see or hear in real time

Padparadscha might have been affected in another way if she saw the shattering. Due to not seeing it, it screwed with her powers, much like Steven’s healing powers not working for a while after Greg lied to him and said that his power didn’t work. Now her powers don’t work as they are supposed to anymore.

I think her ability is so misunderstood that everyone bullies her into thinking she has delayed future vision when I believe that isn't her ability at all...
I lay my facts out about her like this if you follow what she says she adds things to what you saw for example when Garnet was addressing the off colors she adds the context of the awkward part she didn't have too but she did. Then tells every one Lars is pushing the wrong button.
with these as examples maybe her job was to add context or narration to the current time. likely she was a lie detector or someone who is used to fully understand what is going on in the now and not the future he utility is seen by Lars slightly when he was told by her about the "wrong button".
I know these are two examples of what I'm talking about and there are so many more but to me these are the shining ones to align my theory because now look back she says steven is a HUMAN this confirms that he isn't a gem but just has one. After Lars goes pink she says AMAZING as if to say what brought him back wasn't a bad thing. When she talks about the warning alarm she add danger and adds gender pronouns to connie. its seems like I'm reaching out for this but I think I could be onto something.

Ok side note. anyone remember Steven's birthday episode and how it was explaining how Steven hasn't changed since he was like 9 years old and then back in season one so many birthday's his age starts to fluctuate because of his mental state. Well recently hasn't Steven been acting pretty mature and at least acting really grown up compared to past seasons. like hes taking charge he has over come a lot of big milestones for himself. And then looking back the the crystal gems and how they looked before rose was gone. Even if she was nice, the diamond court would never allow it. Yellow would never allow for defective gems to continue their lives, ESPECIALLY during the rebellion.
Maybe Pink would keep her as a sort of pet in the same way humans were seen, but she would have her own Sapphire as well. Zircon says "Sapphires" not "Sapphire".

But thinking back to the bismuth episode she remembered making that sword to only Peirce the body and never the gem. The sword Rose uses is incapable of shattering a gem only poofing them. therefore it couldn't have been rose quartz that shattered pink diamond with a sword considering that hers can't shatter.

I've always theorised that pink diamond was the most naive and compromising leader out of the diamonds, who wanted to please everyone. Acting like the kid sibling who doesn't know better, always asks too many questions and doing what they see right without knowing. Probably making her the most open minded of the diamonds, accepting the off-colours as long as they are willing to stay loyal to her. Seeing promising things within the off-colours and how they could help.
Maybe she was using Padparadscha to inform her what was happening with the crystal gems and what they were planning. To get ahead of them on almost everything.
Maybe she was building the human zoo as a compromise for Rose. An understanding of why earth was so amazing but still needing to 'change' it as it was what her old diamonds expected her to do. The zoo is just her way of saying "Look, we need this planet for my colon but we have built this place where some of most important parts of earth." To maybe bring a more peaceful route to end the fighting. Maybe she wanted to add more creatures before she was shattered. The other diamonds probably don't like it, Yellow wasn't interested in it in that will be all while Blue just saw it as something Pink was proud of. They just see her as someone who needs to learn how things are done.
With all of the love pink diamond is getting, painting her this way and a possible peace-keeper does make her shattering more tragic no matter did the deed, from both sides. Someone who tried to stop the war without anymore violence. Someone who is very similar to Steven.

Maybe Padparadscha's vision was actually normal but after seeing Pink Diamond getting shattered she was scared for life and her powers were affected? I mean witnessing your leader/God being murdered it could be really distressing. Plus maybe when Pink was shattered there might be a blast or light shock mutated the gems around
MY THEORY : It makes since that only a diamond can shatter a diamond. And nobody saw that pink diamond was going to be shattered because it yellow diamond that shattered her. Yellow diamond probably wanted to talk to her in private and that's why there was no pearl or sapphire . Yellow diamond shattered pink diamond because she was kind and liked life like rose. I feel like Padparadscha's power isn't "seeing what just happened" but rather that *Padparadscha can only see the past*.
So the reason why Padparadscha can only foretell things that 'Just happened' with such an offbeat awkward delay; is because the moment she makes a prediction is when *the event ceases to be the present, and becomes the past*.
Shes been using her powers wrong, or people have asked the wrong things of her all this time. This is because Padparadscha is always trying to use her powers to predict future events, like a regular sapphire. But i'm certain if you asked her about things that happened in the past; she would be able to tell you as long as she was around or aware of what was happening at the time. Any conversation she had, anything she saw, anything she overheard... Anything.
Because she can see into the past; if a diamond tampered with her memory, it would probably not override Padparadscha's 'Past vision' but only her personal memories of having been there.
This would make Padparadscha a VERY key character to the show, and would make a lot of sense to the narrative. Because as of this moment- Lars is taking Padparadscha to earth. Which would mean *Lars purpose and arc as a space pirate is really just to deliver padparadscha to earth to meet her polar opposite- our sapphire.*
Because Sapphire is the only one who understands fully how a sapphires powers work- she is going to know straight away that Padparadscha can see the past. And the plot will probably escalate from there.
And *bonus*: Don't you think it's odd in the first place that a RARE aristocratic gem was underground in the first place? Even if shes offcolour, shes still powerful, and still a sapphire. There is probably a reason.
That's kinda what i think. She has past vision and they treat it wrong and as the wrong questions of her.
Also With the current revelation about PD she probably allowed off-colors to live because she herself Is an off-color and basically sees them as herself.

I agree with you! But what I meant by them allowing her to live despite being off-color, is why the OTHER diamonds allowed her to live or escape after Pink diamond was shattered.
Shappires are held in a higher social position than most gems, even Padparadscha is dressed fancier than the other off color gems shes with.
Why that's relevant; is because Sapphires are normally heavily guarded.
Because they are rare(which likely means they are not easy to make) they normally are escorted by multiple guards to keep them safe. So the question becomes; how did Padparadscha get away from them? Especially since the diamonds are still trying to kill them and other off-colors now.
(Plus, she looks in extremely great condition, and is socially unafraid and unworried. As if she was well cared for in her past.)
It wouldnt have been very simple for her to escape the other diamonds after Pink Diamond shattered. And even then, why was she cast out of gem society in the first place? I doubt it was because she was simply Off-color(even the diamonds kept Pink who was off-color).
I feel like it may have been that somebody or even white diamond knew she had this ability and attempted to dispose of her, and someone knew this and helped her escape.

Padparacha can tell things that aren't obvious. When garnet meets the off colours, she can tell everyone is uncomfortable to have compliments.
So perhaps Padparacha was made to tell the outcomes after meetings, what blue, yellow, white feelings after meetings about trying to save the earth.
On the other hand... She doesn't know about the connection of pink to rose so it's hard to say what happened. I think she'd tell what happened.
As for her optimism, I think she's like pearl. She felt safe with her diamond and learnt to be happy in their situations

Even if the theory is wrong, I still feel adamant that Padparascha's power has a lot of unseen potential and she's using her powers wrong.
She keeps trying to use her power to see into the future, when her true power is being able to see into the past.
Padparascha's past vision is able to deliver insight of how actions can be perceived from other points of view. An example is how Garnet felt she was being uplifting when complimenting the Off Color's on Lars' ship until Padparascha pointed out Garnet was actually making them feel uncomfortable, something Garnet would have never picked up on her own.
