    This popped up right after I watched the trailer for How to Die Alone on Hulu. It is about a woman in despair and she realized she needed to pick herself up and break out of that place. This clearly might be a sign from the universe to tell me to shift my frame of mind from despair to prospering

    I am having a good day again today, a little better than yesterday which was a little better than the day before. And after watching your video I want to tell you how beautiful you are. Handsome and helpful, and I love the sound of your voice. I love my gay self and I love other gay men, and you strike me as delightful. Thank you.

    As gay men we have to be super strong on every level !!!
    If i get sad or have life b slap me ,
    I never let that sad emotion take over me for more then 5 minutes .
    Then i kick the sadness to the curb !!!

    Thank you for standing by us who do choose to look at it this way. To many it appears part of the issue is lingering in dispair. The reality is...that only creates more on top of what's already the problem. So why flood yourself? Accept the issue; find solutions; and choose not to put even more on your plate. The reality is that we have "problems" every single day. Sending hugs!

    Thank you for this valuable insight. I'm a gay guy who's going to be 40 soon and I've been single for more than 10 years already. I'm completely monogamous and it seems that it's very challenging since a lot of gay guys are just into hookups and open relationships, and time is ticking. So, it makes me easily fall into hopelessness and anxiety.

    • @IMJwhoRU
      @IMJwhoRU หลายเดือนก่อน

      Indeed. Almost 59 here, monogamous, single 30+ years. I have completely run out of reasons to have any hope. No anxiety anymore, trying to accept that I’ll die alone, and don’t want to wait too long for that to happen.

    You know it’s funny to me. Because the same thing that happened to families, I believe happened to the gay community. Remember that old movie that they recently redid called the boys in the band? This group of young gay men created a survival tribe. And even though it was toxic because of their internalized homophobia. They still stuck together. But in our modern day culture. So much emphasis was put on what you had. Or what you looked like. And of course, becoming a slave to over consumption and self indulgent behavior. And now we all have this false comfort of social media to give us the illusion that we actually are socializing or interacting with people. That we basically painted ourselves into a corner. Humans forget. The entire reason that our species is not only thrived but dominated this planet. Really wasn’t because we were the strongest. But because we cared for each other. No matter what we form tribes that had purpose and had our back. But now there are no tries. And when you feel like you’re completely alone in a capitalistic dynamic. You just won Repair away from being homeless. Unlike if you had the backing of a family or a tribe. A tribe meaning an empowered friendship group. I also think that gay men in particular I put way too much focus on the sexual part of homosexuality. And I’m not shaming that but… When you overvalue anything it will turn on you. And with older gay men it’s age that suddenly values us. That is if you get caught up in that bullshit. Lol it’s important as we age to gain wisdom. Because there’s nothing more tragic than an old fool.you must set your value, and find your tribe. And focus on the solutions and not the problems. We are not above any other animal on this planet. So instead of self-pity, you have to find the strength for adaptation.

    Your basic premise is the same thing I've been saying for a while. Although I viewed it as happiness. See it rains on both the good and the bad so it isn't just a you thing. I also looked at people and looked at the "happy" people and the "sad/angry/etc" people. I asked my self which one would I rather be IF i at all have a choice. I choose the "happy" ones. SO That meant that I had to look closer at those that were happy and start mimicking some of the things that they do. The things I learned were lessons for ME, and helped me walk through life. In general I would say be appreciative of what you have because you never know when it will be gone. Don't hold onto stress/anger/hate they don't serve you and in the long run only cause you harm. Forgive yourself, once you are truly able to forgive yourself can you start to understand how to forgive others.
    Peace

    I really try to keep the demons at bay, but external forces do play a significant part in our overall emotional state. I'm not talking about date/no date; there seem to be a bombardment of external stuff that either weigh me down or occupy my precious time. I call it precious because I'm 74, so time is the elephant in the room.
