My Ranger did that to tires without ever having touch the front suspension in any way. I found out it was from the stock alignment Ford puts on these trucks. From the factory they have a lot of negative camber which causes tires to do that. Even Ford dealership couldn't understand it when they saw the tires and checked the alignment and it was spot-on.

However I think it also has something to do with the stock tires they put on in the factory. Because the second set of tires that I just finally changed on the truck after having wore them out did not do that.

Sorry about that! Glad to know I'm not the only one.

I have leveled all my trucks in the past. I align every 6 months and rotate my tires, I get a lot of mileage out of tires and no suspension issues.

I made same mistake on my F150. I simply forgot to do alignment and after a year of driving my outer edge of tread was worn bad. Live and learn lol

Yup! Lesson learned! I love my new tires though!

Dang bro! I watched some of your videos when I first got my Ranger I thought you knew better.

Well, live and learn I guess. I though twice before making this video, but I'd rather swallow my pride and let others learn from my mistakes.

Just a mistake! I was told anytime you change something like this you need to get them realigned. Think of like the a arms and the angle of the tires now being higher.

Anytime you mess with suspension front or rear you need to do an alignment.
The fact that a “regular” shop wouldn’t do an alignment seems sketchy, but the fact that a “offroad” shop DID the alignment is even worse, because they did an alignment with those worn tires on there. So now when you buy new tires your gonna want to do another alignment again!!

Thanks, but I did buy new tires before doing the alignment.

It's not the leveling kit because mine did the same thing and it's stock

Oh wow, interesting! Well, so far after an alignment and new tires, the new ones are wearing normally.

Did you not rotate your tires for 31k? 😂

    • @MicahMartinDIY
      @MicahMartinDIY  ปีที่แล้ว

No, I rotated them. I just didn't get the alignment done.

      Rotating tires is dumb

Wth lmfao looking at your alignment printout the two bottom adjustments that say toe are very simple adjustments. You simply adjust the tierods clockwise or counter clock wise get back into specs. Camber is typically adjust at the UCA bolt (if adjustable?). You don't need a special offroad shop do this, honestly you got played. Keep in mind toe is you're most aggressive adjustment, imagine dragging you feet while pigeon toed? Unfortunately something like this happens.

Thanks Stephen! Good information to know. I first brought it to a discount tire place called "Just Tires" and they say that they could only adjust 2 of the 3 things that had to be adjusted and said I that had to go to an off-road shop since I modified the suspension.

@@MicahMartinDIY I just had mine done today which I installed the fox 2.0 coilovers and my truck needed the same adjustment (toe). Took it to firestone and they knocked it out. That shop didn't know what they were doing unfortunately. My printout for the alignment looked exactly like yours. Anyway it's definitely and learning experience and you have to learn somewhere.

  • @TheBeatenPaths

You'll be lucky if you don't have to constantly do allignments. Once you change what the engineers designed, watch out.

It's been doing fine with the new tires once I got that alignment done. Fingers crossed!
