    One question, what size socket is it?!
    Some other questions I see answered;
    1: Clockwise (Righty tighty) to raise,
    Counter-clockwise (lefty-loosey) to lower(?)
    2: Yes you have to lift it to do this job

      I forgot what size it was, if I had to guess it would be a 13mm or 1/2." all the other info is correct.

    This was very helpful. Thank you. One more question, if i lift my ST 03, is possible to use spring coils? I am using a gas type shock absorbers and since more areas were exposed, I want to put spring coils to make it look more tough. Is it possible?

      The torsion bars are used in place of coil springs on these trucks. I am sure that there are kits out there to convert the torsion bars to coil springs, but to answer your question no, you cannot use the torsion bars and coils at the same time.

    My driver side on my 01 f150 used to be half an inch higher. I gave the passenger side a crank and a half. No tire unusual wear. Do I really need an alignment?

      @@planetjupiter2551 With that small of an adjustment you are going to be fine, but when you start raising the front a couple inches, the angle of contact of the tires on the ground will change. That is when you need an alignment.

    I have a 2003 FX4LII. I was thinking of going the key route also saw a different key install video and he indicated they really didn't do much. After reading your comments glad to say im off that path, looked like a pain in the balls anyways. Ive got airbags on back for pulling a camper and they jacked up the rear a bit more than the already jacked stock. So i could really use a couple more inches up front and wouldn't mind going to 32" tires after i burn up the BFG's. So about 6 cranks and get an alignment. You talk about having to add the bolts to adjust the camber, wouldn't any alignment shop be doing taht anyways? Another key video said he didn't put in the upper shock spacers and he did not have to get an alignment. if your tires arent wearing why do you need to adjust the camber? Great video, thanks.

      Thanks for the comment, the reason why I added camber bolts is because the stock upper control arm bolts are square and do not allow for any camber adjustment. Installing the new ones that have a cam on them do allow for adjustment.
      I always get an alignment after any suspension change that has the ability to change any part of the alignment (eg. ball joints, tierods, or a lift). This is just my rule of thumb to conserve the tires as much as possible, but it won't make a big difference in the short term. If you feel that it will be ok without an alignment then you don't need to do one. I just did one to be safe.

Some of the key videos and people are saying they get 3" of lift on the front. if turning the torsion bolts only gain you 1.5 to 2" im confused. It would seem based on that the keys do do something. im not doubting what you say just trying to fully understand.

      @@johnnyofast5924 you can get 3" or more just from turning the bolts all the way in. In my video, I only did it to where I wanted it (not all the way).

    Wouldn’t you want the front left and right to be closer to equal?

      We're talking about a half an inch, but yes you would want them equal...my thought process was when I am in the car it will equal out since it should theoretically sag more on the drivers side.

      How would you know that they are level, since the ground isn't ever level. Maybe measure them while jacked up off the ground after test driving it.
      Also does tightening the bolt lift it and loosening the bolt lower it?
      ...Righty rise, lefty lower(?)

      I could hardly tell a difference. Now if you go cranking the keys all the way then that is when your ride will be less than ideal. I believe I did 6 turns and it feels great! I'm glad you found this helpful.

      Get extended shocks then you can crank them all the way and have hardly a difference. If you crank them with stock shocks the ride is going to be absolutely terrible

    About how much lift do you get? Do you think this would eliminate any rub issues with 31s?

      If you look at 4:10 I give the numbers, and if the tires are rubbing just slightly at full turn then it will probably clear. But if it is not at full turn I would not count on it.

    WHAT About the rear ??? YOU already lifted up the front,,, NOW the rear drag low,,, how u make it ball=ance ????

      The front was only lifted about an inch and a half...the truck came with about a 2" rake in the front, so I am lifting the front to make it around level...the rear is still higher than the front.

    Does this adjustment change your wheel camber and increase tire wear?

      It will definitely change the camber but it will not increase any tire wear

    Would you always need to jack up befote adjusting torsion? What if I dont have a stand, just a jack?

      Yes, you will need to raise the front before adjusting the torsion bars. You could use the jack from the emergency kit as an extra, and then use your other one on the other side.

      Yes, it needs to be in the air to ensure even load dispersion along the torsion bar

    Hey I have a question. I have a 07 ford ranger 4x4 and I noticed that one of the torsion keys was in pretty far and the other one way far out. Do you think this was done on purpose?

      I believe that they come from the factory at the same length, so if your truck is sitting level, and does not slope to one side, then I would say yes. This difference could also indicate that there was some issues that a previous owner had with the suspension. I would check all the suspension components on that side of the truck (especially the shocks) to see if anything looks out of place. If everything looks correct, it could mean that the torsion bar on that side is worn out and should be replaced eventually.

      Which side does it slope to? Does it go to side of the more turned key or is the side that is turned higher than the less turned one?

      @@TheMileHighMechanic It is higher on the drivers side. The bolt on the drivers side is pushed in farther than the bolt on the passenger side.

      Ok that makes sense. Un-turning that bolt a couple of turns will make it level on each side. The same thing can be achieved by screwing in the other one (as long as you want to raise the front to the height of the other side). Pretty odd that someone would just crank one side though.

    To raise it up do you tighten and to lower it you loosen?

      Yes, the more you tighten the bolt, the more of an index you put on the torsion key. This increased index raises the front of the truck.

      I was trying to maintain the factory stance, and to do that I marked the factory positions.

      The front end needs to be off the ground to ensure that the torsion bar spreads the load among the entire torsion bar not just one area. Hope this helps.

      @@payneszn Do not go that route!!!! It is a complete rip-off. All the keys do is change the angle at which the torsion bar is held. You will STILL have to crank the torsion bars to get any lift. So basically the keys do nothing unless you are cranking the bars to the max and if you do that your ride quality will be terrible. I have done plenty of research on this and I can tell you confidently that new keys do NOTHING. You can achieve the exact same results for free with a torsion bar crank.

The bolts that are on there right now do not allow for adjustment so you will need to install these to have a shop align them properly.       @@Nikkk6969 Correct, cranking the t-bars will add a bit of posative camber, and on these trucks, you cannot ajust the camber with the stock bolts. Installing adjustable camber bolts will let you take the positive camber out and make the tires wear evenly.

      They were never even to begin with, and I don't want to crank one side more than the other in fear of creating an imbalance in the suspension.

      @@TheMileHighMechanic I didnt think of thar, I guess if it was tracking straight and not pulling before then that makes sense...good to know because I am going to be doing this to my 2003 f150 xl reg cab longbed 4x4 after I do the rear add a leaf...now I wont fk it up and cause issues....thank you
