I was just watching Rodney on Johnny Carson and I thought he was making a joke when he said he was in a movie called the Projectionist. This is awesome. I love TH-cam!
I often wondered what his first pic was...without using "wiki". NOW is know. Quite a contrast to the characters he played in the newer movies. Love his type of comedy, one of the greats!
This is one of my favorite movies of all time....maybe I'm biased, as I apprenticed as a Projectionist when I was 18 and had a great career doing the best job I ever had! The theatre managers were still crazy like this in my day lol!
The old man is Jára Kohout and his story was real. He was a comedian in Czechoslovakia a he was so popular. He owned two theatres....sad story. The communism destroyed everything in our country. Comedians, aristocracy, economy and democracy. Horible...

Reminds of the scene from Dirty Work. Anyone else. .??
immediately thought of that. norm loves rodney too, he must've seen this
ajzetro1975 Immediately thought of Don Rickles, Artie Lange, and Norm MacDonald when seeing this!
I wouldn't be surprised if those guys saw this movie!
Someone stole a script 😂🤔
Old familiar faces, Rodney you will always be king.. RIP my good man, perhaps I may get the chance to meet you in the next segment.

Gee, how about that!
Wow, someone stole some materials 🤔
@@PEPPERJET7 huh?
At 1:36, I was expecting Rodney to do his no respect routine and fiddle with the bow tie.
dandruff means dismissal...................classic!
5:39 - "Tomorrow you'll put more salt in the popcorn. You'll sell more soda."
Oldest movie theater concession trick in the book still used today.
with the one and only Chuck McCann as the Projectionist. He and Rodney loved working together.
Almost reminds me of Telly Savalis the way he’s acting in this scene
He really does!
I half expected Rodney to tell a joke here.
I'm going my breakfast on the men's room floor. hahahaa
LOL, Oh really?!
Before he got into real estate.

Wasn't this partially shot in Rosendale in the theater?
Seems like a movie you'd see on MST3k
It's ridiculous when I hear people say, "If you are not Jewish, you will get nowhere in the entertainment business." Where is the evidence?
Early film with Rodney, bombed at the box office.
Such a shame, yes.
@Fidel Caddy Shack and Back to School did not bomb.
@@gordonowens7794 he's referring to this film. But I agree caddyshack and back to school did not bomb. They're great.
@@sassy65ify his first movie and rodney is serious in this role intimidating character its weird
Easy Money opened #1 in the box office and made $29 million in 1983.
turn heat up and ac off they we sold more drinks HA HA just kidding
That's one way to sell more soda and putting more salt on the popcorn as well.
@Joe L Don't forget the tachistiscope!
His character… Didn't give no respect! :-)
If this movie had been for a British audience they would have rolled in the aisles. 'Muricans generally don't pick up on droll humour.

This was actually good, commies, clean fingernails, the old country, funny faces, disrespect...
