Tsitsipas's backhand went from one of his biggest weaknesses to now one of his strongest weapons at least on clay.
on clay he has time to hit it as he wants instead of being rushed when he is much more prone to errors. but if he plays someone like Alcaraz on clay or Djokovic in form (10 wins in a row on him) they seem to be able to take his game apart.
@@huzcer True. But he also had great results on hard court in the past (e. g. ATP finals champion!). It also has something to do with mind set. A player must have confidence in his strokes. He must like to hit them and not be afraid of it. It seems Stefanos has also worked a lot on this lately.
Because he now knows how to use the shbh effectively...
In that FO final he was the better player then Djokovic in the first two sets, although the first set was very close he had had a slight edge. So he's got the game, this surface seems to get back his confidence especially his BH. @huzcer
It's just more consistent. That's all!
So nice to see a friendly exchange at the net between Thompson and Ruud
9:23 what a shot by Lajovic 🤯
Koji navija za partizan
Banana shot on the backhand side - very rare.
Tsitsipas flourishes on the clay. His backhand is suddenly more effective and less vulnerable.
My theory is that Tsitsipas performs so well on clay because he's not hampered by high balls to his backhand since he's so damn tall. He gets a little extra time to prepare, and that makes all the difference.
Balls tend to bounce up higher on clay than they do on other surfaces - the reason his bh is better on clay is because he has more time and isnt rushed like he would be on faster courts (most hard and all grass courts)
I mean he has a slam final and an atp finals title on hc so it’s not like he is a bum on that surface either
@@ChristosTzoannistrue
@@ChristosTzoannisthe slam final was on clay. As for the ATP title, he won that with his serve and forehand, plus a few critical errors on Thiem’s part down the stretch. Just because he won that on hard court, doesn’t mean his backhand isn’t a weakness. It absolutely is on hard and grass. He’s just made up for it with a massive forehand over his career.
@@garrusv The Australian Open is played on hard.
Great match from Tsitsipas! Routing for him to go all the way and win his first ATP 500 tournament! If he continues to go for it, not hold back and be fearless, there is no reason why he could not win this title!
I guess you missed his last tournament he just won at Monte Carlo last week 😂
@@alexdrake8079 the poster knows that and is referring to the fact that Tsitsipas has won multiple Masters 1000 but has never won a 500.
There’s very little to stop him. The only seeds left are Ruud, Norrie, and Etcheverry.
@@alexdrake8079…
Y a d’autres gros adversaires qu’il doit battre, je suis sûr que Ruud peut gagner et prendre sa revanche cette fois!
9:24 the Lajovic curler was nasty!!
Manifesting a Tsitsiruud rematch🙏
Tsitsipas gearing up for another clay title.
He was playing better in Monte-Carlo,stiil enough to win,but must rise it as the tournament goes on.
for sure! especially if the referee doesn't see his double faults
@@fxsignal1830 in the same set there was an earlier error in Sinner's favour. Sinner couldn't last in the end.
@@huzcer it wasn't a refereeing error on brak point
@@fxsignal1830 Sinner still had the break lead but fell apart
9:24 Whhhaaattttt one of the best hits i ever seen woow
I have great admiration for the Greek, not just his incredible tennis but also his godlike qualities, best wishes youngman
🤔
🤣🤣🤣🤣 The god of🤡🤡
@@Viktorprj19 if you don't like him then why you're here?
@@bre7342 you missed something dude... In this video there are 8 different players ..on top of that I still watch tennis also if I don't like a player at all.. at least to support his opponents!🤣
@@Viktorprj19 It's ok if you don't like him but there's no need to mock someone just because he have great admiration for Tsitsipas.
Whoooaa, what happened to Alex? Two double faults on two break points, and tons of unforced errors. One of my fave players who I can't wait to see more of, but that kind of inconsistency is what separates the Top 5 from the rest.
He thought he had won the tournament after thrashing Nadal yesterday. 😂
Il a été épuisé hier tant physiquement que moralement peut être aussi.
Ça va passer
He wasn't playing an old guy who can't move well today.
I think this is less of Alex playing poorly and more that Rafa was even less impressive yesterday than we thought. Fils just overpowered him.
Fils' football hooligans cheering got under his skin. I get it, it's very annoying seeing this behavior on a tennis match
Stef looks super good this year, well done Stef!! LET'S GOOOOO!!!
This greek fire is burning everything and everyone in his way with no intention to stop anytime soon.
Well done Stef. One by one and you shall be there. All the best😊😊😊
Tistipas is nowdays on different level
As long as theres no Alcaraz or Djokovic ,Tsitsipas perform well
@@vukasindjurickovic4905 Djokovic was there. He lost to Ruud who then lost to Tsitsipas 1-6 4-6.
Bravo Casper... t'es un gars super..
Stef had a beast of a backhand on clay. He needs to hit through more than so much topspin on other surfaces and he will get there for sure. He already can hit a little flatter if he wants. 17 sets out of the last 16 is tough😤
В последнее время, переживаю и болею за Каспера Рууда, удачи тебе парень и побед. Стефан тоже хорош, как Феникс, возраждается и ему желаю удачных матчей.
Baena played super well and had his moments, very good test passed from Stef , onto the next!
Tsitsi looks strong, also good fights from Fils and Norrie looks also solid on clay....
That banana back slice of lajovic keeps me thinking how he'd hit that?!
Norrie backhand is such a beauty!! for sure it is his second best tool , sportsmanship the first of course!
😂😂😂
Probably an effective BH, but beauty? The strange stiff arm movement is not esthetic at all, looks like something from Monty Phyton.
@@jeroenvermunt862 it was sarcastic mate!! his BH is awful!
Wonder how big that Ruud forehand winner from miles behind the baseline was, would’ve loved to know the speed of it
Norries backhand is so unusual and yet he can still get the job done on clay against a seasoned clay dog.
Impressive
what a shot from Lajovic! 🧐😲😲😲
Man, if you gave style points, Stef would win every tournament -- what a graceful athlete.
Wrong. Do you even have eyes?
He's especially very fluid on clay, the way he slides into the shots is like choreography.
@@drdickenbalz I'm sorry to disappoint you but yes, Tsitsipas is a graceful athlete.
@@drdickenbalzBalz? You mean "head", don't you. Take your trolling back to kindergarten. In the real world, people have opinions.......and believe it or not, they don't have to be the same as yours!!! Yes, I know. Extraordinary thought, right? And do you know something else.......your opinion isn't fact. Reallly. It isn't. You don't get to proclaim "wrong" to someone else's opinion.
09:24 tha ball from Lajovic...
Waiting for the video to get to 1080p quality...
A. Fils is playing well. Hoping he is able to fulfill all the expectations put in him. He still a teenager and has time on his side
Time to raise the level up to win his first Atp 500 clay court prince.. Tsitsipas. Fans from india
Μπράβο Στέφανος ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bravo Arthur !!!
Goat era all court versatility gone now, we are again in specialist era
That blast from ruud is from the heavens😂😂
Making the grunting stop, please!!!
Great to see Tssitsi in power mode.....
That backhand is just absolutely stunning to look at! Especially against yet another "Screamer", 1:58 min.........
Tsitsipas's balls are spinny, while De Minaur are flat.
Tsitsipas has been to a French Open final. De Minaur has never been past the 2nd round there in 7 attempts. He's poor on clay and his flat balls can only hurt slow old guys on it.
@huzcer Indeed,Tsitsipas grew up on clay, has many weapons and knows how to construct the point.
@@huzcer Yesterday he destroyed king Nadal on clay. Nadal's level must be very low.
Fils did a great job today, the fact that he beat a guy who beat Nadal on clay the day before is actually crazy. Even if Nadal was injured, that is a huge achievment.
De Minaur’s win over Nadal really wasn’t that impressive. His forehand is way too flat to be a problem on clay, so I’m not surprised that Fils won. His groundstrokes have more torque than the Demon.
Mate Fils won today's match thanks to a radical group of franch fans that were cheering for him like craaaazy. Demon wasn't able to cope with the pressure thats all.
Yet got owned by a 17 yr old calm down mate 😂
Fils did it for the honour of the King of France (on clay) 😂
You can’t be Forreal?
Fils is such a talent
Let’s go Arthur ❤❤
fils has found some fire within himself that we have never seen before
Go Tsitsi! 👍
Hardcourt season comes Medvedev wakes up
Clay season comes Tsitsipas, Ruud wake up.
Medvedev hibernates now
"Ruud stopped playing". According a certain ref that means an immediate point for Thompson 🤔
Bravo Arthur Fils!! Belle perf !! Faut continuer comme ça...
Arthur Destroyed De Minaur in his Own tastes😂😂😂😂❤
Si.. Si.. Pasa.. 👍😁
7:20 cut mid point? TennisTV needs better editing.
so early only 360p available
They could do better with the camera position in the outside courts.
il est ou mon papa😢😢
Fils : wow !!!
Will this be Ruud's biggest clay season as of yet?
There is a notion, probably because tsitsi does not care so much for 500 atps, that's why he is not performing to his full potential, he was much more aggressive in montecarlo, more precise and more consistent. But, this is my personal observation and subjective opinion do not lush out on it.
Il a surtout un ego surdimensionné 😂
@@user-zi7br9mc8d I do not know what you wrote, equally as I do not care, because I think it's still italian salty comment.
@@aslanidismichail7368
Haha... pourquoi italien ? Non mais, ils sont si méchants les italiens ???😂
Stef's made it to 3 Barcelona finals, almost beat Rafa in one of them - I think he cares about winning this.
Vous avez supprimé mon message à propos de l'allusion que vous faites sur des méchants italiens... pourquoi ?
Ruud has made a huge change on his backhand which is going to pay major dividends...
And Etcheverry, Diaz Acosta matches?
I can't explain why but I am automatically biased against players that use a double surname....😑😑🙄😒
😂
Every Spaniard, then. It's just the way it works in Spain.
@@MikeAG333
So are you saying Nadal, Ferrer, Verdasco, Lopez and Moya are not Spanish....??🤔🤔
@@warriorson7979No, I am saying they all have two surnames. Rafael Nadal Parera, for instance.
@@MikeAG333
I didn't say anything about HAVING 2 surnames....
I said "USE" 2 surnames.
Tennis needs to crack down on the excessive grunting done by some players - gotten so out of hand
There is a law against it already - hindrance - only if done late after you have hit the ball which could be putting off your opponent.
Is Norrie the best pusher of the circuit? Or maybe it is just his backhand (which I find so so horrible esthetically btw)?
Fonseca, who recently defeated Fils, will enter RG. It's going to be interesting with this boy.
had to switch off the volume when Fils started to play..wasn't sure if i was watching a tennis match or a national grographic documentary about the life of cows in swiss!
I feel like Davidovich Chokina matches always follow the same pattern...
bad day to be a Spanish player
Tsitsipas is still great.
The DeMinaur match was better to watch from the lower angle.
Crazy how ADM lost ALMOST the same score as how he won over rafa in his previous match (7-5 6-1)
Could be another Tsitsipas vs Ruud final.
"Okay, let's give ourselves a lot of room to take on his second serve"
"Oh wow, that's a pretty good kick, let's try to send it high and deep back"
"Lets try to go to the middle now"
"Oh wait, he's pushing up to the net. I guess point's over"
_Starts to walk_
_Ball comes straight to forehand_
"Oh alright, I guess he doesn't want to win"
*Ez winner, ez game*
4:17
Fils trying to grunt like rafa 😂
Did Arthur play well or did Alex play below par?
dusquisting crowds during the match of ADM and Fils.
a lot of french in barcelona
Should the other title for stef . !
LET'S GO FILSS
When you screaming so hard but still cannot beat silent tsitsipas I don't know what to say... 😂
Where’s Marozsan?
nice to see Fils beating top players again. Lajovic is coming for him so I hope he will give his absolute best to beat him.
12:17 anyone else think that looked in?
Bsd Alex d mi..
Tsitsipas 7-5 6-3 Carballes Baena
Ruud 6-1 6-4 Thompson
Fils 7-5 6-2 De Minaur
Lajovic 7-6 3-6 6-1 Davidovich Fokina
Norrie 6-4 6-3 Bautista Agut
French spectators know no manners. Terrible
Has Fils always had that weird grunt!? Lol.
Fils is a good player but the grunting is fucking ridiculous
Де Минаур поверил в непобедимую серию после мертвого Рафика и слил 😂
Fils win highlights the point that Rafa is so much short of match practice...
No Fabian’s match?
Fils should loosen his string tension a little. Work smarter, not harder, guy.
Yup relies too much on his power similar to rublev but not as good. Gets one dimensional and can lose his head. Hope he gets better though as he has talent
Wow, [6:20] just close your eyes, you will hear Nadal's grunts 🤯
weirdest backhand award goes to: Norrie.
De Minaur proves once again that being a pusher only gets you so far. This is why De Minaur will never achieve anything greater than a 250 or maybe some more 500 titles if they have weak pools
Fils is back
09:23
Fils defeated De Minaur! I thought De Minaur has been unbeatable recently~
That's Sinner not Demon. Don't mix the two up. 🤣🤣🤣
@@orchidpanda2253 No, I was talking about De Minaur this time. But yes, Sinner is remarkable too.
Fils is a member of the next generation while minaur is part of the new generation. So funny when the new generation has to learn from the next generation while the new generation has much better experience than the next generation
Good press for Fils after Nadal loss 😂
Fed had Dimitrov, Nadal has Ruud
De Minaur levelled down :/
7:20 wtf again
If fils destroyed de minaur, who destroyed Nadal the previous match, then Nadal has no chance at any clay tournament (including rg)
Ruud is rude ?
The same final like Monte Carlo......
Stefanos and Casper are playing very good..... But this time Casper is not going to have a match with Nole at the semi final 😉....
This time is 50-50......
Tsitsipas beat him comfortably last time. If Tsitsipas plays well again he will beat him again.
Tsitsipas won't have to face Sinner, so... maybe it's more like 70/30? 😉
It'll be interesting to see if it happens -- they're both hungry for the title for slightly different reasons -- Casper to break out of just winning 250s and Stef to finally win Barcelona after 3 finals. It's the best chance for both considering they don't have to face Alcaraz, prime Rafa or Djokovic.
