    I've watched the entire match and I still can't believe it. The way Rublev was calm, collected, with almost none of his typical angry outbursts... I think I'm gonna cry for joy. If he was always that composed, he could've achieved so much more.

      his biggest struggle is his mental health, hes struggled with depression before. Its the biggest thing holding him back but if his mental is in the right place, theres very few players that can best him.

    • @HeavyTopspin
      @HeavyTopspin 14 วันที่ผ่านมา +51

      Agreed, it was impressive from several points in the first set that usually would have him smashing rackets and barking at himself. If Andrey's mentality can stay like this, he's going to have a LOT of wins this year. Also really strong on the backhand wing, which I like to see since he tends to get himself in trouble running around his backhand.

    Players are no longer intimidated by Alcaraz, his game is easily navigated. The commentators are in as much shock as Alcaraz. When you put someone on a pedestal & continually hype them up, they fall. Well done to Rublev.

    • @philshyu5248
      @philshyu5248 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      "Easily navigated"? Are you crazy? It still requires almost superhuman athleticism and a certain amount of luck to be able to beat Alcaraz. I would like to see how well you do against Alcaraz if you think you have him "easily navigated". 😂

    • @user-id4cs7hh6y
      @user-id4cs7hh6y 11 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Alcaraz was clearly physically compromised with his forearm and serve. He wasn’t even going for his shots 100 %. He was slicing and using his drop shot more to conserve that forehand. He isn’t a quitter so he tried his best, Rublev had to earn it. Did you not see the guy rubbing his forehand on changeovers and in visible pain. Also, now having to miss Rome. To say he has been figured out is wildly inaccurate. Rublev has beaten all the top 10 in his career at least once, so it isn’t like Alcaraz lost to someone who isn’t quality. Give Alcaraz a break, only 21 and right now dealing with some pretty serious injuries this year, hasn’t really had a chance to build much momentum this year and match fitness.

    • @miacat1727
      @miacat1727 10 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      @@philshyu5248Implying Alcaraz is a Superhuman athlete is insulting to other tennis players, who are equally fit, talented & skilled. Alcaraz chases every shot which looks impressive on the surface, unlike those who reserve their energy, don't burn themselves out & have the confidence to play with precision, mental agility & skill.

      Definitely! Rublev played extremely well. It was obvious however tactically Carlos played right into Rublevs wheelhouse. To beat Rublev you can't keep hitting slices to the middle of the court. On serve you have to hit big kick serves more that can pull Rublev off the court on the ad side. Carlos was too far behind the baseline in many of the rallies and for this to work he needed to keep the ball deep with heavy top spin and grinding out longer points to frustrate Rublev and bring out his inner anger demons! Hopefully Alcaraz can fully heal physically before the French. Rublev on the other hand probably will not make it past the QF in the French. Outside odds for a SF.

    Don’t get me wrong, he’s very talented, but I never see him as the equal of the Big 3.
    People often forget being able to stay healthy is the most important physical talent
    in all sports.
    Roger & Novak were great in that department, Rafa was a weird case since he would often rest half a season but still come back strong. Alcaraz is a great player but he’s definitely not unbeatable on clay like young Rafa, there’s several

    Wow, this was as good as I have ever seen Rublev play.From start of 2nd set onwards he was all razor-sharp and rotor-swift mode.That's what I kept talking about that for him to move past quarters he has to develop his technical game more so than mental when many fans just pointed out to his mental exhaustion being the roadblock in his bid to reach semis and finals.For me it was always his one-dimensional gun barrel rallies that found him wanting cometh the quarters of mainly all slams he used to play.For me the road beyond quarters meant more variety,more backhand down the line volleys,more side spins and drop shots,more acute awareness and boy did he turn that ignition switch on big time today.He looked a complete package in this game with his variations and I am sure if he clings onto such a venomous state he is one ruthless beast to have in any tournament.Rublev showed the steely sterner stuff today and hence the deserved eventual winner.Keep it up,ya look a champ like that bruv😉👍

    I watched most of the match. I was surprised to see how calm and cool Rublev was throughout the match. He held his nerves and kept his composure unbelievably throughout the match. And that was the key. Especially after he lost the first set, he composed himself to wrestle the next two sets in dominant manner. He was up 4-1 40 love at one stage in the second set but lost all those 3 break points and I was expecting his typical outburst during one of those moments but kudos to him for not letting that happen. If he can maintain his mental composure like that, he's going to climb more heights in tennis.

He pushes his body so much so that it's started affecting him. Not that I hate or anything just wish best of luck to him. He skipped one recent tournament didn't he. Last year cramps and out. Already suffering in Madrid this year. Something is not looking ok. Meanwhile sinner going nicely. Medvedev too looking good on clay.

    What a level from Rublev! I know what he is capable of, but in that match he did really showcase it. Something was wrong with Alcaraz's forehand though. On these highlights he barely hitted some topspin forehands. It's kinda weird... Maybe his last injury is still hurting a bit or it's still in his head. I wish him healthy Rome and RG

    In a match like this, the best part is when the visiting player began to dominate, and the parochial, hysterical, wild, demented and fanatical home crowd suddenly get silent and depressed... I enjoy that feeling in every country, especially in Australia, where I live, and in any South American country... Crazy nationalism is OK in collective sports,as football, for example, when a team is representing a country... But singles tennis is an individual sport where nationality should be irrelevant...

      Media reflect casual tennis fan desires.
      And casual tennis fan wanna see new Federer and Nadal.
      That creates pressure.
      Since it is hard to fill their shoes, media give little push.
