I had a similar issue with a culvert, but first dug down and reset a segment that was separating. Concreted around the old gap as there was some chipped concrete. Then backfilled and graded. The repair has lasted many years. That was before I had a backhoe and it was a lot of digging. I now have a 755B and look forward to a few new culvert jobs this summer. Thank you for the video.

Yeah I didn’t think the backhoe would make such quick work of this repair. It does that to me a lot!

      @@Man-Time I can't imagine life without a backhoe now!
And *everyone jump and shout!* I found 1,000#+ of nose weights and the bracket from a gentleman a few hours away so now... MAYBE... I won't be so dang tippy going uphill!
Yes - 4wd is the bomb. My little TC30 & 455c backhoe both have it and no way I'd do without 4wd.
Thanks for another 'guy next door' video!

Before trying to get into the pile to load the bucket, try reaching over the pile, curl out, reverse the tractor, and then drag the top of the pile towards you. This will allow you to flow dirt into the bucket with less resistance. Helps with a 2wd rig. Wish I had that old girl.

Hey thanks! That is a super helpful tip. I got pretty lucky finding the old triple nickel!

Hey! Your boom has almost as much slack as mine does! I've read about those 'repair pins' (NordLock etc) that take up the slack - supposed to last like 10k hours... have you thought about pin replacement?

    • @Man-Time

It’s the pins and the flat bar plates that attach to the pins. I’m going to get a new set of tires before I replace that stuff. I can make a new set of pins on my lathe for the cost of the material but the plates that link to the upper part of the bucket are causing most of that play

@@Man-Time I envy you the lathe!
When you replace / repair... be sure to post it so I won't end up with my thumb stuck up my nether regions trying to fix mine! (455c - so just an earlier version of the 555).
