    This was the plant that really got me into plants, after doing some resarch i took a chance and ordered it in December. To my surprise this is the plant that likes my place the most, she puts out leaves every 3 weeks or so, had a bloom and even had 5 babies pushing (one didn't seem to make it but the others are doing good)
    Mine is a bit rootbound and i have to repot it soon and i am debating if i keep the babies in or not. I didn't think about it but you have a good point, if space is an issue it might be good to keep them all together. But i might take 2 away and pot them together as backup....just in case something happends to the mother plant.
    I have mine in a east facing window now, i had it 1/2 meters away and it was stretching a lot. Since moving it, i get bigger leaves with shorter stems so i think it likes a lot of light. No pests yet so i'm keeping my fingers crossed .
    She is quite thirsty, i water mine every 3 days with distilled water and she seems to have no issues with household humidity. (i actually bought a humidifier for this plant but it left white dust and i can't use it constantly, 4/5 l of distilled water per day is just to much). From all my plants she has the most guttation, i thought that waiting another day with watering would help but it did not...she just droopes her leaves a lot and scares me that she is dying :D

    Magnificent specimen! I somehow accumulated a variety of corms over the winter that I didn’t label. Now I’m playing a fun game of “Guess the alocasia!” Learn from my mistakes, people.

      Same here 😂 thankfully I just had 2 different alocasia, so it's not gonna be that hard to find out. But I'm still waiting for some leafs... 🤷🏼‍♀️😅

    Beautiful! I'm so jealous, mine has been stumps with the promise of growth for months and months now. I don't have any problems with my other alocasia, but the micholitziana has been a challenge. Great video, and thanks for sharing your thoughts and experience!

    Really interesting video. I’m a huge fan of alocasias and I have quite a few different ones, also the micholitziana and the variegated form.
    The first one I got is the cucullata and I’m actually thinking about trying to propagate via stem cuttings, because its stem has a decent size.

      That is awesome, I think one of the other commenters mentioned about their experience too on this form of propagation ☺️💚🌿

    Hey Mimo 😀 I was wondering about the planting medium on this one? I have a baby an it’s putting out two babies an it really needs repotted. Yours is defiantly goals!! It’s so beautiful 💚😍

      Ahhh no worries I have always grown it in my usual aroid mix. I am still trying to figure out pon transition for alocasia from soil. Most of mine don't like it. Moving alocasia from water to pon, no problem, but if its already growing in soil medium then it struggles😬 ohhhhh hopefully yours gets nice and huge 😁🤞

    Currently bringing a plant back from the rhizome only, I submerged it 3/4 down in stratum (used like leca) it currently has 6 growth point pushing through the medium as well as a new leaf unfurled (nothing from the top of the rhizome yet)

      @Houseplantygoodness  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awww yeah that is amazing, also really cool you have 6 growth points 👍🙌🙌🙌🙌

    This isn't a complaint, but just food for thought, as you are always asking people for corrections if you have something wrong. You keep mispronouncing this plant's name by saying, "Mitz-cho-litziana". But the correct pronunciation is, "MiCHO-litziana", not Mitz-cho. Just for your benefit, not an offensive attack.
    I'm a bit of a alocasia freak. I have several of these Micholitziana's (Frydek), and also Dragon's Tooth alocasia, which are every bit as beautiful as this one. I also have Dragon's breath, Bambino, Stingray, Poly, Silver Dragon, Dragon Scale, Sarian, Purple sword and the crazy Zebrina Reticulata. Alocasia's are what got me into house plants. But now they are like fifth on my list for plants I love the most. In order it's Anthuriums, Philodendrons, Monsteras, Syngoniums and Alocasias. Those are the top five genera. Great vid as always.

    You can definitely propagate those stems by cutting.
