Some of my ancestors (the Welsh ones, of course!) were from the Rhonda Valley... If the Rhonda Valley looked like that, I'm surprised any of them ever left! 😉
I never saw another episode of this, I didn't have a TV. But I saw this one at the house of my new girlfriend and we both loved it, she was a good girl and still a friend. But that last scene with the comb...... I finally got round to tracking it down and it's just as funny. Up there with Basil Fawlty thrashing the car.
I know it makes the story, but I wish the team would get wise and stop playing into Marsh's tricks. £2 was a great deal of money in 1955 for Marsh to steal.
This shows National Service was a Terrible thing & shows the services do nothing but take your brain away & so much of your life away scare you into blind obedience
Remind me Ray...was Citizen Smith & Jakey Smith the same character but after his 2 years of National Service..? I wouldn't remember as I was 9 when Get some in came to an end.
I was 4 years old when this classic piece of comedy hit our TV screens & 9 when it came to its sad end...it's as they say... all good things come to an end & I strongly believe that National Service should be re-introduced in Britain....it'd definitely make men out of the youth of today
Poofhouse was such a clutz around woman.. A total wimp… Hezwas perfectly cast for this role.. He even had the right smug yet oik like facial expressions.. A real dweeb… Totally cramped Jakeys style. TBH they we’re all great characters performed extremely well by the actors… Marsh got the best lines though… Really enjoying this entire series..
I loved this show when it first came on but I am not enthused by the Religious Blasphemies, and I am a former British & Australian Army veteran, and nothing much shocks me. The show should be funny enough without constantly having a crack at religion.
Angela Thorne was so beautiful in a very English way.
i am in love
I first watched this when I would have been 13 and I fancied her too. Adrienne Posta and Shirley Cheriton also looked very tasty.
Great episode this one, very funny.
Brilliant scenes of Janson and Thorne, tears of laughter at the comb bit, it's no accident I keep coming back to this series
Angela Thorne, legendary actress. great episode! lovely voice and eloquence as well!
She died this last week.
Angela Thorne 25/01/1939 - 16/06/2023. In five days time it will be a years anniversary of her passing....R.I.P

That walk at 16-10 is more like from the Hofmeister bear adverts - "Follow the bear" indeed!
A pre-Angels and EastEnders Shirley Cheriton here.
Brilliant!

My dad got eight pounds a week for fifty hours work on the farm, round about then.
for how horrible Marsh is he does have some of the best lines in the show
We should bring back national service lol🤣
Michael Caine said that once.

You must be a visionary 2024 Tory idea. 🤣
Wolfie Smith, Tooting popular front!!

@@johnroy2567 No they weren't the same character.
@johnroy2567 no, Citizen Smith was set in the present, thirty years later.

Won't work, the Guardroom would be full!

I had a serious crush on Shirley Cheriton :)
I had a serious crush on Adrienne Posta. I had forgotten she was in this.
Fiona Fullerton for me.
Freedom for Tooting
So this is what Marjorie did before
She's dusting the books right over the suitcase, so that the dust will go back in with the books. Surely you would think of that?
It is fiction.

what are we for, but to make sport of our neighbours and be laughed at in our turn?
And Yet you served in the armed services,?
Strange?
@@lordeden2732More than strange. .
@@robertsmith3672 Bloody strange
How far even back when this show was made, let alone now how low standards have fallen and getting worse.
