Incredible performance. Great player fights thru injury. Keeps his team in a game in a championship series. Given the stage and stakes, doesn't get any better than this.
Huge Detroit Pistons fan, his game early in his career, is one of the greatest individual performances in NBA history, second only to Isaiah Thomas game 6 in 88, that was the greatest individual performances in SPORTS HISTORY
Kids today don’t understand this was basically against the Showtime Lakers IN THEIR PRIME Why this performance doesn’t get talked about as much is beyond me
Dude went crazy that 3rd quarter as Lakers fan watch him destroy my team.We barely won game 103-102 in game 6 of 1988 NBA Finals. But we would repeat game 7 winning chip 108-105 because of great game by James Worthy he was incredible.Isiah earned my respect this game
Really puts into perspective how soft the players are today. Not trying to be a "old head" even though I am. But you don't see individual toughness from players like Isiah put on display here. Not talking bout era's or hard fouls. I'm talking about grit and wanting to win at all cost.
Nobody gives IT the respect he deserves and it is because of MJ's hate towards him. Also, MJ beat a hobbled Isiah Thomas in 1991. He missed a large number of games and had surgery on his wrist the summer 1990. He was nowhere near 100% that season.
MJ didn't like Zeek.... But He always admits that Zeek is no.2 point guard of all time. If you think about it, it's the media that did Zeek wrong. I always got love for Week, even tho I'm a Jordan fan .👌 The Bad Boys Should have 3 Peated, they should have won in 1988🤔
@@goatness2326 I know MJ gave him props for his talent. I'd say the media did the whole Pistons team wrong. IT has said MJ and Phil Jackson did have a press conference and call the Pistons bad for basketball and undeserving champions. This is true, it happened before game 4 ECF. Then he is supposed to congratulate them for winning? Most Jordan fans have ran with that and will not think outside Michael's statements, yours is a rare outside the box view. I respect Jordan's game, he is the GOAT, LeBron got nothing on him but in this case they both need to come together and say they were both wrong and let it go. I think even the 1988 Lakers know the Pistons should have won.
I remember some documentary where he's choking up talking about this performance, and as he's trying to explain it he's saying something like "you wouldn't understand". And it wasn't said in a snide way, either. That always stayed with me.
@Kareem ALI ok, so get this.. There was a show called " beyond the glory" and the Isiah Thomas episode has vanished off the face of the earth!! It was one of the best documentaries on zeek! Ever see it?

I love Magic but I also prefer Zeke
So smooth, also a magician , clutch shooter, tough, amazing handles.

Best pg of all time
HEART! KILLER TOUGHNESS!!
Why doesn't this amazing performance has more comments than this Zeke was the man and the whole world should know!!
Because people don't know real basketball and Zeke is highly underrated.

This is the best finals performance I have ever seen I was 14 watching this game with my father
Was a 16 year old laker fan , and I remember being moved by his courage and play. So much heart
This was a really great series ..all the hype for Jordan and Bird....the greatness of the Lakers and Pistons gets overlooked...Thomas played legendary

Isiah Thomas may have been the GOAT.
Phantom foul on Laimbeer...we should have 3 in row...still pisses me off till this day.
I’m not even a Pistons fan and I agree
Me too
😂 Yes it was a BS call terrible
I'm a bulls fan and they would have 3peated 1st they got screwed
I firmly believe Isaiah Thomas is the greatest PG of all time. There's a lot of dislike from people because he was a warrior for his team.

Thomas lighting up the best defender in basketball on one leg for 25 in a quarter

Back then winning was everything. Today we give participation trophies.
It’s a manifestation of our culture’s devolution into weakness.
