You are a better man! You need to surround yourself with positive people, positive thoughts and positive things! Find someone in church or your community that inspires you. Stop watching the negative news, start working out, make a promise to yourself and keep it and get up early with a sense of purpose. Sometimes we need a little kick start, that's what I'm here for....You got this brother! MAN UP! God bless you and your family.

No one is perfect. We can all do better, but realizing you need to to better is half the battle. God has already won the rest of that battle. Follow him. Make prayer a constant throughout your day, not just something you do before a meal. Pray every time you feel temptation or negativity. Give everything to God and admit to him that his plans are better than yours. We are limited. Our strength is in Him. I am also on a journey of betterment and realizing that the more I surrender to God, the better and more fulfilling my life becomes. You will be in my prayers.

Keep in mind that many, many people have good lives without any religion. You don't have to be rich & gorgeous to do it either--you need excellent mental health, but not extraordinary good fortune.
To Each His Own, Live And Let Live is the mantra and is more civilized in the colloquial sense than "Our God can beat up your god and you'll burn in hell if you don't agree" because it can be interpreted as either spiritual/supernatural or secular-humanist depending on what mood you're in, and it depends on the human mind's capacity for ethical & philosophical thinking and value-judgement instead of living in fear of "divine" punishment. It covers all bases.

Let’s not forget to get in shape too. I’m not trying to hear about manliness from dudes that can barely move their own body weight. Those guys in the Old Testament were fierce warriors. Churches will try to tell you David was a meek shepard boy. He killed a bear and a lion before Goliath. He was a savage, and his physical nature had as much to do with it as the principles pastor is speaking of here. Of course faith in the Lord trumps all of these…but we should be prepared for God to use us.

Plus they are so busy competing with each other, gossiping and arguing, that often times their leadership doesn’t even work. God gave us a blueprint of male leadership for a reason. The verse is Proverbs 27:17, but the example used as a metaphor is true - iron implements (hammer, anvil) can be used to shape soft heated iron into useful shapes, including a tool with a sharp edge, and then quenched in water to harden the new tool. The edge can also be further sharpened with stone.
The metaphor goes deeper too, as the hammer and anvil were also formed by the same process, and their properties are now being used to form a new tool which can be put to a purpose. Similar to how wisdom is transferred generation to generation. So it’s not just an interaction between two people, it’s also a forward recurring process.
Anyway, that’s just my takeaway from the passage. 🙂👍

    • @JCW80
      @JCW80 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@GuldeScott They sure can; it takes a skilled artisan precisely working iron with iron to produce something of value. Anyone can thoughtlessly knock two pieces of iron together and produce nothing (or worse, damage one or more likely both).
That’s why this metaphor is so interesting. We can think of human interaction the same way - we can encourage, teach, strengthen, love each other (requires careful, thoughtful, wise long term interaction) or we can carelessly approach our relationships and damage others and ourselves in the process (which unfortunately is far too easy and requires no skill at all).

So, if you think that your particular God is the cause of the universe, you must first independently prove the existence of your God. Read through the Scriptures for yourself humbly. If you humbly speak the truth with your whole heart you will find it, however God also promises that The prideful will have their stubbornness solidified. God is merciful, but he is also just. Sometimes when someone rejects God, God will hand them over to their delusions, so they no longer are a treat or trouble. God gives everyone a chance. Scripture says man is without excuse. Read all of scripture humbly. Start with Isaiah 53, followed by the book of Romans, and the book of John. God is love, he loves us so much that he won’t always give us what we want, he will provide what we need.

Great teaching! Some insight into how important the role of fathers is to God:
    Malachi 4:5-6:
Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: and he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.

Your message is strong and true. Please don’t tie yourself to certain politicians. They can all fail. God is the leader we look to who is infallible. He appoints leaders to rule us and we need to hold them up in prayer. Scripture is clear on this and doesn’t exclude the leaders you didn’t vote for.

@@Cleophis1975it's pretty clear that the democrats today are communists (same thing as socialists).
Regardless of anything, voting for a pro-abortion politician is a sin. Literally every leftist politician is pro-abortion.
You cannot say you are following Jesus if you vote for leftist politicians.

Some of us have mental health issues and conditions such as autism etc, we are already dammed by society as being worthless men, we don't need pastors telling us we are worthless in the eyes of God. For some men things such as a successful career and marriage are totally beyond reach owing to these conditions and the predudice we face. So we are labelled as incels, benefit scroungers, losers etc, even though we have the desire to follow Christ and be accepted into a church to develop our faith as best we can. This kind of talk is disheartening and devisive I feel. Jesus paid particular attention to outsiders. No one who genuinely seeks the Lord should be labelled as worthless because to some of us even going into a situation where there are a lot of people is challenging and is a small victory in itself. God bless you.

Agreed. I can agree with most of this stuff, but not making fun of some who wears cloth over their mouth to keep themselves from spreading sickness to someone with a weakened immunity. And not being a shill for a form of economy that has created an absolutely abhorrent wealth divide. I’m not a socialist, but capitalism can be improved and we don’t need to worship billionaires…only worship Jesus. Not Trump, not Biden, not Musk or Bezos, just Jesus.

Don’t ever say you want to or wish you were a “better” man. Instead try saying and thinking I want to become a more evolved person/man or that you’re going to re-create/re-invent yourself or create a plan to adjust/alter your perspective on life and what’s important to you then you can be that other person you would consider to be “better”. Don’t be so hard or critical on yourself especially your “old” self for what you didn’t know or weren’t willing to accept etc
