  • Hello and Welcome to my Channel. On today's adventure join us as we forage a second time for King Bolete Mushrooms in the Cascade Mountains of WA. Mushrooms came early this year and the King Boletes started showing signs of life at the higher elevations.
    After a great trip to this place in the Cascade Mountains in our previous video we decided to return and recheck the area and try and make it to the highest area of the mountains we could to see how things were looking as far as a second flush of King Boletes.
    As it turned out, our choice of the area and timing of our return, paid off tremendously, not only by finding some new places but also the most amazing flush and quantity of King Boletes I have ever found at one time. It was the most epic and amazing King Bolete mushroom-hunting day we have ever experienced. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.
    Thank you for taking the time to watch. I hope you enjoyed the video.
    Until next time my mushroom-loving friends. 👊🍄

      Yes , seems so. But hey, it's only getting started TBH, this year is not over yet by any stretch of the imagination. Still lot's of places to go and find them all the way into the late fall at lower elevations. Thank you for watching and sharing. Good luck out there, I wish you the best and full mushroom baskets. 👊🍄

    Wow, now if only i could find a fraction of a patch like that. I'm probably too injured at the moment to do a long hike in like that and likely wouldn't take my littles into anything that steep. I was thinking of heading down South but hear the kings are done there and yet you are finding freshies here in the Cascades closer to home. I have yet to find my first.

      Hey there, I'm not sure where you are located. Just remember we are only just getting into fall and the mushroom season is only going to get better as we go later into the season. The Boletes will also be flushing out at the lower elevations eventually and end up coming out on the Coast as well. I hear the N. Cascades are popping, so maybe Mt Baker area. Anyone of the number of passes would give you access to higher elevations and also trails. Not sure on the physical limitations for you, but again you have to get out and look. Happy to suggest areas depending on where you are, but again, you will have to go and see for yourself. I heard similar things about them being over and done, but I am seeing repeated flushes in similar areas but also, a gradual lower elevation seem to have them. LMK happy to help however I can. Thanks for sharing and watching. I appreciate you Brother👊🍄

      @@ImFungiHunter I'm near Everett. I didn't want to ask specifics here but would certainly appreciate some pointers. I think I have an idea where you were hence subtle hints of long elevation gains and a long hike. I understand wanting to keep areas quiet due to the influx of foragers in the past few years and seeing destruction of a trail and area I knew of and visited earlier this month.

      Hey Brother, great to hear your local and I also appreciate your positive words. Happy to share anything that helps you find some mushrooms. Let's stay in touch and find a way to communicate directly. I'm on X if you'd like to reach out and go from there. Thanks for watching, I do appreciate you👊🍄

      @@ImFungiHunter looks like my reply vanished. Thanks brother. I went higher elevation in the cascades today and found a couple of big bad kings I think. Still lots of Russulas. Try g male, take off numbers on name here. I guess next would be lower but very steep there.

    Would you please share the location? Would taking kids (ages 2-7) to go for these mushrooms safe? Please 🙏

    • @ImFungiHunter
      @ImFungiHunter  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thank you for asking. I share a lot of information in my videos, but I will not share the exact location. Regarding kids that age, I would say no as it was a pretty long trek, with extreme elevation gains and a pretty rugged backcountry.
      But, if you take notes of things that you see and what I say and try and match those things up to areas similar you should be able to find mushrooms as well. Where are you located? Maybe I can point you in the right direction and help you try and find some. LMK Thanks for watching👊🍄

      @ImFungiHunter I am in Tacoma. We frequent mt. Rainier (found a spot at the top but not allowed to pick there as it's on one of the protected trails.)

    • @ImFungiHunter
      @ImFungiHunter  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@daryabarbos1480 Try looking south of Packwood in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. There are many areas to look with roads that go to higher elevations. Out of Tacoma, You have lots of places to go from there. Also heading out 410 to the mountains is another great place to search. You are pretty close to that area. There are quite a few trails off of that road. If you can head over Chinook pass and find some areas with the higher elevations. 3500'-4500' would be a good elevation to look in. Good Luck 👊🍄
