    How do I wash this without falling apart

    • @TaraMonsterMakes
      @TaraMonsterMakes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      The great thing about cotton is that when you tie the double knots it stretches and then when it gets wet it makes the ties stronger. As long as you tie good knots, it will never come apart. You can wash the tee as you normally would, and also put in the dryer 😃

      I found that putting a drop of superglue inside the DOUBLE knot makes absolute sure that you can wash it on whatever setting you want without it coming loose. I’ve used this method on shirts I’ve had for at least 7 years now and have been washed many many many times and the knots are still as solid as day 1 :)

      @@chelsealugosioprrator6022 What a great idea! I haven't had issues yet with my knots coming undone, but if I do, this is a great fix :)

      I think that the nomenclature "batwing" is exactly the opposite of this style. Batwing is when there is extra fabric that either hangs low, or is connected to the side of the shirt, looking wing like. What you did was no sew tailoring. Cool, just not batwing.

    After you weave the first time, down the sleeve, how do you tie off that loop at the bottom, using the left over cut strings? I can't figure it out. Oh ok. lol I watched another of your videos, from your webpage, and you said, cut the loop in half, and tie it together. :) Thank you :)

    Do you have any ways to loosen the underarm of the sleeve? Like when the body of the shirt is too short in the armpit area. I’m thinking of cutting out a bigger hole in the body and then using these techniques to stretch the sleeves’ circumference maybe‚ then sewing it back on to the body.

    Thank you for your fun video. I transformed a few of my old t-shirts and they look fantastic! Can you share a link that shows how you cut the seams on the sleeves and make square knots? I'm new at this :P

    • @laurakaticich1617

      nm I figured it out hahahahaha Ty :)

    • @TaraMonsterMakes
      @TaraMonsterMakes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @Laura Katicich Oh yes, you just cut the bottom strip of your ladder in half, and tie it to the strip above with a square knot 🙌

    When doing the fringe sleeve, are you cutting the outer sleeve in half
    to make the ties into fringe or are you tying the cuts going across to make fringe?

    • @TaraMonsterMakes
      @TaraMonsterMakes  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      For the fringe, you want to cut slits horizontally across the outside of your sleeve, about halfway in. Then stretch them, and cut 1 vertical cut down the middle of all yout horizontal strands. Then, put the shirt on, and tie each one of your horizontal strands together from where the vertical cut was made. That brings in the sleeve & makes the fringe. Let me know if this helps 😃

    Question. Can I follow the same method on sweatshirt material? If so, any tips/tricks~or is it as easy as it looks? I am not creative, haha.

    • @TaraMonsterMakes
      @TaraMonsterMakes  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can do these on sweatshirts too. The only thing to know is that the sweatshirt material won't stretch as well, so weaving it will be difficult. However, the cut outs and square knots will work just fine.

    • @TaraMonsterMakes
      @TaraMonsterMakes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can actually just size up 1 size. I'd do a 2XL or 3XL Mens tee.
