I enjoyed listening to this video. Thanks. I keep thinking that these deep harps need to be accompanying something else, whether a hang drum, another harp, a zither or a singer, or any combination of the above. I'm beginning to wish there were several of me so I could develop the idea further.
You might just have to meet some people who play these instruments and arrange a jam session and see how it turns out. Check these people out. th-cam.com/video/QfXJ8V1-Mq8/w-d-xo.html
Love your channel man, right down to the shirt you've got on. Once More Around the Sun is a great album. Maybe the trigger has been weighted with the wire wrap to drop the frequency of resonance, since the trigger is basically a pendulum.
Thank you and I do like mastodon as well as many other out there bands. You can drop the frequency of a harp by weighting the trigger or raise by removing a bit of the weight by grinding or filing off.
I've been studying Hungarian for a few years now, and as soon as I saw "Szilagyi", I thought, "That's just gotta be Hungarian" lol :D Basically, the "-i" ending turns a noun into an adjective. They use this ending with place names to describe where something was made. For example, if it was from Budapest, then it'd "Budapesti Baykal" :D So there's your Hungarian lesson for the day lol
Actually, Szilagyi is just a name. It may have originated from a place, but here it's just the creator's name. As a Hungarian, I can say it's a pretty popular name, actually.
Shoot me a message on my store on FB. It is, “The Harpery.” I have harps to help you out. Ones I reccomend for first harps, wave, Lighthouse, chancellor, p potkin for a more affordable harp.
I start by producing the lowest overtones that will sound. I do by keeping my tongue as low as possible and gradually raising it hitting the open and closed tones getting higher and higher seeing how far up and down I can get it to sound.
You're playing the outer end in a way which is perhaps the obvious initial method with a long instrument. Have you played the inner end of a harp that is twice as long as your mouth is wide? Have you tried rocking it in and out as you play (try this whilst holding a sustained note and see the sound change without needing to change the voicing), or tried moving the position across, so that you manipulate which the part of the action plays within the mouth and how much of the action plays "outside" the mouth. You can also generate "accidental" stopping or muting. Of course this might hurt if you play too hard and get it wrong with a heavy rough or sharp edged instrument. But then what is right or wrong? I like to think in more in terms of what might work and what might be interesting rather than just limit myself to what is seen by someone else as correct. This can be an advantage of learning by trial and error as an autodidact. :-)
I have a couple places that I order from. mouthmusic.com www.oberton.pro guimbardes.fr www.danmoi.com Are some of the places that I have ordered from in the past.
Where can I find a good quality deep Bass harp I want one. the deepest F . like you show here ? I want to get one of those long harps Can you please send me a web address?
Here are a few of the websites I use from time to time. www.danmoi.com guimbardes.fr www.oberton.pro mouthmusic.com I checked and guimbardes does have a baykal, but no f. +arie sams Not as low as the titan with the ball in, but a bit louder and more breathy as szilagyi's are. I do love the tartar bass, but quite a different feel to it. I do enjoy it.
Good day for an unboxing, that's for DAMN sure!

+EarRape Glad you enjoyed it.
Where did you buy it? I got one from Walmart. Lamest, ever. Sounds off key. What is the best to buy for a newbie, here? Ehere? How much?

When you say, "break in a reed", what do you mean, and how do you know when the reed is broken in?
Curious about that too to be honest
Szilágyi is my favorite😊
I use a Balck Fire D.
Maybe I buy a Baikal F too
They click to much and gets worse
I love Szilagyi's harps
Hey! Lovely channel and videos, as always. Was wondering... how do you play a range exaclty? Is it just vowels?

@@bebbcorpharpery7331 Thank you for your response! You are always so helpful! ^^
Bro do playing on big stiff harps hurts teeth a little bit or that vibration is actually good for them?

Hey bebbcorp harpy I have a harp that has a bend at the end and it hurts if I was to bend that in would that ruin it???
I would need more information. Make a video showing the harp and what part is hurting you. Post a link in the comments and I will take a look.
@@bebbcorpharpery7331 th-cam.com/video/eBmz9riGKu8/w-d-xo.html this is the link I gave you a shout out
good
Can you recommend a cheaper harp with a similar sound?
Deide0006 Can’t really think of one.
Could you make a video on how t care for your jew harp? How to clean it and such (dry cloth vs washing vs oiling etc)
th-cam.com/video/wtaz1DI2gxc/w-d-xo.html
I really wasn't aware of this, thanks !
Randiir No problem. These are the methods I use.
the metal is so beat up and dinged for over $100... you think youd get something polished and damage free at that price.
Clicked to much
