I bought a Rocket R 58 with PID in 2014… today is the first issue just stripped the group head.. what a messed cleaned lubed… all fine again Love the machine hope to have loads years more use 👌🏻
As an espresso enthusiasts I really feel your pain. This was my first pick when shopping for a higher end machine as well but after chatting with the shop owner, he mentioned that the breakdown rate for cinquantotto is 3 out of 10 units sold by him statistically. That makes me chose the pro 700 instead. I hope you are able to solve your problem and you have every right to get them fix it! Good luck
@@enyceofnyc : the new one. I actually bought one since my last post and did not like it at all. Bad design choices and watertank problems. Exchanged it for a Marzocco Linea Mini within two weeks.
@@enyceofnyc : The Marzocco is amazing and is very easy to work with. Designwise it's close to perfect (like the commercial version). It is expensive though and some people dislike the way it looks. I love it anyway.
Apparently the timer problem is a bug in the 1.3 version control board. The dealer should swap it for version 1.5 under waranty. It is a known problem. I hope you allready got everything sorted.
Mine arrived in a similar condition - leaking left gauge, tear in the water reservoir tubing and the front chassis had bent in transit so the front feet didn’t sit flush on the counter - fortunately my dealer was excellent and swapped it out immediately with a new machine - good luck with this 👍👍
Too many problems at once for being right out of the box. I also know of many other buyers with issues in other models right out of the box. I did comment about my disappointment on Rocket 🚀for having so many issues in the brand new products as if they had a quality control issue. But Rocket owners on Facebook groups jumped all over me for saying that. I guess they took it personally. The owner inspired me to buy a Rocket because of his pride in making his products look good. But I feel he needs to take more pride on their quality control going out the door.
Never have owned a rocket---however, I wonder if your noise you are experiencing is similar to the La Marzocco GS3--when you get it new, you are supposed to loosten that allen key aboce the group head to bleed out all air. Im wondering if the sound you are hearing is air trapped in there combined with incoiming water pressure and causing that sound through the passageways...just something to try. Water spots should come off with a rag and polishing compound. Also, is your 3 way valve in the back center of the drip tray "ALWAYS" leaking or is it just during the first 20ish minutes of heat up--this would be normal before the boiler seals off. If it is leaking much past that, that could be a problem--but also, if it is just a tiny occasional drip after initial heat up, that may be normal as well--on the GS3, there is a little stainless cup that catches condensation/steam coming from boiler valve and diverts it to drip tray--this way your internals of your machine or your cabinet undersides are not getting steamed up. Just some observations--but sorry if none of these are helpful on your particular machine. Cheers!
Hello everyone, I know some of you wanted to know what was going on with this machine… The supplier got in contact with rocket and sent me 4 new legs and a new gauge. I sent the machine to a local shop and they changed the parts. For the screeching sound, I rarely hear it anymore, Maybe because they greased the lever and the inside of the e61 group. Some mentioned the screeching sound was because of the blind filter… it’s not every shoot was like that. The last issues was the shot timer. The montreal shop said they couldn’t do much but unplug/plug all the electronics and hope it doesn’t happen again…that’s still a problem but happens less often… I will eventually contact my supplier for this issues. Rocket never contacted me but sent the parts through the supplier. Since we are in a global pandemic the parts got here quick enough! Overall it’s a good machine some things I like others to criticize but the overall purpose of this video was to show the issues this machine had to my supplier and Rocket. Enough writing, I’m going to make myself a coffee now! 😉
@Stweby I bught same machine as you few months back and i had/have exact same issues as you. The white spots on the feet and then 2 days back it started having the same noise when brewing or backflushing. This is really annoying for such an expensive machine. I had a Giotto before and i haven't encounter any issues, that's why i went again with Rocket. Maybe it was better for me to keep thet Giotto. Anyway, have you solved the noice issue? If yes, how it was solved? Any advices? I received also feet replacements from Rocket.
That noise makes me think that the pre infusion spring and brew valve springs got mixed up in assembly. Looks for a e61 rebuild from whole latte love and he makes the noise and discusses. That noise is what tells you the springs are mixed according to the lead tech
You should speak with your dealer first. All these issues are annoying but easily fixable. These foots could be getting polished (asked the dealer before) or even replaced by the dealer. The sound comes from the lower spring of the E61 group and is is normal with nearly every E61 machine after some time. One can fix this be lubricating the spring. The shot timer from the new R58 has this know bug that it did not stop counting. It is a very new model and it looks like they have to fix some things. Asked your dealer about that.
I have some issue with my Mozzafiato too. Mainly is about build quality. Some cable is visible from above, cover rattles. I concluded that Rocket italian don’t pay attention to those details.
Agreed. My R58 is similar and I've had it two years. Yes, my timer sometimes continues to run. But my group head pressure won't stay stable. It will sometimes stay as low as 9 or jump to maximum on the dial, both when using a blank. My front legs are slightly bent upward so that the drain shelf isn't level when the machine is. Occasionally, the machine will read "tank empty" when it is completely full! I have to power is off with the switch and back on to reset it. Sorry I ever bought mine!
Thanks for the heads up! My machine is always on and I think it puts itself on standby (green light blinking). When the calendar is on, eco mode can’t be on at the same time! I have no issues with the computer!
Screeching/Dolphin Noise: Inside of the E61 group are 3 Springs. 1 short and 2 long. You need to change the position of the 2 long strings. Because they are almost the same, but different.
Have they responded to you? Or did you resolve the issues ? As I have almost the same issues presented in your video. For the timer I had change the mood from eco to calander, and it got fixed now when I start extraction the timer will start and when I stop it will stop and show the reheating simple. Note: you can change the mood back and there will not be any issue. For the leaking ensure to close all values it helps a little in preventing too much leakage
I just received my r58. Several screws are loosen, back panel is not aligned. The pressure gauge is off the position and fall off from the machine. Very disappointed
Have the same issues with the timer. Is there any possibility to fix this? In addition I have the feeling that the whole machine gets to hot, as you can’t really touch it. It’s not only the E61, but the whole machine
Ciao, I’m happy to find your video. I was about to buy this machine. I’m not sure I will now. I think I might buy Bianca now. Has rocket company desolved your issues?
I’ve had a Rocket R58 for 3 years. Machine has been extremely reliable (use it several times a day) and my dealings with Rocket (directly emails from Italy) have always been great.
Hi 👋🏻, i literally just got the same setup last saturday. Your machine seems to have many issues straight out of the box. Does your little sidecomputer work properly? mine apparently is broken....it wont turn on ECO mode nor does the auto on/off calendar thing work. although i had it switched on properly the machine wont turn off and on at the supposed time period - it’s constantly ON. little bit disappointed in that. also be careful with the tray...it has very sharp edges....i already cut myself

Used numerous different products including Cafiza to clean the legs... no results. The only good thing is they told me that they will send me a new gage that I assume I’ll need to change myself!!! It looks it is used one and even not properly repaired. The wierd sound is comming probably due to switched springs inside the valve for presure release. There should be 2 strings , they are switched... anyway i would return it as well . This is very bad credit for Rocket.

Okay few things : knocking sound warming up is normal, it's the boiler heating up. Next: dripping nozzle : normal, this is the overpressure release from the steam boiler. Feet : waterspots, metal polish, or even sigarette ash and a cloth, or silverware polish. Screech sound : stop backflushing with cleaning agent (cafelat) for a while, this is not good for e61 heads because it removes all grease from the moving internals creating wear and noise.Timer : bug in control board v1.3....replace under waranty with v1.5, problem solved. Hope this helps some people.
