We've been to Tokyo Disney twice and I'd like to add a couple of things. As for English speaking cast members, we didn't have any trouble in the parks communicating with any cast members at all. The only trouble I had was at Ikspiari, when at one of the food court restaurants, I had a difficult time communicating that I wanted a tomato on my hamburger. =) For credit cards, I used a no foreign transaction fee card and had no trouble using it. If you're asked if you want to pay in yen or your home currency, you should choose yen, because if you choose your home currency, the merchant calculates a conversion rate to give you a home currency figure, and that rate is usually far below the market rate. If you choose yen and have a no foreign transaction fee credit card, it's cheaper on your end and the extra fees can add up during your trip.

Usually in Japan they don't normally do accommodations for food (such as adding or removing something). It's not commonly done, nor in countries like Korea either.

I am staying at the Toy Story Disney Hotel and was wondering do I buy my tickets, before check in and at the hotel or do I have to book it through the website?. I want to go to Disney on the day I check in, but it doesnt mention a check in time and it doesn't say, because I would like to buy my tickets and use the early park access entrance for the day I arrive.

The reserving the table thing I found also goes for spots for the parades! I got a bench for Dream Up and just left my backpack and drink there to save it and I saw other people use cushions or blankets to save theirs. It was so great for when people queued up hours ahead of time (me included haha)

On things about characters greeting you forgot to give, characters in tokyo disneyland are aimed for all age. So the characters greeting are for all age, so the way they pick people for hug and photograph, they dont pick whoever first because theyre kids or adult, they dont, but the way they pick is whoever they want. And it best to bring along some prop to interact with the characters. And when circle around the characters, the characters will choose everyone who circle around them eventually. Now if the guest have a disability or an elderly, and they have their id card on them, the characters may pick them first for greeting if the characters is kind.
    Thats also my advice.

The Jungle Cruise one kinda surprised me. It's easily a top 5 for me from Disneyland California, so it's a MUST see on my list for when I make it to Tokyo Disney (hopefully later this year!)
I can't remember if it was mentioned, but I'd love it if you did a video covering phrases most common to be used at Disney parks in Tokyo. I thought to ask this because when you mentioned the hand stamps (which makes me so happy to know, 'cause the US parks stopped doing this ages ago and my inner child loves getting my hand stamped) that there's cast members that ask if you're returning, but if you don't know Japanese you might not know what they're saying and miss this. So yeah, park-specific phrases would be great to know :D

When I visited, as someone who speaks almost no Japanese and only English, it really was all fine. When you’re at the front of a line and are being distributed, I held up the number in my party with my fingers and they pointed exactly where to stand. Restaraunts we’re always fine, you can point or they often had an English name that would work if you speak clearly. Only time we needed a translator app was when a monorail dispenser didnt dispense enough passed but we’d already paid and it didn’t refund. But with the app it was all fine.

In 2019 we bought our Disney tickets from Klook. It worked just fine...however, at THAT time, we had to go to the Klook "office" which was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay out of the way for us. I'm not sure if it's still that way now, but I think we're going to book directly through Disney for our upcoming visit this autumn.

I’m staying at the Toy Story hotel for the first time on my next trip and waiting to buy tickets there still makes me a bit nervous 😅 Do you recommend waiting for the Welcome Center at Maihama Station to open or going directly to the hotel to buy it from their guest services counter?
I saw on their site the Welcome Center opens at 7:30am and the Toy Story Hotel guest counter opens at 6am, so debating whether or not to just go earlier directly to the hotel

Wondering if you had to choose would you have the ambassador hotel character room (mickey, Donald etc) or Disneyland hotel park view? Also which has nicer Christmas decoration (mid-late November)?
I’m confused about park tickets, I will be staying at a Disney hotel (please answer above) is there still a risk of selling out or are there a set number of allocated tickets for hotel guests reserved? If that makes sense.

Are guests able to have their shopping delivered to our hotels if we are staying at Sheraton? Is there a way to check if any rides will be closed in April 2023?

I’ve never seen them offer package delivery from inside the park to the hotel. They only offer to ship it home from the park, but they charge a fee and it has restrictions. I believe, for a fee, they will deliver your purchase in Bon Voyage to the hotel. Unfortunately, most of what I buy is only sold in the park, not at Bon Voyage. If you want to buy stuff in the morning, maybe you could stuff it all in a coin locker so you don’t have to carry it around all day in the park?

I went to Tokyo Disneyland for the first time for last year! This time, I plan to go to disneysea. I saw mixed comments about how this works so I wanted to ask......
Where and how do you scan your ticket to enter disneysea? I know when you first step out of Maihama station their are two sides, the right leading to disneyland. Do we have to scan tickets at the disneyland entrance to enter disneysea still or from the station do we choose the path on the left side and that will lead to disney sea?

    • @MariE-575
      @MariE-575 ปีที่แล้ว

You scan the ticket at the park that’s printed on your ticket. So you scan your DisneySea ticket at DisneySea. Also, the walk to DL from the station is very quick, but the walk to DS is at least a 15 min walk from the station. You may want to consider hopping on the monorail loop to save yourself the walk. Plus you get to see Mt Fuji on a good day and the Toy Story Hotel while you ride!

You mentioned picky eaters…I’ve read that you can’t customize food when ordering (e.g. plain cheeseburger or sauces on the side for things). Has this been your experience? Asking as the mom of two picky eaters! Lol
