Oeff yeah there's one pet store near me and I went there once but never again. Kept So Many fish in teeny tanks and just left them in there when they died?? Made me feel like they didn't check on those fishies. No substrate or anything in the tanks or on the bottom either, made me really sad

i just got into fishkeeping and i absolutely love it. the reason i got into it is because my mom bought two goldfish and kept them in a 8 gallon. she knew nothing of fish and that's okay, i started looking into it and explained that it's not ok for goldfish. so she went out with me and we bought a 36 gallon, the most we could afford. my goldfish are doing so much better, they are so active now. eventually, i'll have to trade it in for a bigger one though. overall, i love it.

Yesterday I went to my local koi pond, and took 6 fish fry, and put them in a spacious jar. I also took some plants and small crustaceans, and I got a nerite snail in there, too. I plan on releasing them back into the pond when they get bigger. Today all 6 fry are doing well and they're eating, so that's good.

It stays all day, and my hair is that coarse asian hair, too. Love your content. I'm going to use your tips in about a year when we buy a place and have room to do a 5-10 gallon with live plants.

Wait...it's the Black Moors you're worried about?? Not to burst your bubble nest (lol), but Black Moors are some of the smaller breeds of Goldfish. Take it from me! I've been keeping Goldfish, nearly every breed, for nearly 20 years! Nah, but seriously, the Common Plecostomus will reach about 18-24", the Cichlid about 5-6" (if that's the species I'm thinking of), the Shubunkins (single-tailed calicos) about 14-18", the Tancho Ryukin (double-tailed white with red spot on the head) about 6-8", the Orandas (double-tailed orange with puffy heads called wens) about 12-14", and the Black Moors (all black double-tailed) about 6-8" :)

I have a 30 litre tank with 4 dwarf frogs and 2 danios and 2 small platy fish with 1 shrimp which is about 2 inches long and a few little snails ik it’s over populated but the dwarf frogs are just babes which are about 1 inch long would I be fine to keep them in there for another 5 months or something till I get a bigger tank

Fun facts about Goldfish for people wanting to have them: We treat them as starter fish because we grew up winning them in carnivals. We also grew up believeing they were very cheap and easy to take care of. Reality is this. It's recommended a Goldfish has a 20 gallon space and an additional 10 gallons for every other Goldfish added. On top of that they can get really big. I've had one I got from Meijer three years ago and he's about 6-7 inches long. They can still get bigger than that. Also, they can get tank water very dirty which is one of the biggest reasons having them for a long period of time is hard for some people. They need to have their tank attended to on a regular basis. Final fun note is this. Goldfish can live between 10-15 years and the world record was set at 43 years old.

My grandmother got me a beta fish in like 2014 and she got me a half gallon tank with no filter or anything 🙃 Unfortunately it took me like 6 months to realize how wrong it was and finally got a 5 gal with a filter and heater and real plants. I still cringe.

So one time in school we were talking about mass capacity and some other stuff and there were like 50 goldfish in this bowl and we talked about how technically they all fit but theyre not thriving, then another picture of a fishbowl was next to it and 3 goldfish were in it and my teacher said that the goldfish are thriving and they happy and even though it isnt a big deal i just cringed so hard-
I bought a betta without doing my research recently but ever since I've found your channel and done my research. I now know that it's not okay for me to house him a 3 gallon tank so when my next paycheck comes in I'm going out to get him a nice new 5 gallon. I also picked him up a heater that get the water to 25 celcius. I feel really bad and I hope he'll thrive in his new five gallon.

Lmao my betta loves water changes, he could be at the other end of the tank but the second I start adding water he swims right up to where I'm pouring in new water, he also likes guarding the gravel vacume

I have a 30 litre tank with 4 dwarf frogs and 2 danios and 2 small platy fish with 1 shrimp which is about 2 inches long and a few little snails ik it’s over populated but the dwarf frogs are just babes which are about 1 inch long would I be fine to keep them in there for another 5 months or something till I get a bigger tank

Well, Im keeping fish about 12 to 13 years and I'm only 18, and at this point I don't know if I should laugh at those tanks or feel totally shit about those fish... Poor animals

Fun facts about Goldfish for people wanting to have them: We treat them as starter fish because we grew up winning them in carnivals. We also grew up believeing they were very cheap and easy to take care of. Reality is this. It's recommended a Goldfish has a 20 gallon space and an additional 10 gallons for every other Goldfish added. On top of that they can get really big. I've had one I got from Meijer three years ago and he's about 6-7 inches long. They can still get bigger than that. Also, they can get tank water very dirty which is one of the biggest reasons having them for a long period of time is hard for some people. They need to have their tank attended to on a regular basis. Final fun note is this. Goldfish can live between 10-15 years and the world record was set at 43 years old.

I live in hicktown USA. We have a Chinese restaurant with workers who came over from China. I about dropped dead when they had a decoration of two dragons holding up a Swastika. It’s clearly not the same meaning, I was just NOT prepared 😂

My kuhli loaches (8) are ALWAYS out and wiggling about. In the day time it's 2 or 3 in a group but at night they all swarm and wiggle on the side of the tank.

My grandmother got me a beta fish in like 2014 and she got me a half gallon tank with no filter or anything 🙃 Unfortunately it took me like 6 months to realize how wrong it was and finally got a 5 gal with a filter and heater and real plants. I still cringe.
random story. So one time in school we were talking about mass capacity and some other stuff and there were like 50 goldfish in this bowl and we talked about how technically they all fit but theyre not thriving, then another picture of a fishbowl was next to it and 3 goldfish were in it and my teacher said that the goldfish are thriving and they happy and even though it isnt a big deal i just cringed so hard-
I bought a betta without doing my research recently but ever since I've found your channel and done my research. I now know that it's not okay for me to house him a 3 gallon tank so when my next paycheck comes in I'm going out to get him a nice new 5 gallon. I also picked him up a heater that get the water to 25 celcius. I feel really bad and I hope he'll thrive in his new five gallon.

@@thesacredlobo I did! I have my fish in a five gallon now and I'm currently saving up so I can get him so nice plants and good substrate and hardscape. I'm learning as much as I can about planted aquarium in the mean time.

So I was wondering if 2 small bristelnose plecos,6 tetras, and 1 or 2 blue angelfish are to much for a 20 gallon tank. But I don’t know it that’s to many fish or not so I need some assistance

Sadly, I had 3 fancies in a tiny bowl as a kid. I didn't know better and the local fish store didn't even bother telling me or my mom what these fish needed.

my gram had a common pleco that thing was huge @1:17 she had a 73 gallon tank and with some schooling fish (single species) i think she had tiger barbs but yea i hope they are not still in that tank xD

Hello. I’m starting to get into large tanks after upgrading from my 29 gallon to my 55 gallon. I’m kind of split between ideas on my new 55 gallon setup so I figured I would come here for help. Do you think it would be better to have a community tank with small to medium size fish or a community tank that is heavily centered around a rainbow shark or something like that?
I would go with a community tank!
