I would strongly advice thinking of it. And now consider that this may be a power for SRS or ESP and your connected device casues short circuit or something like that. Consider there are three fuses in that box which can be seen on your video, which are live when you switch ignition on:
F2 - SRS (power for side AirBags)
F3 - ESP sensor, power for accelerate pedal position sensor
F4 - Power for electronic circuits (tracing this line leads us to seat heating)
From 3 of above the last one can be safely used.

Would F4 be ok to use for a dab powered aerial?

Hi. Does this stay live for any period of time after you've switched the ignition off? And do you know the current passing through this wire? Thanks...

Hi, thanks for your question, it switches off immediately when the ignition is switched off. I do not know the current passing through it but I have my satnav connected to it which is very low powered and has not been an issue. There are other live wires that will stay on for around 15 minutes, my dashcam is connected to one.

Works perfectly. thanks for the clear and concise info :) would it be worth fusing this on the lead coming from this blue one?

stephen elliott yes mate, but if you're using the supplied dash cam power supply, it will already have a fuse in there

I'm using it as a remote switch for an amp. It should only be drawing a small amount of current and the amp is fused. I may add one just to be on the safe side. Thanks.

OK so...you have another permanent supply to your amp? In that case no fuse required because this is just a sensor, the main draw will be on the permanent live. However, if this is the only live going into the amp then probably best to put a fuse in it, hope that makes sense.

The amp has its own fused supply plus another fuse on the actual amp...

Ok mate it will probably be fine without one
