Hi there! This week is Black Maternal Health Week and it's really got me thinking (even more) about the messages so many of us hear about our fertility, risks, and mortality. So I decided to share my thoughts and some of the things I'm working through as a 35-year-old Black woman in America who plans on trying to conceive later in life.
If you’re like me and in your 30s or you’re like many of my past clients and in your 40s, there’s a good chance you haven’t received much hope or help when it comes to optimizing your chance of conceiving. I’m on a mission to change that.
🧘🏾♀️ Support your fertility and optimize your overall well-being with full-length fertility yoga classes, journaling, and a virtual mini-retreat👇🏾

Thanks for watching! Let me know in the comments below if you've ever felt fearful about your fertility and future pregnancy. What do you do to move through it?
This video is important, I'm glad you shared and posted it! I'm not black, I'm a heavy weight white woman but I enjoy your channel thoroughly. I'm turning 27 in a month and have been trying for a baby for a year now. I just got diagnosed with PCOS last month and it's been rough, but like yourself trying to do all I can in preconception self care, taking the supplements, walking/cycling, losing weight, eating healthier and dairy free, etc. I agree that there are different types of fear surrounding pregnancy and birth that a lot of people don't think about. I honestly haven't found my hail mary when it comes to facing that fear other than just feeling it, crying, snuggling my cat, and joining groups on fb facing similar things to myself-which I think is my most helpful tip. Your videos are very calming and I appreciate every video and effort you put into them.
Thank you for your comment. Yes! It's so important to fully feel what you're feeling. Crying and feeling it are definitely on my list of go-tos too. Wish I could snuggle with a cat, my allergies won't allow it though. Lol. Be well!
“Learning how to trust the unknown.” Yes
🙏🏾
I fear so much of not getting pregnant but at the same time getting pregnant again after my miscarriage last year. Unfortunately, I had a OBGYN who didn’t care about my health. In hindsight I’m glad that I did not give birth under the care of this OB. Just holding onto my faith in Jesus to get me through. Praying for us all in this fertility and pregnancy journey 🙏🏽
I'm so sorry you didn't have the support you deserved from your OBGYN. I wishing you all the best on your journey forward. 🤗
@@LiveFertile thank you so much. And I love your yoga videos!
@@courtneyneal1385 Thank you! I have more in the works!
I love and appreciate your vulnerability 🙏🏽❤️. I feel very similarly, almost 33, with diagnosed tubal issues, AND I’m newly single. So I have no idea how I may conceive in the future, but I today I finally felt overwhelming hope that God will provide a way. Doing research definitely does help! The more we know! Thank you and good luck! I’ll be watching. ❤️
Thank you for sharing your experience as well. Yes for overwhelming hope! Your hope gives me hope. I'm rooting for you!
I just stumbled onto your channel today and am now binge watching your videos. You have such a beautiful vibe. And YES to the book reviews. And also more info about Essential Oils and Fertility.
Welcome! Happy to have you here. Yay! I'm happy you're interested in book reviews. And I'm definitely going to be sharing more on aromatherapy and fertility.
I definitely feel this way. As a woman of color myself I have decided I have to have a doula and a advocate with me when I actually deliver. I want to have a pregnancy team and I want a doctor who actually listens to me. Thanks so much! I love your videos and all of your information. It's very helpful!
Yesssss! I’m a huge proponent of doulas. They are essential. I’ll be interviewing one for the channel very soon. Be well!
Yes, I have fears not only about getting pregnant at 39, but the higher pregnancy risks that come with age, being in a larger body, and hypothyroidism. Plus I have a lumbar spinal fusion and am terrified of another back injury during pregnancy/delivery. I try to just address what factors I can and let go of the rest (easier said than done sometimes). Eating well, exercising, reducing stress, appropriate medical care, etc.
Thank you for sharing. Yes for "address what factors I can and let go of the rest." We can only do what we can do. 🤗
Great video! I’ve just found your channel and am so grateful for your work. 🙏🏽 I’m 32, have PCOS, and am starting my TTC journey. 💗
Thanks, Erini! Best wishes on your journey! 🤗
Thank you so much for sharing this! I would LOVE book reviews and recommendations! Sending so much love!
Yay! Happy you like that idea! I'm excited to do it.
I love the book review idea!
Yesss! I'm excited to do it.
Thanks for this video. I had a miscarriage 5 1/2 years ago and haven’t been able to get pregnant since. Sooo scary to think of getting pregnant now.
I'm so sorry for your loss Abigail. I'm thinking about bringing a psychologist on to talk about the fear so many are feeling around their reproductive health. I'm sending you all the hugs.
Sending you a lot of love ❤️
🥰 Thank you.
I have had two miscarriages last year in a span of 8 months and I have been so scared ever since. Worried if it’s ever going to happen for me. Unsure if I am ready to go though it again. It’s mentally so difficult to overcome the pain of failed pregnancies and there is this constant fear and guilt. I really hope I am able yo overcome it and me and my husband conceive a healthy baby soon 🙏
So sorry for your losses. Your feelings are completely understandable. Sending you hugs and warm wishes.
I've just turned 30 and I've been single for the longest time and I have PCOS. My biggest fear is not knowing if I'll ever have kids because the clock is ticking and no partner.
Secondly fear that I might be diabetic in the future.
Thank you for sharing, this is insightful. And do share.
The idea of the ticking clock has a lot of us fearful. You're not alone. Know that I'm always wishing you the best!
@@LiveFertile Wishing and hoping the best for you also
Bl9cking out other peoples fear. That's what I'm currently doing. We know as women and individuals what calms us, we just need to block the negativity from getting in.
Thank you for sharing! 🤗
Yes to fertility-related book reviews! I'm interested.
Yesss! They’re definitely in the works. It’ll be fun. 📚
Hi there!😊 For me, fear centers around control; as in I want to control the exact timing of having kids. Which, as we know with PCOS and God's timing lol, is not realistic. So I really resonated with you saying that we have to surrender. This is something that I know full well, yet struggle with truly living it out. My faith is absolutely in God and His plan for my life, yet I still want control of timing. I'm working on that and working on not allowing myself to become so consumed with the concept of time that I add unnecessary stress to myself- because of course that's when PCOS symptoms flare up. #workinprogress also, I'd be interested in hearing book reviews and more about herbalism! Oh, and any tips you may have for becoming yoga certified, please and thank you!
Oooo! That wanting to control things part. Yeah, I’m with you there. I’m really excited about sharing the book reviews, herbalism, and aromatherapy soon! Can’t wait to get into our new space so I can unpack my books! And I’m happy to share about becoming a yoga teacher. 🤗
@@LiveFertile Yes for aromatherapy! I use oils ALL the time! And great, I'm really wanting to get certified this year if possible.
@@lilshortie4eva03 Yay! I'm excited for you. I love yoga trainings. I always walk away inspired. You're in for a treat (and so are your future students!)
Wow I was just thinking about this 2 seconds ago I’m 22 but I know I want kids in the future
I really wish I knew that there's so much we can do to make the most of our future fertility at your age. I'm wishing you all the best!
I am neither black, or over 30 nor do I live in the US, which means that my success rate would be way higher (please know that this does not mean that I don't wish people a healthy pregnancy. I wish everyone in the world that they get what they hope for). HOWEVER I have always been worried that I would never be able to get pregnant. I guess this just means that you really want a family one day and has nothing todo with our region on the Earth or ethnic background. :)
Thank you for sharing your thoughts and perspective, Isabelle. Be well 🤗
Just found your amazing videos!! I subscribed to your channel and also I have to say, what a beautiful smile!
Thanks for the great content ♡
Hi there! Thank you. That’s very kind of you. I’m happy you’re here! Welcome. 🤗
