I appreciate your comment about Memorial Day. I lost alot of friends in Afghanistan. I know that they would want to be remembered but also that we live a great life because of their sacrifice. They died so that we can live free & live our best lives for them.
Well said. RIP to your brothers.
🇺🇸
“If I had a choice of dishwashers, my first would be my children, my second would be a Bosch” - throwaway line, but actually the best ad ever
I saw a pickup truck yesterday leaving Lowe's with the bed full of Samsung appliances. I wanted to roll down my window and yell: "Friends don't let friends buy Samsung!"
We might have seen the same guy.
Amen!
Right on
That 14 piece Dewalt drill bit set has been $9.98 all over (Amazon, Home Depot, etc.) for weeks now.
I got a Bosch dishwasher. Stainless tub and washes from every angle. Love it
If you click on the Choose your gifts in the box with the craftsman it opens up the window of tools to choose.
In the hot humid summers here in nc he's 82 I'm 62 we went to harborfreight and got light bars on our mowers. Nothing to see us mowing at 10 PM
On memorial day I thanked my pastor for his service he was in 173 airborne in Nam. My father is payed away back In about 1995 or 96 . He was in ww2 a Korean and got out with like 25 yrs.and I got some brother in laws retired with 20 yrs.
Our LG front load isn't terrible. We bought it second hand from someone along with a matching dryer. Leaked when we got it, just needed to clean the seal. Also had a bad sensor that made it shut down due to balancing issues. After replacing the $15 sensor and cleaning the seal, we haven't had any issues for over 2 years now.
Samsung makes junk fridges. Parents bought a $2500 Stainless fridge with digital display, locking freezer on bottom. A year after buying it, they had issues where it would defrost on its own. parents tried turning it in under warranty, they sent someone out, they manually defrosted it and said that we are going to continue having problems because they drain plugs up on them and once it does that, it freezes and forces the whole unit into a defrost mode because the fan locks up. After fighting it for awhile, they eventually were able to return it. Replaced it with a more basic model from LG and didn't have any issues.
Was that fridge a bottom freezer? That is a common issue with all brands with bottom freezer.
A bit of re-engineering can fix some models but not all.
@@dwightsmith5174 Yes, it was a bottom freezer
The 8.5” table saw is supposed to come with the mobile base which is like $200 but it’s showing sold out for me. Sucks because that’s a great deal
I just wanted the stealth sonic vacs to go on sale. I have 2 in my woodshop. Need a 3rd for general cleaning.
Those charcoal packs used to be $10 for 2 twenty pound bags
When will Samsung pull its head out of its ass and start making reliable appliances?
I was in the market for a side-by-side fridge in 2015, and the word on the street way back then was "DO NOT buy Samsung!". (I bought a GE which is still going strong.)
And similar to you, Jeff......I have three Samsung TV's and two of their monitors. I couldn't be more pleased with them.
It just seems strange to me that they would want that stigma of a bad appliance maker hanging over their heads when they make great electronics.
I bought the samsung large capacity washer and dryer about 4 years ago. I have to work on them about once a year. I replaced a ton of stuff on them but it is cheaper than buying a brand new one.
For flat top griddles, I've been using the Cuisinart 360 XL for years now. Has three burners, 30" diameter cooking surface, grease tray that goes all the way around it, and two side tables that fold down. If you need to cook up burgers for a bit of people, you can get a lot of patties on there at once. I personally have had 20 patties on it at once. A more price friendly option of 1/10 the price if you're eyeing one of those $5,000 Evo grills.
I appreciate your very informative review. Many reviewers don’t realize the diverse type of audience that may be watching their videos. We’re not all professionals.
I've been waiting for the Ego hedge trimmer deal to hit... thank you for the update, Jeff! I'm tempted to jump into one of the mowers, as well, but not sure how big I want to go....
Thanks for the info on the grills👍
I bought the 7-1/4" Ryobi sliding miter saw u recommended a year or so ago and love it. Easy to take to jobsite and does what I need. My Herc 12" sits in my shop as it's so big to deal with unless I really need it. U suggested the Ryobi with a metal cutting blade but I will probably convert my old HF Chicago Electric(?) 10" non slider for that purpose... happy with them all!
The table saw free gift is the rolling stand for free. But the rolling stand is sold out so i think the system says "free gift" but since they dont have it in stock they arent showing it. My order would NOT fill because the stand was out of stock. Doesnt look like theyll honor it
My 30+ year Kenmore top loader is a beast.
I have the craftsman brushed grinder. So far for 3 years it doesn't disappoint in a mechanic shop environment
Shop Saturday, BBQ Sunday, attend the Memorial Day service Monday
Craftsman BOGO: buy string trimmer and get the industry's most compact edge trimmer for free! 😂😂😂
Thanks for the deals, Jeff. Some good, some meh. Your usual awesome content. I appreciate it! 😊😊😊😊❤❤❤❤
I had heard top loaders got clothing cleaner. The side loaders get more water out.
If a person has pets, get a top loader. The filters and drain pumps on side loaders HATE pet hair.
If you click on the “Choose your gift” and it brings it all up
My Samsung washer hasn’t been good. It’s 9 years old and works but has trouble with the spin cycle, plus it wables weirdly. The matching dryer has been trouble free since 2015. My LG electric stove has been terrific since then as well.
My question on battery mowers is if they fail, motor failure, etc. is it something you throw away or can you have them repaired/service. Not seeing any battery mower repair services out there.
My $700 Ryobi died after 2 years. If there's a service center nearby it's ok. I live in rural pa. Never again. 2 batteries to finish 1/2 acre
Service centers or you order the part and install yourself. Electrical motors are vastly simpler than gas engines.
The free gift with the Dewalt portable table saw is a portable miter saw stand. I didn't see it until I added it to the cart. I am not buying it but I think it is a better option/deal than the same saw with the regular stand they are offering.
@The Den of Tools Jeff, have you reviewed that soft topper on your truck?
Not yet I was waiting till I’ve had it for a full year
I bought a maytag front load admiral like 25 years ago I had to replace the bearings twice about 4-5 years and the second time was 3-4 years later as far as cleaning the clothes it’s ok not better than top loading though
Click on the chose more and it shows you the other options
Buy one get one free table saw... I should go and demand a free TABLE SAW! There is nothing to say it is anything else.
LG washers and dryers are great! They consistently are ranked very highly on reliability. I have a set that I bought over 10 years ago, and I just made the first repair that I’ve ever done to them yesterday. Had to replace the Hall effect sensor on the motor. Stay away from the rest of their appliances.
Electric Dryer
How much for electric dryer
That dewalt table say comes withva free DeWalt rolling miter saw stand. Added to cart and that "free gift" popped in there with the saw. Pretty sweet deal. Wonder if its hackable..... I just need the stand right now lol
Jeff! You have to click "Choose Your Gifts". My wife is about to run me off for yelling at the TV, lol.
I did that and got nothing. Maybe the web page was having issues.
@@denoftools I know I've seen you click there many many times in past videos. I just thought it slipped your mind, lol. As you said, I guess they goofed the web page.
@@DeepSouthTechie I doubt if the issue was on their end. Sometime components of a page won't load properly. It's not the first time that sort of thing has tripped me up.
I have a question about the Eco Flo, is it also and impulse suppressor and will it catch any spikes that come through your powerlines?
Yes. Harbor Freight soon. Thanks for reminding me
FYI craftsman’s bit case also connects to dewalts
If you’re getting a gas grill, be sure to get an infrared one
Unless you’re able to get commercial-grade stuff ($$$) most appliances these days are disposable. Get the extended warranty and count on replacing every 5 years.
If you replace in five years why on earth buy a ripoff extended warranty??????????
@@DIYDaveOK Because it’s going to break in 3-4 years.
craftsman pressure washer $100 cheaper than HF gas pressure washer.
Top loaders are always going to be better because they *work*. And ive never had to "clean" my toploader with a fungicide. The rhetoric to the contrary is marketing hype. There's a reason the longest-lasting and most durable models are toploaders, while the trendeist throwaway garbage is the frontloaders.
Glad to see you're finally wearing some gloves who knows you might even make it up to safety glasses😊
Man i worked in the automotive industry tires oil plus my first job ever was taking out trash top loaders got my clothes cleaned every time you just cant over fill them you setting them up for failure
Which pellets are better than Pit Boss?
What are your thoughts on the Husqvarna Leaf Blaster 350iB thats on sale for 299?
I have to say that I prefer Atomic to XR in DeWalt. Having been burned by Samsung I will never buy anything from them ever again.
I prefer the Atomic as well.
I'm in the market for a dryer.. Either from big blue or orange.. Although, I have a $75 off from Orange.. I know to stay away from Samsung and LG. So whirlpool? Maytag?
Both of those are solid choices.
It's interesting that my Lowe's ad in Western Washington has higher prices.
For the Flex battery plus free tool, there was a link right above the trim router to choose your free item. I'm not familiar with the Flex line, but recently ended up getting their drill and I'm thinking of getting into the line. Which option would you recommend in this deal?
I also just noticed that Craftsman 20v deals had similar links as well - must be a redesign of how they display the free item choices.
Separate question. How do you like that soft cap truck topper? I was just looking one of those myself.
Honestly, it's been great. I bought the seam sealant but never got around to putting it on and it's still been dry as a bone back there. In the summer it's survived Vegas and Alabama, tornado weather in Indiana, the winds and winter in Montana and when I need full access to my bed it takes about 1 min to get it taken down. I was worried when I was in Vegas and Nashville that stuff would get stolen out of the back but it's out of sight out of mind it seems.
@@denoftools For me it would mostly live in Florida. So the sun, heat, wind and moisture is an important part for me. Thank you for the information and your time.
The smaller battery operated walk behind mowers seem like they make sense for "smaller" properties, but unless you have another reason like noise issues as a concern, or the minor maintenance (oil, air filter, and the rare spark plug), they're not all thay great. Otherwise value and performance gas still has them beat by a mile. One of my properties is about a half an acre, with maybe only half of that with an actual lawn. It takes anywhere from 2 - 4 hours to mow it with a 21" walk behind. Reason is I usually do a cut with the discharge chute open, then a second mulch run with the chute closed to more evenly distribute the mulched left overs. But even if I do a single run it's still about an hour to 2 hours. Now the electric mowers advertise an hour run time, but that's for light cutting, on new batteries, with a sharp new blade, if your really fast and lucky. The more load you put on the mower the faster that run time drops below 60 minutes, so if you're cutting tall, or tough/thick grass, or doing mulching, you'll be closer to 30 minute run time. Which means if you want to knock out even a lawn as small as mine, you'll need an additional 1-3 batteries. Thats anywhere from $250 for a single 5ah, upwards of $750-1000, for additional batteries. God forbid you have an even larger property...now you're in zero turn gas mower price territory. Meanwhile i can knock all that out on a $300-500 gas mower, that costs anywhere from $20-$50 a season to run. You're never down on run time, or power, and don't need to sell your kid to buy extra batteries. Again they're not bad for really small stuff, or if you have other concerns you're trying to solve for, that gas powered equipment won't solve. For the majority I still think gas is the far superior option.
You do realize that most people do not cut their yard twice right? So you are making an argument based on a very niche situation. Also, my kids did lawns using electric for 3 years to make some extra money and never had issues like you are describing. Sure they never cut lawns twice but they also never had any of the other issues you are describing.
@@denoftoolsThis home isn't in an area where there's an overactive HOA, that walks around with rulers measuring grass height. So most people around here don't cut their grass as regularly as some other places, or rather as soon. Usually there's anywhere from minimum 6 to about 12+ inches of growth before people start cutting. Which if you tried to mulch at the same time as cutting really starts to stress walk behinds under about 220cc. It'll also leave big clumps of mulch behind. Crab grass and other weeds are pretty aggressive, and as close as all the properties are, it's almost pointless fighting them, cause your neighbor isn't. They're generally a much tougher grass/weed than regular grass. Which adds to the overall load. Now can electronic walk behinds handle those loads, probably, but they'll also eat way more watts, draining the batteries faster. Like I said, electric might work for some, but not everyone, they're not really a better value currently. The only reason they gained so much market is government forcing them on the public, not because it's necessarily a better product. California is one of the largest markets, and I believe are banning the sale of new gas mowers as of 2024.
@@BigBear-- If you need more power that you do things twice, why not get a more powerful mower?
They've gained a lot of market because for 75% of lawns, they're completely fine! It takes me about 5-15 minutes to mow the front and back yards with a 21in. I recently bought an EGO 21" mower for memorial day, and love it! Had to use a 22in Toro today and oh my god do I never want to go back to gas. The smell, the weight, the cord, it all sucked! I can't comment on cut quality as the mower I was using had very dull blades, but I think it cut worse (with new blades it would probably look great, Toro is a good brand)
@@gavinbad2371I don't have a problem with power with my gas mower. I do two runs mainly for other reasons. I thought I made myself clear in both posts. Why would I spend upwards of $1000+ on an electric mower that will still give me headaches, when I can do the same or better job with a $350-400 gas mower? With no worry of down time. Along with easy and cheap rebuildability. I also love the smell of gas powered equipment...so that don't bother me. I did say I'm sure electric is fine for some, with really small yards, or that have other concerns other than value and performance (and longevity). I personally don't care if people buy electric because they personally like them or want them. My main issue is forced market acceptance through government edict and the loon-bag climate morons.
@@BigBear-- im sorry for the confusion, but I meant a more powerful gas mower. From what i understood, you do 2 passes because the mower gets bogged down from the tall grass
What are we doing with harbor freight memorial day weekend sales?
Is the dewalt deal hackable?
I don't agree with the top vs front load washers. I own a business where I wash massage therapy laundry. I've had several GE front loads for years that I use all day 6 days a week. They are way better than top. Even for my own clothes, top loaders just didn't cut it. I just wouldn't buy Samsung because yes they are junk.
When do you think HF will have their dust collector on sale again for $199???
Not sure, it doesn't go on sale very often.
Video played but the image got stuck at the thumbnail for me. Had to slide the timeline to get the video to resume playing along with the audio. Come on YT! Get it together.
@denoftools can you recommend a BBQ that is portable? Like to the lake or beach or camping?
Gas, charcoal, or pellet?
@@denoftools probably gas. For ease of set up and breakdown
I just have a question. Not related to this post. You talked about a marker you liked that wrote on everything. Could you please let me know about it. Thank you. Great channel!!!!!
I did? I don't remember that. Sounds like a paint marker.
Another channel has talked about the Harbor Freight markers with the anti-rolling thing on the barrel. I go through a marker every four days in my job. Sharpies (real) last four days. Sharpies (fake) last three days. The HF markers last five or six days. So slightly better than non-fake Sharpies, in my experience.
lol go with LG if you’re good friends with a repairman. Nothing but garbage parts and engineering.
I've had an Ego mower for a few years now. Really enjoyed it at first, but started to notice that a lot of my grass wasn't actually getting cut, but rather pushed over. I could rake or swipe my foot and the grass would stand back up. I don't know if that's just an issue w/ not enough torque to lift the grass and cut out something else.
Clean under the deck and sharpen the blade.
@@BillLaBrie Thank you. I regularly do both.
@@justingriffin7127 Regularly. Like every 5 years?
More like cleaning every 1-2 months and seasonal sharpening.
@@justingriffin7127 sorry, you already blew it. You are suspected of mower neglect.
completely agree on Samsung appliances - they're complete junk. the refrigerators are particularly awful. the small recirculating fan sits next to the condenser behind a panel at the back of the fridge. they used cheap double-sided foam to seal the panel that ends up getting saturated, and the second there's any humidity in the air the condenser would begin to freeze up and the fan starts hitting the ice. every week or two during the summer to stop the thumping noise, I'd have to shut down the fridge, take off the back panel, defrost the fan and condenser, then put everything back together. horrible design - finally got rid of it last year. and their TV's aren't much better - the LED's they use in their backlights are hot garbage and burn out quickly. I fix TV's as a hobby for friends and lost track of how many Samsung backlights I've replaced over the years. and one little tip on not only Samsung TV's but any TV - turn down the brightness of your screen and it will last years longer. if you're running the brightness at 100% all the time - your TV will fail quickly. to make their sets stand out in the stores and look bright and amazing, they drive so much power through the backlights at 100% brightness that's the LED's are right at their tolerance limit. add in all the dust and heat with too much current and the depletion layer of the diode just gives out and burns out. and once the first one goes - that's more current going through the rest of them and more begin to fail until finally the voltage drops and the power board shuts down the circuit to protect itself. if you ever turn on your TV and can hear sound but no picture - that's the backlights that failed. and cheap TV's can even be worse where they wire LED's in series much like the old fashioned Christmas lights and once one burns out - they all go out. turn down the brightness on your TV to no more than 80 percent and it will last years longer
Is harbor freight doing a cool memorial Day sale?
Watch those brown outs!! 🫥
Naaah. We aaaallllll need electric cars, mowers, weed eater, etc. Yeah, I know "need" is a funny way of spelling forced into.
@@joshuagibson2520 I know electric doesn't fit everybody and every situation, but I like my battery powered weed eater.
@@moej6014 I'm 3+ years into my investment of Craftsman 20v tools. I have been considering one of the blowers and weed eaters, but they're just not very good products based on my research. Such as very low CFM on the blower, etc. I am interested for sure, but am happy that in my state it's still a matter of freedom and choice.
I live on a 3\4 acre area that is part of a total of 38 acres. They might make sense for my home situation but are totally inadequate for a lot of different things I do for income. I build and maintain miles of fence and clear ditches for a lot of property owners. For those tasks anything but gas is highly impractical.
If I can get a blower and weed eater for my yard that I am just as happy with as I am my angle grinder, sawzall, etc I will probably get them. But Craftsman is gonna have to step it up! The performance hopefully, but not the price.
Defintely don't ever buy a samsung refridgerator. I owned a samsung refridgerator and I'll never own a samsung product again.
