I've never owned a two stroke motorcycle or scooter, but a year ago I got a 2001 Honda Elite SR50 for $20. The engine wouldn't turn over and I assumed it was rust seized(it had been stored in a damp barn). Digging in I found that the rotor was clogged with mud and rust. After I cleaned that the engine kicked over. I got it to run and rode it down the street a couple times but it eventually refused to start. Turns out the crankcase had rust inside and that junk running through the cylinder scratched it resulting in low compression. I really want to fix this little scoot (and possibly make a video or two) but I'm broke and can't even afford a piston/cylinder kit and crank bearings. So I live vicariously through your videos of awesome two stroke scooters. Thanks man

that was a deep dive to do in 24 consecutive hours and it fired right up and rode away - bravo!

@that scooter thing keep watching this video as I’ve started learning my maintenance since inheriting my dads PX, 💯 great content
Have you guys made a Vespacross yet? That’s a project I want to do! What changes would you recommend to convert a PX Vespa to a mx Vespa

How much it's cost? For the engine

Once I heard Maynard JK in the background I knew everything would be ok.

I have a P200 frame but without the P200, I wanted a vespa again though the market prices have gotten unreasonable. I am looking for parts though the frame is completely stripped and starting from scratch would be insane

What is unreasonable? It is an interesting discussion, is 3500 too much for a running P? 5000?
As for building, I don't even wanna get into what this build would cost. Of course, some of the work would be approached may differently but think about it. 26 hours... cut some maybe 22 hours. And that is with 2 people. Take 33 hours. At a shop rate. That is 2800$ labor alone. (... actually that doesn't sound that crazy now). But then add the parts.
At the end however... you end up with something truly unique. That is what I mostly provide. One of a kind builds tailored to the customer's wishes and needs. I think the question to ask is if you want "a" scooter or "the" scooter? And then start saving, hah.

I restore motorcyles cosmetically and mechanically on my own as a hobby, here I keep finding non-running vespa's going for around $3500 like you were saying, but even for sprint 125 or 150s

I don't mind having to rebuild a vespa engine since the design is simple, I had a Super 150 in high school though my parents ended up forcing me to get rid of it. Been wanting a junk one to build myself ever since

why you use venturi? it makes the bike dry

The carb can be tuned so the engine will not be lean (or dry as you say)
