  • this is the first of several videos hopefully comparing and showcasing two awesome topwater Baits... The River2Seas Whopper Plopper developed by Larry Dahlberg from the TV show The Hunt for Big Fish is the Original or OG Bait...
it's been Copied by several other Brands over the years because it simply gets bit and catches Bass and all types of other fish Species from dinks to Giants...
SO actually the Choppo from Berkley is basically a knock off Bait but not really... it is made a little different so it does have a slightly different sound but not enough of a difference for me to think it's going to be better or worse than the original.. IT"S A BERKLEY WHOPPER PLOPPER.....
Now to be Fair.... almost every Bait on the market today is a copy or has been made to imitate another bait that was the original bait..
i keep giving Strike King Crap for Basically taking every bait ever made and having it copied and selling it as an original by them that was developed by some of their pro staff .. which i'm sure does happen ...
i'd actually like to know which brand actually made the first spinnerbait
poured the first worm, made the first spoon ect...
a list of original baits as far as i know would be
    River2Seas Whopper Plopper
Z man Elaztech silicone TRD Chatterbait HellRaiser
    Zoom Brush Hog Super Fluke
MegaBass Vision 110 but not the first jerkbait just the most copied
LuckyCraft first 1.5 Squarebill as we know it but not first crank for shallow water and going through cover...
    Bill Lewis RattleTrap
    Reaction Innovation Sweet Beaver
Now i could be wrong on a few of these and if you guys know for sure which baits were invented by certain companies comment below this video...
i'd honestly like to know who the first was to make the baits below...
i'm going to list baits and just the brand i associate with them that could possibly be either the original maker or at least the company that put or kept them on the map...
curly or hook tail worms...... Gene Larew were my first go to's
Spinnerbait no idea but Mann's strike king were first for me and War Eagle
Crankbait period Rapala Storm Norman Bagley come to mind but no idea
Buzzbait no idea but original design still the best...
Soft swimbait no not keitech just soft plastic paddle tail...

Excellent video. That Choppo sounds like a motorboat! Some primo fishing wisdom regarding fishing topwaters in general. A really good lure comparison to let us know about the WP Vs. the Choppo. A nice photo shot of the little bass on the WP190. A lot of topwater fun action even if the fish were small. You made me really nervous trying to unhook the bigger bass on your 2 on 1 lure catch...

You gotta take into account that the choppo is less expensive, and in many places can be found for noticeably less expensive, so if they catch the same, for the money, the choppo is simply superior.

I think Jack Hammer is different because it's tungsten not lead... And where you tie on at is imbedded in head so blade hits weight
