Can we just take a moment to admire this gentleman's casting accuracy?
yes... the guy can cast into anything,
Matt edits out the tree casts :)
I guess he can afford to take some risky shots since he can paddle up and untangle it.
Yes excellent casting!
Editing is a wonderful thing. You've been fooled son.
You Sir are a National Treasure
All day long. I don't have kids (and I don't think I'll ever want any), but if I did, Matt's NDYakAngler channel would be a big part of their lives. My very young nieces watch him with me from time-to-time and the calm, peaceful demeanor/nature of it all is just healthy for the soul.
Thank you for always staying on the bright and good side of TH-cam, Matt.
Couldn’t have said it better top water strike!
Master bass Angler
To answer your traditional ending: "hope you guys enjoyed the day out here in the kayak with me" Absolutely; *next best thing to being there.*
Thanks for the time and effort that you put into your videos. Without it we wouldn't be able to enjoy these great videos.
You catch more bass in a trip than I've caught in my life haha. Thanks for the content and letting me live vicariously!
What a perfect way to start a Sunday watching you Matt!!
Love your channel and thanks for always keeping it clean. I watch with my grandson sometimes and not have to worry about what he’ll hear is very nice . Great video as always
What do you do you dpo Sir when we in MN or anything in the frozen lakes & rivers/streams? Do you do. Any ice fishing? 😂
@@thumperwright5106 you having a stroke? Should we send help?
Agreed.
I have been surfing for a couple of years now trying to find this exact channel. Almost every other fishing channel is like "look at me, I'm the star" and "here's my face stuffing into your face" and a lot of loud useless talk and noise. This channel is peaceful, instructive - with one whom I would describe as a true professional angler doing what he likes to do instead of a constant self promotion channel. Very admirable. Thank you so much for sharing. I think I will enjoy going through all your 300+ videos (done 5 so far and I just found your channel today).
Agreed. And there's nothing more annoying to me than the guys who kiss their fish. How stupid is that.
Yes Matt is a pro - always great! The other thing with these videos is his (not to talk as if you aren’t there) reverence for each fish. Thank you for not taking them for granted Matt. You’re professionalism and ethical respect is quite unusual out here in youtube land.
I appreciate your videos. Nobody taught me how to fish and it’s nice to have guidance. Thank you
Thank you, Matt, for another wonderful, relaxing day floating the river with you while you work your magic. It's spellbinding!
Dude!!!! The Choppo 75 is DEADLY! Love throwing it out.
You had some beautiful fish visit you. Thank you for bringing us along on your trip to the wilds. Be well.
Matt, thank you for taking us along on another great fishing adventure. Big congratulations on reaching 300K subscribers, definitely well deserved.
That is my go to bait for smallmouth here in Virginia they crush it good. Had some big ones yesterday on it. Thanks again for another awesome adventure. Late.
I think I've become a better angler just from watching your videos! thanks for the tips and the time you take to make these videos!
Choppo in Bluegill is a great smallie lure ! Been using for a year now and quite impressed 👌. Glad you gave it a try 👍
The shad colour did some damage for me this fall 👌
@@ianalderson9602 sweet ! I'll pick one up and give er a try ! Thanks
Wat size to get
@@namelessmotions3390 The 75 size . It's great 👍
I killed with it in bluegill on largemouth 2 weeks ago
Awesome video again Matt! I really like the louder plop the choppo makes personally!
I’ve had good success with the Choppo…..
One thing ive learned from watching your videos is how to net the fish and then slip the handle under my leg off to the side. I had issues landing fish until i saw an example of how you do it. Ive only been kayak fishing for a bout 2 months so im still learning. Thanks for being super relaxing and educational to watch!
Yes he has kayak fishing down to a science. When you have so much clutter in such a small space, you have to know what you're doing.
I love this channel! I give thumbs up every time right when I start the video, because they never fail!
I just love watching your videos. It keeps me busy during this cold weather
The choppo 75 is my first topwater lure..love to see you using it in your videos 😅😂👍
Congratulations on 300k!
Always enjoy your fishing trips. Thanks for sharing!
The Choppo is my #1 go to topwater, especially the frog pattern! I definitely run both but I think the choppos sound better and I don't get my line wrapped on the hooks during casts like I do the Plopper 75. But hey they both have a place in my tacklebox!
Congrats on 300k!! I love watching your pike and musky fishing videos even tho I’m a southern bass fisherman
I’ve always switched between the two because the sound is a little different. The hooks are different too. The Plopper has a more robust hook while the Choppo has a lighter wire. I actually think my hook and land ratio might be better with the Berkeley hooks.
Berkley Fusion hooks are awesome.
Listening to you narrate your fishing is like listening to Mr. Rogers 🤗
Let’s go! Just picked up the choppo 75 the other day! Keep it up, right lines.
Oh gosh, how great it is to watch your new relaxing video right after lunch? ❤
Lunch? Lol
@@hustlasstory7611 I think he is in Italy….late lunch
@@waltgr6470 🙂
@@hustlasstory7611 it was 3pm 🤷🏻
Shocking news for you: other time zones exist.
Greetings from the future! 🇮🇹
(Yes, I just had dinner) (pizza, of course.)
Totally agree with the lure choice! I have broken several Choppo & Googan Revolvers because of the plastic plopper but I have never once broken a whopper plopper.
Beautiful fall day fishing in the Midwest! Great post!
Literally ordered that exact Choppo yesterday. Excited to give it a try. Good stuff buddy
Another great vid! I love that you show us the cast, the splash and the retrieve - great photography! Thanks!
It is awesome to see how loud the Choppo 75 plops, it's on my shopping list for sure! I already love the Whopper Plopper 75. I don't care for either the Choppo 90 or Whopper Plopper 90. The plopper tails on each are too small and those lures must be burned way too far before the plopping begins.
Berkley choppo for the win! Great video Matt
I love when I watch your videos and know where you are. This is a great spot. 😉😊
That color is magic I just bought it 2 days ago and crushed like 20 bass on it already
Well done on 300k subs.
Love watching you fish, I can hear the water…. That’s what’s part of fishing ,for me, thank you
I love your videos! Thanks for always sharing
I love these river videos they are always so calming
I’m new in your channel but by far the best one !!!! I’ve seen all the vids . All the best from Portugal !!!! 😊
I go to the choppo over the plopper most days. I've been the heck out of them and used them for years on end.
This is a #1 kind of Angler Show viewer experience.
It's "10" .
I’ve been waiting for this one!!! Choppo is King
I'll probably never get tired of your vids. Best fishing-content here on TH-cam 👍
Sunday Morning Yak followed by football, can't get much better than that!
Choppo is my favorite lure, standard buzz bait was my go to for the longest time. Then I tried the choppo, I was hooked with how many fish I was catching on it. Rewatching your old videos and boy I can't wait for spring and summer. I am having such a hard time finding a decent ice fishing spot this year, making it hard to get into. As soon as I'm able to get out on my kayak, I will be out there enjoying the beautiful sound of open water.
Thanks Matt ,great video & solid advice!
Absolutely fantastic video man love yer stuff so much
Such good content for a slow Sunday.
This is one of my all time favorite baits for smallmouth. They hit it so hard every time!
Excellent as always!!
your new channel viewer from Cleveland Ohio..... love the fishing videos
I’m literally doing the same thing. I’m a WP guy myself, but saw some Choppos on sale. Aesthetically I prefer the Choppos, but the sound and feel are about the same. Both fun of course. Tried the Maverick 90 and the Bone 75 is next. Keep up the lure vids. They’re always fun.
Definitely need to try this one out. Congrats on 300k!
Huzzah. NDYakAngler posted!
I love it at 14:29, "Thats a fish!" You aced it too! Lol Watching your videos is so relaxing compared to most. No drama at all! I love the relaxed style!
This guy is like the Bob Ross of fishing, his voice is so calming.
Love your videos. Best fishing channel. I’ve been using Choppos 75 and 90 this fall on a small Crown lake here in Ontario and I like them. Ones a perch and the other a frog. The smallies are going for them. Mostly reaction strikes which makes it that much more fun. Here in Canada the Choppo is also roughly ten bucks cheaper than the Whopper Plopper.
Nice trip thanks for dragging me behind the kayak with ya!
Your cast accuracy is insane!
I'm sure he has PLENTY of footage of him casting into the trees. Maybe some day we'll get a really good "whooper bloopers" video.
Its a skol vikings thing 😏
@@rolandgdean he's shown a few. But only a few. The comments below are talking about how surprised people are that he's human. 😁
You are the original fish whisperer. I am amazed at your ability to catch fish regardless of which lure you use. Do you have a favorite? You clearly can fish with any lure that’s available today. I remain impressed
I’d say either a Whopper Plopper or a hollow body frog depending on where I’m fishing. They’re both easy and fun to fish and effective at catching them.
@@ndyakangler thank you. I’ve got a whopper plopper. And the frog. Haven’t had much luck with either in my neck of the woods. But I’ll keep trying them. Love your channel.
Loved the video, Brother! Just a tip I learned from watching others use these type baits is that ALWAYS have a worm ready for those times when you miss them. Throw them in the area and get them!
Congrats on 300k! You are a true inspiration sir!
Trust me you go love that choppo better.. I was a whopper plopper fan but after picking up a choppo 3yrs ago I haven’t touched my plopper again the plop is much deeper and holds better in any water conditions
Such great content and scenery.
Really love your videos (all of them) !
Just can't wait 'till Sunday to get a new one to view.
Just keep on !
Thanks for that! I'm one of the guys that comments about the Chopo.
I prefer the Whopper Plopper too, for various reasons, but around here there's a $6 difference, IF you can find Whopper Ploppers. They're hard to find in stock. Really hard.
I've caught more fish with my Chopo - well technically, I've caught fish more often, two of my days with the Whopper Plopper I caught more than 30 bass - but that might be just because it was the one I had tied on at the time, because the WP are so scarce, or, maybe it's the sound. The Chopo has a higher pitch, and maybe a slightly faster rotation.
For what it's worth, I've been snagged many times, on rock and log, including some that I took advantage of the 50lb braid to get out. I've bent some hooks, but I've never broken the tail/blade. I can see how it could happen, and be a concern though.
Thanks again! I LOVE your content!!!!!
I picked up a couple Choppo 75’s earlier this summer and tried to go out and shoot a video but about an hour in with maybe one fish caught I threw it right into a tree branch and the tail snapped off. I like to have two lures with just in case of pike so I tied the second one on and about five minutes later just barely nicked a low hanging limb and tail number two was gone. I grabbed a couple more to try, thinking it might have been just bad luck on the previous trip, and the second time I didn’t have any issues.
@@ndyakangler good to know. I like the hooks better on the WP, and the lower tone of the chop, so the [at least] potential of a brittle tail on the Chopo is just one more reason to prefer the WP. They're just SO HARD to find around here. My daughter got me the for Christmas, and she had to order them online.
Hey Matt great video my brother!!! I love the sound of the crickets at the end of the video!!!
Once again, the Bob Ross of fishing strikes again... no pun intended. 😁 Beautiful scenery, great action, and the soothing narration is the icing on the cake. Looking forward to the next adventure in the kayak...!
Congrats on the 300k!!! Been here since about 50k. Fav channel then, fav channel now!
Congrats on hitting 300K subs!
Nice Sunday morning surprised at work, thanks
double time and watching yakman 👍
Thank you for such beautiful content 😊
Congrats reaching 300k yak!!! I truly appreciate the videos you produce on the water! Make a man wanna tell his wife he’s running to the store for a minute to pitch a line !!!
Congrats on 300k my guy! Well deserved! Long time sub
Awesome vid, and congrats on 300k subs!! 🎉
I caught my pb largemouth from the kayak with this same lure. Great video!
Congrats on 300K subs. Definitely well-deserved. 🙇♂
I would love to have the opportunity to fish for bass one day. In Europe I mostly do carp and pike fishing. It's a rush when you hook a pike top water, but I dream to be able to fish bass from kayak in the river.
Great video! congrats on 300k!
Matt love the videos keep up the great work
these are great to sit back and enjoy 👋😎👍
Really enjoying your fishing videos, thanks.
Thank you as always!
I wish I had smallies in my area. Really a beautiful fish.
Best fishing videos on TH-cam IMO
perfect sunday video :)
Awesome video!!! Great catches!
Have you tried the whopper plopper 60?
I know it’s small but I’ve been killing it on largemouth and peacock bass out here in Puerto Rico with them. It would be a fun challenge to catch big smallies on them 🤙
I tried a WP 60 last year but it started taking on water about an hour after I started fishing after catching a pike on it. I’m guessing that pike thrashed enough to open up a gap where the wire runs through the lure and it started sinking shortly after. The only other issue I had with it is it’s so light I had a hard time casting it accurately so I had to switch to a spinning rod.
@@ndyakangler Nice! Bet those were some crazy blow ups!
Definitely is light, I’ve thrown mine on a medium or medium light 10lb braid and 14 lb mono leader.
In case you do make a video that would be awesome! Anywho, keep up the great work and content!! 🤙
Awesome as usual sir!
Always enjoy your work!
Thanks for yet another well done and entertaining video.
Great video Matt. We do appreciate your side by side comparison of lures. Bought a couple Ozark frog lures for a buddy and I'm confident he'll catch fish. Loving putting the Whopper Plopper 75 perch and 60 monkey butt and bone colors to use. Hard to beat when the bass are aggressive. Thanks for taking us along again brother. Blessings
Only TH-camr that I hit like before I watch cause it's always an excellent congrats on 300 hundred thousand subscribers
Wonderful watching you. Topwater for smallies is SO good. If youre taking any more requests....SPRO Cyclone Prop Jr! Weird! Had great luck with it last month fishing La Chute river into Lake Champlain! Mine was "Bone Duck" color. Have since bought two more! ( Spring in my area brings cottonwood tree "fuzz" EVERYWHERE! It gums up the works on my smaller Whopper Ploppers. Not a problem with the Spro.)
Huge fan man! you turned me on to River2Sea lures and I absolutely smashed the bass this year in Ontario! cheers man, happy fishing
Awesome. Also, congrats to 300k
Love your Vids Matt! I'm a huge W.P. fan but have been throwing the Choppo a lot this year with great results on both Large & Small jaws. Thanks for your work!
Another great day! Thanks!
