Hey Beaver, fun fact: the dinosaur you see Kong Fighting in the loading screen is actually a copied model of the Maulausarus from Jurassic World’s concept artwork! They literally copied the design for the model just for a loading screen. Also there’s a cutscene later in the game where the game goes out of bounds and shows a png because the creators were too lazy to animate a flashback
I think the biggest tragedy of this game is the fact they brought back elements of the novel and comic, featuring Gaw and the Deathrunners for the first time in a digital media,.. And the game is like this? Come on guys, you had it in the bag!

There’s Kong King of the Apes which artistically speaking is close to this game but when it comes the story and what lives on the island it’s very different. No Gaw, no Deathrunners, but a lot of robots and just straight up regular dinosaurs (T rex, triceratops etc) There’s also that one Skull Island cartoon but that’s a monsterverse thing with giant bulldogs for some reason so that’s a fair bit different there too

The easiest answer to why really really big things die off, is they are to big to exist. They simply were selected by nature to die off cause of sustainability similar to big carnivores, they eat their prey go to the point they starve, and with a big guy like that, well they burn so many calories that they need to maintain that all the time. At least that is my theory. Big apes would have been prey for big carnos and with very few apes it would be hard to keep their numbers up. Till the last one dies from something random.

nah you cant even kill it. I tried. I got it stuck in between two trees and spammed the rock throw. After it got around halfway on the healthbar, the cutscene started and my character was force killed.
The fact that Kong is literally almost the size of a crab just shows how small he really is. Same with the small little chicken things. But compared to the dragon thing, Kong is pretty large.
Depending on which Kong you're talking about. His species could have been killed by anything. From competition with dinosaurs(Peter Jackson kong) Or having his species wiped out by 2 legged reptile things.(the Monstercerse) It really all depends.

So like…if you beat that big dinosaur as Mama Kong (it’s clearly possible) does it still kill you afterwards? Cuz I doubt that this game is actually creative enough to let Mama Kong winning impact the plot.
