  • This is a Ford Rallye Sport retrospective of the early days of rallying, presented by Stuart Turner. There are interviews with Peter Harper, Timo Makinen, Paddy Hopkirk and Roger Clark as well as other luminaries of the age. Footage of rallies from the late 50s, into the 60s illustrate the narrative. Turner wonders at the end if the 1970s will also be seen as a "golden age".

    I love to see and here a good rally escort today's modern rally cars don't seem to have any character and to complicated for me. Great film mate. 👍🇬🇧

    what we see is really not rallying, it is road racing against the closk but I'm being picky. I started rallying in 1960 and then we would be issued a route card of a route about 15 minutes prior to the start and then had to navigate across all the small roads of the UK at an average speed of 30mph. Today the route is known and crews have pace notes on closed roads. This is still a superb video.
