- Despite not being known for their heavy tanks, France made a pretty decent attempt with the ARL-44 ACL-1. It is very reminiscent of the German Tiger II, though it doesn't have comparable armor or armament. It's one of my favorite War Thunder heavies.

All of the late war / early post war French heavy tanks look like store brand knockoff King Tigers, which sounds like an insult but they're pretty cool.

From my experience playing it, upper front plate. And of course, the forehead.
Gaijin has a glitch that makes it that the track is like a part of inside the tank so if you shoot it it either overpressures or goes through with ease

@@Fantax92 The FV4005 at least has extreme one-shot potential, whereas the Conway while have better penetration than most late-game MBTs, it has absolutely zero spalling with an almost comparably bad reload (yes, 19 sec vs. 39 is not really comparable, but both reloads are certainly in the trash tier, making dynamic gameplay almost impossible).
Both vehicles are stationary sniper-type tanks, meaning you'll want to make your shots count...and guess which tank is better for that role.
Granted, with the 05 you need to aim more carefully, but that's a matter of getting used to it.

One of my favorite things about the arl 44s is that despite the fact the upper front plate of the td can bounce an is-2 shell, the track compartments count as an internal module so if they shoot the tracks it will overpressure the crew

Ostwind legitimately has something off to it, it's an AA but I see russian youtuber die to it in a KV-220 when angling

The players that make the game garbage are the "lvl 100 payer who plays air but is too bad for air, and it wants to stat masturbate with 'radar' on".
Sweden when the maps are being crunched and you hear constant "SALTYAGGRESSIVEvRoOoOoOoO... pewpewpewpewpew eeeeep OOOOOOOOM BOOOOM" sounds after killing someone. Most cringe shit when you have to play for your team.

i feel that encountering this at low tier is a slaughter
I use it it's really good because of it angled front plate and rounded top makes it hard to pen when angles unless you have a big cannon

Attempt 44 Challenge: For high tier support a nations MBT with its respective APC/IFV counterpart (ie Abrams/Bradley, T90/BMP2M, etc.) Challenge is keeping the other player alive and supporting it without stealing kills (breaking barrels, tracking, repairing, etc) it being a random should help make it interesting.
Get a random to 1st position sounds fun and a thing that only or lord and saviour spooks could do

You probably know this already but the engagement with flaky the flak bus is cause Overpressure has a predetermined sphere of influence. So any extremely long or wide open top you need to aim dead center lengthwise to ohk. Hope it's helpful tips for everyone.

Absolutely love this thing, I bounced a Tiger like, 3 times, me and a Jumbo were holding back the entire enemy team from spawn, and I almost killed a KV-85, though I managed to nonpen the unangled front of the tiger at point blank range twice or thrice idk how that happened
can fonfirm, this this feels like an underappreciated monster in anything other than a full uptier. it angles incredibly well and actually has really good mobility for a tank of its class. easily my fav tank

Your miraculous survival on the Rhine map reminded me of the first time I used the Chi-Nu and it also happened to be on the Rhine map. I was absolutely surrounded and somehow survived 6 different tanks. Honestly no idea how, but it felt good. I then proceeded to be vaporized right after I finished repairing.

There is another weakspot to this tank- the gun mantlet. whenever you get shot there, your turret crew or breech will be gone
My greatest fear is running into spookston when I’m playing brain dead
In the interest of clarity, the ACL-1 does *not* have the same hull armor thickness as the higher BR ARL. it does share the same slope though, so it is hilariously effective at its BR

The ARL44 had a prototype with an ACL1 turret fitted with the american 76mm gun but it got replaced by the schneider turret based on the one designed for the Char F1 and fitted the 90mm DCA naval AA gun. so in chort the ACL1 was the tank with the american 76mm and british 17 pounder if lucky and the arl 44 had a Char F1 turret and a 90mm AA chip gun.

Recently spaded both ARL-44 playing low-tier France with my nephew as he was starting the tree. I really learned to like them a lot.
Did find that low tier France these days is probably 90%-95% uptiered. The couple of games we had at our tier or at a lower tier were pretty amazing. lol
But it seems to play to the "Screw the French" mentality Gaijin seems to have lately. I play my 7.7 or 8.0 lineups and permanently uptierd. SO MUCH FUN fighting things my gun can barely pen under perfect conditions and can sneeze in my general direction from across the map to send me directly to hangar.

I love the ARL-44s mainly because they are heavy-ish tanks that only sorta work because not many people verse them and know how to really defeat them
Spookston getting mollywoped in the ARL and coming out fine is possibly the best way to describe the vehicle. Also, fun fact, the upper front plate on the two ARLs are not the same.
