Low tier tanks in War Thunder are often limited to APHE rounds that aren't very good at getting through armor. The Swedish Strv m/41 S-I premium light tank gets around this by slinging APDS or sabot rounds, which will go through just about anything.

The APDS at 1.0 makes low tier Sweden so fun. Then you get to 3.3 and realize there is absolutely nothing in the tech tree until you hit 5.0
They need to add all the German and soviet ww2 stuff to them then it will be good

but then you get to 5.0 and realise there is nothing until 7.7-8.0
1.7 is so fun too
theres a great lineup with the finnish pz 4 and t34, its a great lineup. add one of the swedish TDs and you have a very capable lineup
Yesterday, a leak list came out that had what was called the Panzer6B on it, and I know what it is. It's the Tiger II P that Sweden got post-WWII for evaluation on how to make their Army better.
If that list is true, Sweden will have it's first heavy tank in the game.

Like look at the Kranwagan, it has full blueprints made but gaijin didn't add it....yet they have tanks like ostwind/wirblwind, the funny pancake russian tank, Ho ri production/prototype and a lot of other stuff that didn't exist but still added. I'm starting to think gaijin really doens't want to give Sweden a heavy tank

Fun fact, a old military airfield near me that is now a museum have several turreted bunkers made with the turrets from this tank ^^

To be fair it's way more common in beginner tiers than in higher ones, on some tanks you can take full ammo load and use it as makeshift add-on armor (tho it can still be detonated, just way lower chances of that happening)

A friend absolutely loves low tier sweden and often brings them to higher tiers as a meme and actually manages to perform ok. I've seen him kill centurions and one shot centauros with APHE, I've also seen him snipe planes off the air with the sabot. It's a stupid bunch of vehicles at such a low br and think it would be very fun to see you attempt the nuke thing with these.

@shahramtondkarmobarakie1824 Russia gets all the heat because they have so much stuff that basically doesn't exist in the game. Such as tanks with features they don't actually have. They also have gotten almost every gap filled while other nations don't.
Though also Sweden doesn't get as much as they don't have the playerbase like the Big 3 have. Which some of their vehicles are ludicrously powerful while others are just sad. It's a 50/50 gamble
spookston the ammo doesnt always explode because you sometimes hit a solid shot with no explosive filler

2:15 I think you might be able to kill tanks by ramming into them with an airplane in Simulator Battles, but that game mode is a whole another can of worms in many ways, since friendly fire is enabled for everything and not having 3rd person view can actually be quite scary as well.

I'm a low tier and I used to play Sweden until like 3.0 I think, at those tiers the APDS started to feel very underpowered. Could very well be skill issue on my part, but I kept getting a lot of non-pens, especially against T-34s and the KV tanks. You are too good man
The Turán I does infact has better armor than a Tiger I, thats why the germans had to give us Tigers to use since we were too op with the Turán(s)

This is why Gaijin nerf the APDS is because it seem to OP and now it shoots like a rifle round but doing no damages unless you hit the crew or other components inside the tank.

for refrence, the first american tank with sabot is the the m41a1 at 6.3 and sweden gets it at reserve teir.
There's also the Stormpjas, which at the right angle can 1 shot the object 279.
the radio is likely really detailed because gaijin gets all their models from 3rd party model makers so tanks could be differently modeled from others because they were made by different people, someone who cares about the internals, and someone who only cares about the externals

You should play the French GMC truck with the 40mm autocannon on the back, things a pure riot at low tier
It’s not the fact that this tank is op. It’s the fact that every single 37mm or atleast the majority of em have APDS as an option
The pain of not having the APDS on low tir Sweden was bad. You get a bad AP shell stock, and the AP with HE filler has a slightly worst pen for slightly better damage.
Can't believe they still haven't added the 6 pdr APDS, literally the first APDS in the world. Would go well with Churchill III/IV and Cromwell III.

The Lago makes me cry every single time I hop in it to drive. It's ammo kinda sucks but it can take a punch, you should try it.
Yeah when this nation came out they had so little to put into the game the devs apparently spent all their hours over detailing these tanks. I mean essentially the tank was already in the game at that point, and this was one of the only normal premiums. The thing is really good and you can bring it in to much higher matches and just scout or flank, or do whatever with it. Now sweden has quite a bit of Norway on the team so it isn't so bad these days. Nice to seeing you enjoying it. I actually don't think it does as well when downtiered. After all this was a swede post war tank and I can see how, though the turret traverse is a tragedy.
im currently playing in BR 3.7 as Britain and seeing that small Swedish tank in that tier destroy tanks that my tanks cant even imagine destroying cus the British shells are so unreliable makes me kind of jealous

i fired 5 shots at a t28 turret from 50 meters with the sabot and 3 of them nonpenned, one of them shattered and one penned. i think my "railgun" might be defective..

See what you have to remember when you ammo rack a russian tank is that half of the ammo is actually filled with counterfeit filler thats mostly Iranian styrofoam pellets so it won't explode when you shoot it.

If you like bullying heavy tanks and overpressure light taks you should try the AUBL/74 and/or the FIAT6614. One is flexible but it has a kinda weak heat, the other has ludicrous depression and penetration but slow reload and turret rotation. Both are fast. Literally the fastest at that BR and before (R3 excluded)

APDS is wild man, ive been playing the cent mk 2 alot lately and the ammo never knows if its going to kill something or not, i probably get 2 assists for every kill lol

personally as an italian main, i want to see you driving the R3 SPAA at 5.0, it’s been a struggle for me.
the R3 is really good, but you really need to play like a rat to take advantage of its full potential. (personally i'd like to see it moved up to like 7.7 but given APDS and reclassed as a light tank because it would be funny)

Day 27 You should play a tank with hydropneumatic suspension (recommend the MBT-70) But the catch is you have to drop the suspension as low as it can go for the whole match.

Play the lancia 3RO. Its very… unique with 100mm HESH, and an anti-concrete shell that i think is the the second slowest round in the game at 244 m/s, all at like 1.7
