As an avid player of the 103's this is basically how I play. The shovel is actually very useful the trick is just to be efficient with them. Getting just a little pile in front of your lower glacis anywhere on any map is huge. To make one, you move back and fowrth until you've made the little coke line of dirt in front of you then go back to aiming. Turn off hull aiming when moving and digging.
I know it won't protect you from almost anything but a little hill can mess up enemy's deapth perception, even if they have laser rangefinder sometimes you can appear further out than you are. Saved me a couple of times in object 292.
i heard you hate british vehicles, vehicles that do no damage and vehicles that are basically CAS magnets, so i think you should play the ratel 90; a gigantic british light tank with no armor, that only gets 90mm HEAT with a 7 second aced reload and that somehow always gets strafed by planes before it's even allowed to leave spawn (day 88)
Day 102 You should play a tank with hydropneumatic suspension (recommend the MBT-70) But the catch is you have to drop the suspension as low as it can go for the whole match.
Spookston you gotta play the AMX M4 since its an ultimate menace of 6.7 with its autoloading 90mm with PCO-50, you need to honor every french mains that carries their teams from downtier to full uptiers by playing the AMX M4
The Stridsvagn 103 is one of those rare vehicles where I actually recommend bringing full ammo. You reload so fast and are likely to fire just as fast that it becomes quite necessary and if you’re playing it right, you will not be ammoracked a whole ton. Also, slinging HESH is funny with the 103.
I wish there was a mode like this is war thunder, where you have to be tactical and set up positions and stuff and like actually work with ur team and air players and stuff idk
Like actually coordinate ambushes and things like that on larger scale maps, not just rush around everywhere with tanks and get bombed instantly idk how to explain properly but im sure people will understand what i mean

Bro bring a couple of HESH in the 103. The HE isn't enough to take out medium tank roofs (only 23mm pen) but the HESH (127mm) can easily take out people who leave their roofs exposed.
New suggestion, historically accurate Churchill VII. It was a 6 pounder shot from a Churchill VII into the turret ring of Tiger 131 which forced the crew to abandon the tank. I'm sure that the snail will have no problem modelling this and you'll have a breeze fighting 5.7 German tanks.
Trenches have actually saved my life a few times in the T72/T80, if you need to take a point thats in the middle of a field it can help to smoke and hunker down
i have an idea for the challenge that will be not painfull at all haha :) in USSR tree there is a tank SU-5-1, its maximum ammo capacity is 8 the challenge is to get 8 kills (or maybe even more!) with this tank in a single match 8 bullets, 8 kills
Play the Fiat/Ansaldo M11/39. It has everything low tier Italy has to offer. Bad armor, bad speed. The 37mm gun has APHE, but its casemated. Best of luck. (attempt 8)

broken feature bloat in war thunder is so real volumetric entrenching hull aim as a whole drones spotting because it barely works with mechanics from bloody ground arcade battles the entirety of naval
The zt3a2 is such a sad vehicle, the rockets 1/3 of the time nose dive into the ground, 1/3 do their own thing, and the other third actually go where you aim, good luck for it to do damage and no be absorbed by the optics

Idea: Play a Tank but shift manually (in the Z menu there is a gearbox option to shift with keys instead of the game doing it for you)
