This wee gem should have been shown on the open road or winding country lanes, where it really excels. Doing handbrake turns like boy racers does not do it justice. The car is peppy, lively and fun. It handles corners like a go kart on rails, with a brilliant gearbox and great power to weight ratio. Reliable and durable too.

Iv owned a 2013 swift sport 5 dr for a year now and I can say there is nothing wrong with it, Very comfy to drive, shit size boot but the 136 bhp engine makes up for it, after 4000 rpm the vvti kicks in and it becomes a different car and puts others to shame, cracking 6 spd box, climate control, cruise control, push button start, keyless entry, handles well through the corners and can lose bigger more powerful cars through the bends, off the line its a very quick car, not planning to change it anytime soon.
That was a far more valuable review than the video!

Pretty sure it has VVT not VVTI. The power is evenly dispersed through the entire rev range it's not like V-TEC.

I bougth a 2020 Suzuki Swift Sport BoosterJet 1.4 l Mt some days ago, because the test drive was great.
I know some people thinks that this is a girl ride, but I like it a lot.
I find it unisex. It is a beautiful, elegant car.
Sold my CooperS for a Swift sport.
It drive better with better fuel economy.
It is better at being a Cooper than today's Mini in my honest opinion.

@@oliverhibbs5174 Swift is far more reliable. So it would be a easy choice for me. French brands usually not that reliable which is a shame because I do like some of their cars.

The 2017 suzuki swift sport makes 134hp and does 0-62mph in 8.7 seconds. Hm ok, when you think that a 2014 mini COOPER (close to base model engine) makes 134hp and does 0-62mph in 7.6 seconds and the quality and driving experience is much better costs a bit more I believe anyone who considers this should save a bit more money and buy a 2014 and over mini. Have you sat in one? I've sat inside both cars and the swift is all plastic, yes it's cheaper but for a bit more you get a LOT LOT more.
@@lex_uss I Own a M5 F10 that is the love of my life, other than my GF... got to tell you Mini is own by BMW and as good the cars are, the fukin prices to maintain ... is cheaper to pay a plastic surgeon and a brain surgeon than to pay a bmw mecanich with oem parts.... will bet that the japanese car is way more durable reliable and cheaper to own....
Currently looking to downsize to one of these from my big diesel, nice looking little cars with good reviews. Can pick one up with decent mileage for £5k. Sold.
What a piss poor review, who gives a toss about handbrake turn parking ! I had that mastered before I had a licence, we have short listed a Swift Sport as a second car, would like to see it on the handling circuit !

You can argue that the early GTI turbo was Japan's answer to the little wizz bangs coming from Renault and Peugeot at the time. They used to embarrass many V8 drivers at the stoplights. And they would do it day after day, not " have a drive then take it home and fix it!"

@@stefanmichael5054 onlyonly speaking from my experience but mine was absolutely fantastic. I had a 5 door in black. No problems whatsoever. Amazing car I wish I could have it back.
Where on earth did all this rubbish about "cheap interiors" start?! All sorts of car reviewers touching random parts of the interior saying it feels "cheap". I can't remember the last time I drove a car and thought HOLD ON I'M GOING TO TOUCH THE PLASTICS IN THE FOOTWELL AND LAMENT AT HOW CHEAP THE PLASTIC IS THERE.

I have owned a few R34 Skyline, an S15, Celica, VW Gti, MX-5, 350z etc, and I drive the Swift Sport more than any of them. I love it the most too as it is so driveable and agile!
You’d be dumb to keep a golf r over one of these. What’s the point of a 1600kg “sports” car. It’s just a shame there isn’t a rear wheel drive alternative these days.

The Japanese spec swift is almost a different car...uses a more powerful more efficient k12b engine.
Then let's not even get started when it comes to safety... 5 star rating with 7 airbags vs a death machine that can't even muster a drivers airbag.

Generally quick refers to time, fastrefers to speed. In common usage, such as basketball, "quick" refers to acceleration while "speed" refers to velocity.
