Pro: shawarma, chill people (generally), you get a lot for your housing, quite a bit to do, being in the center of the Middle East Europe isn’t that far away and so is Asia, Formula 1 and you can actually race on the Bahrain intl circuit for a decent price, Tea. Cons: not much outside of the northern part of the island, air quality, July August and early September is basically cancelled, SAUDI drivers. Honorable mention: the harassment isn’t limited to women, I had like 4 Thai women run up on me in a club in juffair, that was a weird one.
I landed in Bahrain in 1970 and have seen the island develop, the causeway to Saudi was just being planned, my husband was Bahraini we lived in Riffa by the police station. Our children were last in Bahrain in 2011 with myself to celebrate Eid with our family 😊
Bahrain is a special place. I have a lot of nostalgia for my time living there. One teacher I worked with in the Middle East retired to there…a worthy step. I like Coral Bay, City Centre, the Bahrain Rugby Club, Juffair, & all of the restaurants, al Dar island, scuba diving, all of it!
Bahrain has that rough around the edges, lived-in feel that's missing from a lot of places in the Gulf, which I think makes it more interesting and genuine than places like Dubai. I spent a couple months there total while In the Navy and there's something very nostalgic about it for me.
I totally agree with that! Lots of old and new to explore. While there were definitely places you could experience the culture, there were also incredible malls!
Mind sharing what do you mean by 'genuine than Dubai'? İs it because we can still see the culture and heritage? Compared to Dubai, it's like the metropolitan city?
Bahrain is the jewel in the crown of the Gulf, I first visited in 1981 and have now lived here for 11 years. Going to see Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty ballets next month, oh and Andre Rieu is here in a few days. Yes, it’s hot and humid in the summer, but you can have a BBQ 363 days in a year 😅, plus it’s a very safe country to live for men and women.
@@tigisttigist5006 I recommend you rather do not work there, I am saying this is as an arab syrian, it could be very stressful and you don't know how they will treat you, I recommend you work in European countries like Germany, France etc etc where you can be a bit more familiarised with your surroundings because Bahrain isn't as diverse.
I pray to Allah that I can meet a good friends here in Bahrain. I am living in Sitra. Been here 3 weeks from now. I missed having a good friends, good company and someone that will not use you but someone that you can trust. 🙏😇😊
Hi Tori! Great to see you again with your new informative vlog! Thanks for sharing your experiences here in Bahrain! Keep on vlogging and just enjoy the rest of your stay here in Bahrain!
Me too. I have the idea that this one of the most civilated moslimcountries. But who knows that there comes a possibility one day. Good luck for you and your family.❤
I recommend you to visit Pakistan and India for once , you will be shocked to see multicultural environment , amazing cuisine, hospitable people, very cheap prices for tourist.
Im moving soon and American here, I have an Asian wife traditional modest Taiwanese. Will she be able to assimilate easily there? What cultural shocks do you think she will experience? Also she hates Sun sun sun, because of her skin. Is there skin lasers and treatments?
What you described is harassment pure and simple and not cool at all. It shows you're a nice person that you rationalised it but you and women don't have to
Hahahah I'm not even sure! But it was indeed hot and humid in the summer (probably because it's by the sea) and windy in the winter (again probably the winder winds). Those are just guesses though!
Please can you help me get a job please. I m a graduate of political science from Nigeria. I have a good work ethics and abide by organizational standard.
With all due respect lots of things were bs. Come on you know that literally no one goes indoor skydiving cause its expensive, the beaches suck, i’m bahraini and never ever heard any local or expat that went indoor rock climbing. I do agree with harassing and why sugar coat be like bahrainis don’t harass when lots do as well. I’ll tell you what this video is, its just a conservative politically correct attempt to show your opinion while fearing to say something that could compromise you staying in bahrain in the future or fearing retribution from locals. Every single video of expats feels there not speaking theirs hearts like they would when mentioning another western country
if you had a bad experience this doesn't mean traveling is not good it's so much better than many other places in the region and the even all of asia and the world + Bahrain has a very unique culture and history that you can't understand if you just want want to hate it instead of searching about it
It's the US way of talking. It gets worse as you travel west and peaks in California 😆 just do the voice and you will sound like a local even if your grammar is botched, trust me lol
@@bernardoliveiraGreat ear, Beverly Hills is located in California. I always thought it was because everyone was high on weed and mushrooms in California.

Huge numbers on cancer and kidney failure patients because of living condition and air quality
