Appreciate your review. Just got a note 8. Was thinking s9 plus prior. I like getting hardware after it has been out for a while. Maybe you have an early run or just bad unit.
I chose the note 8 because in other reviews it doesn't apply too much brightness to the image in low light VS s9 plus.
Testing pictures in store, the note 8 was closer to what my eyes see in low light.

The lens flare issue was resolved after a software update, so definitely not an issue now.

Techtonic it was odd the s9 losing to the note in the Android robot picture.have you tried retaking after the software update?

uraidodot I don't have the S9 Plus anymore so can't comment on that. If I can get a hold of the S9 Plus again, I'll check and let you know.

Just thought you'd like to know - my new S9 (non-plus version) doesn't seem to have any lens flare issues... I'll keep testing it!

yep, looks like it's only on some devices, so I guess you're lucky.

MY TECH LIFE yes there is when it's really bright, but since it was a fairly dull day when I recorded that video, it's not shown on the test.

S9 plus vs note 8 note 8 is better camera and screen so the note 8 wins

ok i bought this s9plus on friday and will be returning it on monday! my 4 year old iphone 6 plus camera is better in every department and especially real life usability! videos on s9+ are distorted, saturated, pixelated, unstable lighting, etc... samsung us a disgrace and all their fanboys! apple is miles miles better and can’t be touched by any android and that’s a fact! i think people are brainwashed by false advertising and paid bloggers by samsung, and all those blurry pixelated posts on instagram i seem lately were samsung’s s9 images.... people should return their samsungs! it’s a false advertisement... no more a droid for me. their cameras suck all of them

Damn dude, looks like you had a pretty bad experience.

not really, once u use footage out of the phone without processing it in premiere or final cut as majority of youtubers do, then see for yourself. and don't forget to use the both cameras properly under all conditions and while moving, not still video recording like many paid bloggers do! samsung is a disgrace and reviewers not calling them out too...
