God, that story about the poor woman slammed by Pensions is horrible! Their response to your query was the most disgusting and dispiriting thing I’ve heard in a long time. Loved the interview. Thanks for your coverage.
When I heard about The Rwanda Bill, I was stunned! I didn't recognize the UK any longer! And when America followed suit with a "center" in Venezuela...
If it wasn't their pattern before, it'll be added to their repertoire now... The Kremlin never considered this type of phishing because they thought it would be too dumb to work, but a test case has just proven they should try these dumber ideas 🤦
As a native of New Zealand, I feel some of my race that have made it to the top despite obstacles , think I’ve made it why can’t the rest of you. Everyone is different, some of those on the top have been lucky bc they are academically clever, others are not shy about coming forward.
I wish we in the US could be as sure of the dems winning in the next election as y'all are about Labor. I'd also like to echo Fav's (or was it Tommy) wistful envy about being about to about your being able to implement policy after the election, which we may never accomplish again.
Can you please talk about the Cass review in the next episode. Shockingly poor review that dissmisses 101 of 103 studies showing gender affirming healthcare to be affective as they do not have double blinds (double blinds being wholy ineffective in regards to studying HRT as people can generally tell when they're going through puberty or not). With not a single trans person on the advisory board, Cass having a history of working with notable anti trans hate groups and being a notable contributor to Floridas recent anti trans laws. Its conclusion of making gender affirming care even harder for trans people to recieve (wait times for gender serrvices in the UK often being 7+ year) is clearly not keeping trans peoples wellbeing in mind. In a country allready reputed for its shockingly poor trans healthcare and toxic atmosphere towards trans people, this report is a huge step backwards in regards to bringing trans people the life saving healthcare we desperately need. I've found your coverage on trans issues in the past to be refreshingly level headed, empathetic and well read, and would love to hear your take on this shockingly poor review that threatenens the UKs already horribly ineffective trans healthcare.
Really interesting interview with Shami Chakrabarti, thank you. However, this current version of the Labour Party is not in my name. I don't understand why they are choosing to implement even more austerity to the most vulnerable. The very same people they claim to represent. Correct me if I'm wrong. If anyone still thinks the Labour Party is going to be inclusive of working class women & ethnic minorities then please watch The Labour Files - parts one to four. th-cam.com/video/elp18OvnNV0/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_ITPdlV6XtGP4wdo Use it or lose it? I won't give up my vote but it won't be for LP. I want a socialist opposition who will enter government with socialist policies that they will implement. So far I don't see any from LP. With regard to future national, regional & local elections many (not withstanding FPTP) former LP members & supporters have moved on by choice &/or because they've been suspended or expelled to form a progressive alternative by either joining the Green Party, For the Many, Workers Party or stand as independent socialist candidates. I may have missed you talking with these potential/actual candidates but if not please invite people eg Andrew Feinstein, former ANC member & South African MP. Please talk with those people who are standing as candidates on these platforms locally & nationally & find out why they are doing so.
While I understand where you're coming from, please understand there is no 'progressive alternative'. At best you are alluding to progressive options but they are not ALTERNATIVES. The only alternative to Labour are the Tories. That is the sad reality of British politics. I agree that we need a strong socialist representation but it doesn't exist currently and the danger of missing this opportunity to remove a dysfunctional, failing government is a much higher priority. For too long the tactic of divide and conquer has been used by the powerful to create chaos and allow them to retain control and increase their power. This can be seen in the massive increase in extreme views and in-fighting destabilising our world. Our strength comes from working together, combining different skills (viewpoints) and coordinating action as much as we can.
@@antog42 thanks for taking the time to reply to my comments. Your last sentence speaks to me of the real value of pluralism & working in a collegial way. Its not, however, something I can characterise as key values held by the current LP leadership. If you've not had chance to watch The Labour Files, which I refer to in my comments, I'd urge you to do so. As a former LP member none of what has been reported in these programmes surprises me. I witnessed & experienced similar. If that's the way they choose to treat the membership do you think they would treat the most vulnerable & discriminated sections of the electorate any better? I don't think so. The most likely outcome of 4/5 years of Starmer is more austerity, more wealth inequality. This is, sadly, only going to lead to the rise in popularity of the fascists. If you can see 4/5 years of Starmers leadership looking any different & different in a way that favours the vulnerable & pooerst please tell me how & I'll gladly consider voting for them.

Wes Streeting is less an MP and more a 2 gallon jug of corporate investment.
“There comes a point when you have to go and have the fight” - I literally shouted ‘yes’ aloud in my hotel room.

Shami interview was great 👍
Great show.
They need to tax the rich more.
From Profumo to Wragg - Keep it b in your pants.
Don’t forget you need valid voter ID to vote.

❤❤❤
Was thinking about getting a pair, not now.
Was the DWP's response pretty much "yeah we did that and we'll fucking do it again"?
WhatsApp are getting a lot of British politicians in a LOT of trouble😂
Its all so bleak.
Great stuff as always. Are you aware of the crazy, 'unite against iran', Ad, after your show?
