    I used to do 'Biwaichi,' when I lived in Kusatsu in summer. The every footage you took reminds me of those days. thanks.

      No problem! How many days did it usually take you? I wonder if I could do it in 3 next time 😂 I always pass Kusatsu on the way to Moriyama but I need to check out the area

      @@franklinthewoman I depart early in the morning and reach my apartment by evening everytime. It took about 12hours.
      I was young and energetic.

      12 hours that’s impressive!

    Lovely video! Got some Qs for your trip if you don’t mind! I am gonna try solo it over a couple of days too this summer! Was wondering if you have any recommendations on where to stay or set up as a base? I will be coming from Osaka after some sightseeing, so I probably need to leave my big travel bag somewhere… can’t lug that thing around the lake haha thank you!😊😊😊

    I was hoping you'd filmed on your cycle trip 💜

      I wish my camera was of better quality but what can ya do! I’m glad I got to film it nonetheless 😂💖

    170km over a couple of days is a pretty good achievement! The saddles sores is enough to deter most people great job guys 😌 I think I’m gonna try this next month! Thanks for the info I’m gonna use it

      Maybe with a smaller seat saddle sores wouldn’t be as big an issue 😂 I hope you guys try it though!! It’ll be so pretty in the fall

    Great video! I wish I'd known about this when I lived in Japan! Hope to be able to when i can get back - was it mostly flat aside from the bridge?

    • @franklinthewoman
      @franklinthewoman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you very much!! It was mostly flat except that bridge and around the northernmost part of the lake there is a really steep slope but it’s very rewarding because the most beautiful part of the cycle comes right after 🥰

    Japan has no shortage of beautiful sites! And, this vlog showed a lot of it. I'm living near Lake Arrowhead, California. That lake is ringed with houses, hotels, and other businesses. It feels like all that development covers up the natural beauty that was once there.

    • @franklinthewoman
      @franklinthewoman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yep everywhere you turn there’s something beautiful! Is it possible to cycle around lake arrowhead or swim there?

    • @EnigmaDave
      @EnigmaDave 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@franklinthewoman I've never looked into that. I'm unable to physically do either. There are lots of boats, and jet skis on use, so it would only be safe if in a designated area for swimming. I've not seen bike lanes on the roads, so biking would be risky.

      That’s a shame! 😣

    Looks like Cereal was winking at the camera at 2:01. Thanks for your hard work powering through the multiple day ride. The colors at 10:53 were epic. 👍

    • @franklinthewoman
      @franklinthewoman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’m glad I caught the wink 😂 sadly the colors are so much better when I film with my phone! My friend and I might do the bottom part of the lake another day so that might be cool to film too

    Expectations: Nice, leisured bike ride around the lake
    Reality: EXTREME SPORTS

      The typhoon winds really added to it 😂😂

    Nice work!
    If you were on more efficient bikes and had bib-shorts you probably would've felt more confident and had less saddle sores. The fact that you did it on those city bikes is all the more of an accomplishment.

    • @franklinthewoman
      @franklinthewoman  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you very much!! If I ever do the cycle again I think it’ll definitely be worth renting a road bike. In the meantime I need to invest in some better shorts 😆

    Wrong bike and wrong saddle for long distance.

      I’m happy to take suggestions for future rides but not when it comes with such a condescending tone

      “that bike must’ve not been too comfortable for a ride that long, i suggest ○○ for longer and more intense bike rides next time! nice video, thank you so much for sharing”
      would go a lot longer way lmao
