The XV ist Just a raised GP7 2.0. The difference in cost Here in Uganda is around 20m ugx. I go for an Impreza

Been riding on this Scobie for a while and boy don't I love it's agility, torque, reliability and practicality.
I actually get 17km/l averaging at 100km/h.

Good review sir. Guys are reporting issues with the DIT Engines & their respective gearboxes & steering racks too especially on the legacies. What’s going on? Is Subaru loosing it’s touch especially with the turbocharged vehicles 🤔
Same worry on this end, it seems there is massive breakdowns on the electronic steering used by Subaru not to mention the DIT engines, I will do a talking head on this one soon

But with the Idling stop technology, does it mean the life of the starter is compromised?
Not really, the starter was designed with idling stop and start in mind
I've seen that American mech Scotty Kilmer advising against it, saying while the idea behind the tech is good, it greatly reduces the life of your engine. The constant shutting down and turning up the engine in traffic will cause a lot of ware on it, so just better switch it off n on top even the amount of fuel saved is very negligible.

Just one question... You have referred to Gp7 alot here, are you saying that gp7 can come in a 1.6l form? I thought your last impreza video was a gp3
Yes the Impreza we reviewed was a GP3 this xv has a 2ltr configuration hence the direct comparison to the GP7 which is a 2 ltr, it must have been a slip of the tongue

Depends on what you are looking for as it relates to durability... for longevity its pick HRV cuz Subaru XVs hav been known to hav a few issues after it reach a certain milage as compared to the HRV... but safewise XV is better... as well as id more powerful than HRV and has AWD so it does better on rougher roads

Gp6 and Gp7 are 2000cc
You are right, this particular xv is a 2000 cc engine capacity hence the direct reference to GP7 thanks
