Never heard of budworms. Good info. I think the arnor looks great. I had 4 gorgeous zinnias that were blooming for months and I kaboshed one last week. I over watered and then it poured. The one zinnia had powdery moldew and was turning black almost overnight. I ripped it out and sprayed the others down w a baking doda solution
I combated budworm with processed and boiled mint & garlic cooled slightly, added cayenne then let sit overnight. Strain and pour into spray bottle and douse the plants with it. Budworm gone. Spray early in the season before they show up.

Zinnias don’t handle a lot of water. So I’m sure after the rain and humidity they got mildew. Bummer
