No. Whichever order you do it, the result would be the same.

@@trainman665 No... the order could change completely. Let's assume that the Porsche has the worst practicality (reasonable assumption I feel):
Imagine if they had carried out the tests in this order:
      1. Practicality
      2. EV range
      3. Race
Then the final positions would have been:
      4th - Porsche
3rd - Audi (less range than the BMW/Volvo)
      2nd - Volvo (or 1st)
      1st - BMW (or 2nd)

I agree with the verdict: large family SUVs are about the practicality and the comfort. If you prepare for a long journey of 2000 miles - you don't care about the acceleration and etc. What you need - enough space, good mpg and the comfort of sitting and driving. I agree, that Volvo XC90 is the number 1 of all the tested cars.

Good review but the BMW was thrown out on a slightly irrelevant basis. Technically it has the best range and would have likely won on speed and handling. It was right to exclude the Porsche on range. I think the exclusion of the BMW for that particular reason was probably the wrong call given that this was an EV death race.

At the very end of this video, you confirmed to me and what others think that these tests, done like this, in changeable running orders, are 100% useless.

I prefer the x5, as its much more user friendly as a driver (cup holders in right spot and sound track changing on wheel) compared to Q7, and the x5 infotainment system is much more informative and easier to navigate for everyday user and for maintenance/issue details.

On a serious note though, they are very nice cars and if you want to burn off a boy racer at the lights they are so fun. They cost more to the environment to create than they'll ever save though.

So the Volvo would have won, but because you can turn off the traction control un the audi, it was a little bit quicker. but the test should have been fairer and the audi should have had its traction control on. My only criticism of Volvo is the narrow engine choice as I'm used to big cylinder diesels. But the B6 hybrid lacks for nothing in performance - it is really surprising how refined and powerful this engine is.

You just don’t get it do you? Imagine that instead of buying all the oil abroad from countries holding an oligopoly, the society would relay on local energy supply. This is economically smart, improves energy safety and most importantly creates jobs within the country. You can either fund local company or foreign oil sheiks. I know which one I would choose.
All the talk about people loosing their freedom to own a car is lies. It’s a straw-man. For individuals who are unable to understand bigger picture.

@@mikojarvinen6273 Sorry but we are not seeing local jobs. We are seeing wind turbines ( built abroad ) but no jobs for local people. Just grants used as bribes to allow them to be built in areas that are struggling economically and are unable to support businesses because of a lack of infrastructure and amenities being taken away. We are not seeing the charging infrastructure being built to meet the timescales that are being enforced through legislation. We are seeing overpriced SUV's being forced on consumers at every turn. This has normal people worried due to alternatives seemingly being deliberately discontinued. These are the same people who need transport for work, their mental health and do not have any off street parking. No straw man. Real people. With real concerns

@@robsmall6466 In Finland the green industry is huge and growing. We’re seeing a lot of new jobs and well being for the country. We have massive amounts of important minerals such as lithium. You don’t seem to understand how much it creates opportunities to companies, especially for our companies. Maybe we’re stealing the market from backwards countries. Good for us I suppose.
I don’t understand you comment about SUVs. These particular models have never been affordable and aren’t supposed to be. There’s nothing wrong with that. Manufacturers start from most profitable models and later electrify more affordable models. VW is bringing ID2 EV which starts from 25k €. As much as a Golf.
The fact is that moving to sustainable local energy is good for the economy and creates jobs. Spending money on foreign fossil fuels only creates jobs and boosts the economy of the foreign oil countries. Green transition creates a lot of opportunities and you need to take them not sit around. Complaining and waiting only means that you’re going to be the customers of those countries us who knew if was the right time to invest into green technologies.

@@mikojarvinen6273 Ok.... Number 1 - In Finland. World is a big place. Let's try and think of others. Number 2 - Backwards countries. Don't call other countries backwards. Your doing your own nation a disservice. Number 3 - Affordable SUV's. Dacia says Hi. Prior to electrification plenty were affordable. Ford Kuga for example. VW are only now turning to the ID2 concept because the ID is a poor effort. Consumers have forced them to reevaluate. Number 4 - Job creation. It's not happening. These green jobs are not replacing what was there before. Same when a mine closes. No more well paid jobs but they will open a call centre

    • @mikojarvinen6273
      @mikojarvinen6273 ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@robsmall6466 You can’t stop green transition. It’s going to cost you more in the long run if you try to oppose it.
Regarding the SUVs. You didn’t listen. Manufacturers will be making more affordable electrified models as they already have. You can’t expect them to figure out everything immediately. 2026 it’s estimated that an EV will cost as much to produce as an equivalent ICE car. High performance EVs are already cheaper than high performance ICE cars. In Finland Tesla Model Y already costs as much as Toyota RAV4.
You have to understand than fossil based economy is not sustainable in long run. Neither are the jobs. You shouldn’t oppose development. However new jobs and industries will be created. Excluding mechanics I can’t even think many fossil industry jobs in my country. Although even they have important role in the future, they’ll just need to adapt to electrified models.
