No shortcuts, no permanently unlocked skills, and single segment of course. This is essentially the entire game with the true ending. The only requirement for that is to spare each boss instead of killing them, which you can do by breaking their posture gauge twice.
SIFU is a new action game from Sloclap, and it's absolutely excellent. If you're a fan of beat 'em ups, or 3D action games in general, SIFU is a must play. It's one of the best games in years. I just wish they would have communicated what the game actually is a bit better (or maybe I wasn't paying enough attention), because I didn't know what to expect out of it. It's actually a game made exactly for someone like me. It's full of action from start to finish, with no filler or superfluous elements whatsoever - just a (relatively) short, infinitely replayable, combat focused action game. What more can I ask for?
I'm playing the PC version here. It's alright, but it needs some work. Unfortunately, it stutters a bit when it transitions to a new environment, which is probably the worst thing about it. I'm tempted to buy the game again on PS5, assuming it doesn't have this issue. The best perk of playing on PC would be high framerates if your monitor can handle it, which makes the game feel even better than it already does at 60 fps.
SIFU is currently available on PC, PS4, and PS5. Hopefully it'll come to more platforms in the future, so as many people can play it as possible.

FYI: I recorded the intro stage from a new file, and played the rest of the game on an older file with a complete detective board (with no permanent skills unlocked). This way I could access some extra areas and fight more enemies without "extensive" backtracking, and skip the cut-ins when you pick up new keys, and so on. I basically just wanted to make the game as smooth as possible.

yeah good game ending is kinda blue balls tho like after all that he just dies and then gets up on a mountain and just breaths the end... like huh did i miss somthing? it just doesnt conclude anything the big bad has nothing to say after he won and neither does the main character just complete wtf ending

I love how he continuously spares the lives of those he has a personal vendetta against but doesnt hesitate to merc random people that are just living
If you notice the subtle details after sparing the first boss every execution you do you notice the main character will hesitate on some of his executions and will instead go for the leg instead of the head

Love that you didn’t edit out the cutscenes or skip. This is like watching a movie, absolutely great! My only complaint is perhaps not letting the enemies speak, but it’s just a minor detail!
When you actual realized, you already spent 1 hour and 45 minutes to watched all of this skilled and satisfy gameplay without any regret. Totally worth it !!

Superb play, really enjoyed that. Also made me realise how much more I should use the sweep! I've not quite finished yet but steadily getting the hang of it. Right up my street and really pleased it didn't disappoint.
Yeah it took me some time to realize just how good the sweep and push skills are, especially when combined with the followup trip skill you can buy. It's arguably overpowered lol.

It feels like a mix of Yakuza with Sleeping Dogs and Rise to Honor. Might give it a go. The stages are quite awesome and got a lot of new ideas to work with.
It's a lot of fun once you get the hang of the combat certain bosses might seem hard but you just need to learn their attacks and learn how to counter them I would totally recommend this game

Sleeping dogs and yakuza are much better than this game
Yakuza has one of the shittiest combat systems ever designed. The combat hasn't changed since the original PS2 entry. (well till Yakuza 7). Sifu plays NOTHING like Yakuza. Yakuza isn't even in Streets of Rage 4's league.
I have heard of Yakuza and Sleeping Dogs. Unfortunately, I have not heard of Rise to Honor. Is it good?
I had been hearing about this game, it definitely looks sick seeing skilled play in action. Just recently built a gaming PC so I might have to give this a personal look at some point.

I didn't realize that blocking raised their structure damage, I thought that ability only applied to parries.

Man, I had to constantly replay the Stages each time to get the hang of it and permanently keep the moves I chose to try and keep myself young enough to reach a good ending

Not surprising that you've pulled this off so quickly. Definitely agree with your assessment as well, it feels like the game was absolutely made for me (being a martial arts cinema nerd helps too).
Although the camera can be absolutely awful at times, it's the most fun I've had with a game in a long time. Sloclap absolutely nailed it with Sifu.

You know, I never noticed this (Probably because the beard from old age) the player smiles as he dies. He also smirks as the third phase of Yang starts.
I replayed the first 10 minutes like 15 times I can't stop replaying it 😭
I get the whole "getting revenge doesnt take away the pain, or repair the trauma" thing. However, the botanist literally slit your throat when you were nothing more than a small child, and Yang literally murdered your father in cold pre-meditated blood. My "true ending" is murdering every one of those bastards.

I was wondering when you would release a video about it. :) Great job doing some long stages like the museum without shortcuts and without dying! Deaths happen so quickly.
I also really enjoy what Sifu is. A true beat'em up, but also its own take on the genre, a kind of cross between Sekiro and Super Double Dragon.
I just wished it has more contents. A hard difficulty mode with more advanced enemies met sooner, a true arcade mode (all stages without the possibility to save), a survival mode, or somekind of arena mode, maybe even unlockable characters... But I'm dreaming.
They're actually releasing a hard mode! I'm looking forward to that. As is, I'd be happy just doing challenge runs as my skill improves, like no upgrades for example. A more robust scoring system could have been nice to play with too, but it's not bad as it is.
An infinite survival mode could be cool too, like Streets of Rage 4.

Give me about 6 months and three controllers and I'll be able to beat the game I doubt that I will have no deaths but I'll eventually make it through it. It's good to have this is kind of a guide to be able to master some of the combos you got going on and when to purchase them so thanks man.
