You installed a new hub and bearing in the old knuckle but when you went back to the truck to reinstall you had a complete new knuckle, bearing and hub. Did something go wrong with the original? If so do you have any tips on what could go wrong and what not to do? Thanks in advance, great video 👍
Just had this done on my '03. Mechanic used a 30 ton press and couldn't get the bearing out, until they cut the hub with an oxy torch! And my car is not rusty. So it pays to get the full kit with a new hub included. 😉 Glad I didn't attempt this job myself!
Heads up to people before they get in over their head. I’ve been a mechanic for over twenty years and i personally own a 2003 Limited Explorer. You never ever want to just try and replace the rear wheel bearing/hub by itself. Detroit Axle and another company make the complete assembly for a few dollars more. You get new knuckle, bearing and hub, emergency brake shoes all installed and ready to go. You don’t have to mess around with a press or old rusty parts. Just keep in mind your outer axle nut may be rusted away. But save yourself the nightmare and replace with entire new unit. This company shouldn’t lead people to try this way just to sell a $60 part.
I just learned something. I would put the brake pads together on the backing plate with those tabs before assembly of the knuckle. That magnet spring clip deal is 😡😡😡😡😡🥵🥵🥵
You should be using never-seize on every nut, bolt and ball joint connection, especially if you live up north in the salt. if someone has to work on that car after you, it will be a nightmare!!

Thank you for this video. I have a 2004 eddie B edition & BOTH my rear bearings are shot. I hope all my bolts come out this easily. Very helpful.
Great video!
Fortunately, you can buy the complete rear knuckle assemblies for under $200 for the pair.
why didn't he mention the torque for the hub nut?

If the original parts went back on, is a 4 wheel alignment necessary?
My 05 needs this. Is the abs wire separate that the hub and bearings?
Excelente video
Put the new shoes on while the hub is off much easier
Snap ring is beveled on one side. Which side shows?
Does the adjuster need to be in there ?
Do you need to adjust your emergency brake?
(Yes)
