So true, I was just thinking the same thing like shes addicted to HEROIN- and looks to be high right there how much commitment and enthusiasm do these people expect to hear? She onow how hard the road shes heading down is and has been but the 2nd option, sobriety- is daunting and very scary- almost to the point it seems impossible.

@Grace Kayvee Sometimes you have to use tough love Grace. I'm in an industry where it can be very frustrating when you get someone free services and do everything you can for them and they keep Relapsing. I know having patience is important, but the addict has to show they really want to get off drugs too. It can't just be a one-way street.

While going through heavy withdrawals you can experience: severe pain, anxiety, depression, feeling of losing control, voices in your head, feeling severely sick, excessive sweating, no sleep along with traumatic sleep disorders, extreme fatigue, overwhelmed with stress, inability to think or control your thoughts, insanity, etc... it is scary af. The fact that I had to deal with my addiction myself here where I live is troubling because the treatment centers here are so expensive and only some lucky people could attend to. In the end I did it and have been clean for more than 5 years, but it would have been so much easier if I had what they are offering to her. After the addiction comes the reality check where you have to deal with real life and be an asset to society which isnt that easy when you have lost so many years of your life in drugs instead of building up your life. So if you get the chance please say yes. The addiction is the crave but what is causing you to be an addict is the key to salvation. It goes so much deeper than to just get clean and that is why many relapse over and over again

I don't think threating a pregnant drug dependent woman of calling the police to take her unborn child in front of a live audience qualifies as "giving her a chance". Withdrawals could mean death for the baby and shaming addicts only makes it worse!

Yes I worked at a drug treatment clinic and they never want to take a pregnant woman off of drugs. It is almost positive that she would miscarry if they do. We were always trying to educate the courts, police and doctors about this.

Heroin addiction is one of the hardest addictions ever. It takes over your mind body and spirit. I lost my little brother from this just a year he was addicted. It destroyed him inside and out. I didnt even recognize him as a person. Drugs steal your soul. I know its easy to hate/judge/laugh at addicts because alot of they steal lie etc but they really need prayers and help.

Her only chance is to go on Methadone. It’s very possible that the withdrawals can kill the baby. As long as she’s under a GOOD doctor’s care, the baby can be born heathy, not addicted to anything. I am on Methadone myself and only recommend it for the worst cases… My cousin who was addicted to heroin and crack was still doing both when she found out she was pregnant. She was doing so much dope that I couldn’t fathom how she paid for it… So we did an intervention, and I had her setup for an appointment with my clinic that day. Thankfully she said yes, stayed on a low dose, and gave birth to a beautiful baby girl… Unfortunately she just quit going to the clinic thinking she was fine, but didn’t wean herself off so she went back on heroin and died. I just lost a friend this week to an OD which makes 10 of my closest friends to die from overdosing… Makes me feel guilty and sometimes I wish I could trade places with them, especially my cousin.

Try it and you'd best believe many addicts will cut off their own hand to break free and get their drugs just to avoid withdrawal. That's how powerful heroin withdrawal and addiction is. Extreme example but you get my point and its not far fetched at ALL. Many would also commit suicide, and many people have, when forced to detox in jail. And in the end even if they can't break out of wherever you try to force them to stay and get clean at, and if they don't take their life, 90% will relapse once they are free again. And due to lowered tolerance many overdose and die this way. Forcing it doesn't work.

My causin used to be a heroin addict and she was so lost in life. At one point she was living in Idiana out of her car. She got sober and now she has clean for quite a while now. She has a boyfriend who has a sweet son, a cute pitbull named lilac and makes amazing drawings. Mainly mermaids, trees, plants, flowers and animals. It can be done you can get clean you just need to do your part.

The very best way to not become drug addicted is to not start taking drugs. Seems pretty simple huh

This woman is legit trash. She stayed at that rehab for only 15 days and left. She was sober for 3 months gave birth to the baby who was addicted to drugs and now she’s back using heroin again and homeless. Her family has finally given up on her. This woman doesn’t wanna get clean. Let her do whatever she wants there are actual addicts out there like myself who hit rock bottom and had enough and turned their lives around. She had some of the best help and through it away. Sad.

He forced her into this...she’s extremely high. Her attitude is infuriating but he pretty much just said, “if you don’t take my help...” then followed through with a threat. She doesn’t deserve the help because she doesn’t want to be there

I feel like dr phil usually is a little harsh on addicts in the way he speaks to them. This poor woman is addicted to heroin. Her reactions, her apprehension, it is all normal for someone who is an addict. Addiction is a physical and mental illness, not a choice or something that most people cannot just wake up and say no to. This woman needs more sympathy, more therapy, more encouragement, and less shame on ntl television...

Mogmii Kaitlyn went to rehab, but left after 15 days. She was sober for 3 months, but got back on heroine and her baby tested positive for cocaine, heroine, and marijuana. The day after the baby was born, the baby was taken into foster care and Kaitlyn hasn’t seen the baby since, because she is still using
