I understand that I have either repeated lines from the script, got some stuff wrong, or not very good commentary. Trust me, it will be worked out and fixed in the next game critique. Please give me some feedback in the comments!
The location of Earth thing: Humans make widespread use of AI units, but the Covenant have never even envisioned such a concept. Once the Covenant began the war with humans, AI units scrubbed all relevant information they could from every system they could, thus preventing the Covenant from learning Earth's location for most of the duration of the war.
No other FPS controlled like Halo on console . Play any shooter before 2001. Metal of Honor 1999 on PS1 was how most shooters controlled before Halo. Up on d-pad was move forward, down move you backward. Left and right make you spin left and right. L1 and R1, strafe left and right. shooting by pressing X. Now aiming was R2 and that would bring up a crosshairs but you cannot move because the D-pad move the crosshairs. Then 2 years later, Halo comes out. Joysticks were still new. Having a fixed crosshair in the middle of the screen and moving your gun around was new. Being able to aim and move was new.
Ya I kinda agree with you here because I always hear people say "Oh it sill holds up to this day!" But if I'm being honest I don't think it heled up that well. Don't get me wrong there are still some amazing parts from this game and we'll done sequences. However the way it runs just screams 2001 for me and I feel that the anniversary graphics are already outdated. Also the old physics and god awful checkpoints make me not really want play this game for awhile but I do eventually to revisit old memories. Thanks for having the guts to make this video.
@@ImGardenGnome I think you should review spider-man next and also why didn't guilty spark just teleport us to the end of the library so we didn't have to have to go through that?
@@AntnAndArr I have no idea. I always thought the library as a filler/lazy level where they just want you to get used to the flood. And I’m down to do Spiderman, but I got another video planned this coming week or two 😊

I know that you acknowledged that it’s an older game, but it seems like you’re not viewing it through an analytical lens, you’re viewing it through a modern lens. There was NOTHING like this when it came out. A lot of the issues you presented were much much worse in other FPSs. That being said, the game is pretty dated in 2023, but I have a hard time believing that the fun factor wouldn’t be fixed with co-op. Still; people that think the first Halo is the best one are insane. The games improve with each entry and the campaign doesn’t reach masterpiece level until Halo 3.
I totally agree with you, and you are correct on me viewing it through a modern lens. For the sequel, I’ll cover it through the eyes of someone when it just came out :)
