Good video Joe. I am thinking that if you were to market your cages and robbing screens, you would sell them beyond your expectations!! I am encouraging you to do so!! Thanks for all you do..
Little bit of honey as far as I'm concerned you're the best on TH-cam. How long can you store Queens bang come like that without any bad results please respond thank you
Ha Joe did u make your queens let them get mated then pull them from a hive to put in queen bank. How long can u keep a mated queen banked like that before it hurts her about her laying thanks and have a wonderful day
Yes they came out of a matting nuc. I don't like to keep them over week to 10 days but I have had one or two go month and a half with out any problems.
Virgins don't bank as well, if you put 50 virgins in a queen bank for 10 days they will let 20 of them die. When I bank virgins for AI I just put them in a three hole cage with 8 nurse bees keep them in the house and feed them 2 times a day. I have keep them this way for 2 weeks. If you keep a virgin banked to long she won''t fly out and get mated.
Wow Joe, you and your 3D printer have fun! Where did you learn the 3D printing skills? Thanks for the video. Joe, why do the bees not chew the candy out in the queen cage when it is in the bank?
Great Idea about laying cage! Is there a way you can share the file, so as fellow bee keeper we can pay for 3D printing service to create a cage for us?
ok I understand, question is the spacing the same a queen exculder? I have a plastic queen excluder and made my own laying cage with a heat gun, for my personal use until you guys start selling one that I can purchase
Joe, What was your solution to the queen in the laying cage being protected by the other bees in the hive that already had a queen? Just curious. Thanks new beekeeper here
@@LittleBitsHoneyBeesjoemay I have 2 queens in my russian hive for over a month now. I am in Colorado, a new beeker and its already August. I believe its too late in the season to split. What will happen in the winter with 2 queens? Will the hive keep them both attended to?
Thanks joe explaining queen bank. You help a lot of people. We all thank you
Joe

online
Do you have a 3D printing file for the cages?
I do but I sold the rights to it to a manufacture.
Do you have contact details for them?

no the workers can go right though the excluder and kill the queen.
Joe,
What was your solution to the queen in the laying cage being protected by the other bees in the hive that already had a queen? Just curious. Thanks new beekeeper here
The queen had started laying under the cage the bees did not know what queen to keep is what I think.
@@LittleBitsHoneyBeesjoemay
Did you leave both queens in the hive or make a split to separate them?
made a split. They say 20% of all hives have more than one queen in them I have only seen it 2 or 3 times.
